In light of a team double DNR forfeit, everyone should be reminded that they may be posting for legal lineup in any given week. One bowler posting is legal but you do have to have that.

Have fun this week! 🎳👍

SPOILERS OK - GAME THREAD

Use this thread to chat about the TV finals before, during and after the telecasts. Have questions? Post them below and I will do my best to answer them.

CBS Sports Net is offered on most cable and some streaming services. If you are a cord-cutter and don't subscribe for either of those, you could try a free trial to YouTube TV (21 days) or Hulu Live TV (3 days).

The World Series of Bowling is 5 events held over 2 weeks. This post is for the 4 Animal Patterns only. There will be a separate post for the 5th event (World Championship) which will have its TV finals take place in June. Each Animal Pattern pays $20k for first place.

All Animal Pattern events have the same format: 10 games qualifying (2, 5 game blocks same day), then cut to top 12. Top 4 qualifiers get a bye in bracket match play. Seeds 5-12 will bowl on TV to determine who meets the players with the byes. All will be carried out on TWO TV SHOWS the same day on CBS Sports Net.

New addition to the kit

Added the 15 lb Nebula and gave my brother my 14 lb Rhino for him to use at league night on Tuesdays. The Nebula has been nice to practice with but I found out I’m hitting the pocket better with my 14 lb Venom Shock. Anybody deal with the same thing? I bowled a 144 solely with the nebula then switched back to the shock for a 168 and 175.

Misc Furrifying my dexters

• Upvotes

Hi guys, has anyone here put faux fur on shoes? I feel like this is more of a shoe question rather than bowling question but still figured i could ask here too. I would like to put some faux fur on my dexter sst6 boas but I'm not sure where to start and if it would look good at all. If anyone has tips or experience with this it would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Frustrating night

• Upvotes

Got back into bowling seriously last year and it’s been a steady rise back to where I feel I should be. Throwing regular 200+ games every night. Tonight I threw the worst series I have thrown since coming back. I ended with a 109 my last game. I haven’t thrown a 109 is probably 30 years. I feel like I’ve been going backwards the past month and can’t find the reset. I’m extremely frustrated and this point I’m seriously considering taking a few weeks off but my 3 league teams will pay the price for that. Any advice?

Ball's in the pocket (RH) and the 3-pin doesn't fall

• Upvotes

It happened again tonight, my ball was in the 1-3, got one bad break with the 7 not falling, but the worst part was that the 3-pin slid over to the 6 spot and didn't fall.

I was in the pocket and I had to face a 6-7 split.

Technique Need to improve.

Hello! I (41M) have been bowling for over 30 years and carried a 190 avg for the last couple of years. Recently decided to film my release after hitting a plateau and saw how gross mine is with topping the ball. Looking for help/tips on how to break old habits and actually get under the ball consistently. Any help would be appreciated! Video is my release for reference, tear it down all you want just pass helpful advice as you do please!

Nexus Bag V3

Does anyone on here have the Nexus Bag V3 (or V2)?

I struggle sometimes with my OGIO Rogue backpack, especially since I also store my shoes in it. I currently use a fishing tackle tray and some other organizational techniques for all my accessories (I thumbs, tapes, scissors, nu skin, clippers, etc). The Nexus bag looks like a perfect solution, but I’m wondering about true practicality from people that have either used it or know someone who uses it. The idea of the Velcro external modules seems fantastic. Aside from the product, it’s also a veteran-owned small business, which is great too.

Thanks in advance, All!

I started bowling on Monday. Hadn’t thrown a ball in 5 years. In the past I had only played 1-2 times a week during summers with family who taught me a lot about bowling. My dad had 33x 300s

I am a 2 handed bowler. I bowled 32 games in this past week of bowling. Game 13 was my current PB of 182.

Here’s my ball and the stats! I know I can’t rush a PB, but I expect to hit 200 in a week or 2!

Technique How much would sliding increase my ball speed?

I average about 14-15mph downlane and am just wondering how much does sliding really help? I compensate for speed by just hastening my steps but I’m not sure how that compares to sliding itself. If anybody has any experience converting from plating to sliding and got a significant speed increase, please lmk 🙏

Technique Simple Technique for Two Handed Bowling

Attached you will find a two handed bowling technique which is easy to perform and minimal stress to the body of the bowler. This was designed for seniors, but any bowler with special needs, or looking for a simple, repeatable option may wish to experiment with this technique as well. It is both simple and efficient, effectively eliminating issues bowlers have with two handed bowling difficulties.

This technique is based on research and personal experimentation. It virtually eliminates all but basic motion, attempting to make it feasible for any bowler. You should be able to place the opposite hand in a comfortable position on top of the ball. I have been experimenting with the opposite hand fingers pointing in the opposite direction of the bowling hand or at a 90 degree angle to each other. There should be no problem with keeping the opposite hand wrist straight, as well as the bowling wrist if you so choose, since the bowling hand starts preset to the release position, cocked or not.

If you choose to try this technique, feel free to comment and describe any modifications you choose to make. I hope this is helpful for your bowling, as well as minimizing any potential injuries. The first attempt to use this technique in competition resulted in a 269 game on a house condition. KISS is what it hopes to achieve.

Question about starting point for aiming

Hello! Started bowling a few months ago and I have really taken a liking to the sport!

I have a question about how to dial in my aim, I have heard about the "move the feet 2 boards and your aim 1 board". But how do I know my starting "foot and aim position" is right? When do I know if I need to move the aim only or the feet only?

When bowling in competition do you guys have a starting point or method to finding your aim?

Grateful for any advice!
