Help identifying these insect shells

For context, we had a bedbug infestation that we had heat treated (twice). About a month after started getting some bites so we vacuumed the whole base of the bed and everything under it. 2 weeks later we are still getting bites every 3-4 days. Who gets bitten is usually a toss-up between my wife and I. Opened up the bed again and looked beneath and found these shells on a plastic storage box.

I feel it might be a small group or 1-2 bugs that have survived the treatment. We have ripped apart the whole bed but have not seen any bugs. This is the only evidence so far (other than the bites themselves)

Can someone help confirm if these are bedbug shells?

Bed Bug Exposed Couch

• Upvotes

Hello! My brother visited me in July unaware he had bed bugs. It’s been over 2 months and I haven’t seen any signs of bed bugs but I can’t bring myself to sit on the couch again because that’s where he slept. What should I do with the couch? It doesn’t feel right to list it on Facebook marketplace. Do I call a junk removal place and do I need to disclose that it was possibly “exposed” to bed bugs? Thank you for your help.

Exterminator came three days ago but still finding bugs?

• Upvotes

Three days ago, an exterminator came by for a first treatment: attesting to the application of crossfire around corners, spot steam treatment, and as well encouraging us to buy mattress encasements (we did.) In the ensuing days we have seen a number of of dead bugs, but also two living ones (the day after) and a few which have wound up in glue traps since. Is this normal? All things considered, the amount of bites I have noticed has plummeted, so I imagine it must be doing something.

Bedbug? And what is this along the baseboard?

I was cleaning the guest bedroom of my in-law's house and found this dead bug on the pillow, it is flattened. Then I saw these tiny things along the baseboard and carpet in only one spot in the room, behind the bed. I checked the mattress for bedbug poop or other bugs and didn't see anything along the mattress. There were the same tiny specks on the bedspread but mostly on the carpet. What is all this? Would it be something from the rafters, such as termite frass falling from above? There is another bed in the room but no signs of bugs or tiny poop, nothing on the comforter, mattress, or baseboards. It is a guest bedroom and it may be months in between use and the sheets are washed after every guest. Edited to add: we are going to check tonight to see if any specks/poop/whatever that is has returned since we vacuumed it last night.

Okay. I can’t even believe it. I’m gunna be sick. So I’m a bedbug survivor (early twenties 4 people in a one bedroom, lasted nearly half a year maybe longer they just wouldn’t go away.) & it was so traumatizing, and exhausting. Told myself that it just can never happen to me again at least not to the extent it had gotten that first time. & I literally am currently dealing with a roach infestation at this time which has been giving me such bad anxiety. I just got my place fumigated. Two mornings after is when I saw this dead bug on my canopy above my bed where I sleep (my canopy is see through and it was atop the fabric). I can’t be sure how long it’s been there might have been a little while or maybe just when I noticed it this morning. I initially thought it was a roach due to the fumigation, but when I picked it up with toilet paper and looked at it my heart sank, because i know what these devils look like. I have checked my entire mattress, washed all bedding, the bedframe, checked in creases of pillow and blankets and zippers, the canopy, and ive found nothing else not one sign shedding, egg, or other bed bug. I have had zero bites and I would have a reaction to them that first time like big red bumps all over my hands and feet. Could i possibly just be one of the few lucky ones that just have one random rouge bug (please god say yes) I mean how did it die? The fumigation of the roaches? I didn’t know bat bugs were a thing until this forum, could it be that? I live in an old apartment complex third floor of four, I have a little back yard/garden alongside my apartment. I literally cannot deal with this right now especially with everything these roaches have put me through. Someone, anyone, help me please😭

Identification Is this a bedbug?

I started living at my dads and stepmoms about 3 months ago and I was having flea problems and so I changed my sheets and were still finding them. Tonight I took all sheets, stuffed animals, everything off of my bed. I put on a clean sheet and layed down with nothing else on the bed, about 10 mins later this was crawling…. I know the pic isn’t good but I know it had dark spots on it. I tried to crush it over and over again but it wouldn’t…. I really hope I can blame my dad and stepmom for this, they were really shitty about the flea situation. I have no idea how long THIS has been happening if they are bedbugs. I’m mortified and feel nasty. They do have sorta a dirty house if that helps… but no one else has slept in my bed in like 3 months so….

Woke up to this crawling on my forehead - kinda damaged while picking it with my fingers, but this is what I have to work with.

It looks to me similar enough to pictures I see on the internet to make me scared - but I am no expert. I would appreciate any help.

EUR 10 cent coin for scale (0.778 inch diameter)

Requesting community support Gross Uber, Help!

Hey,

I imagine you guys get these kinds of posts a lot but I recently took an uber ride with one stop, 15 minutes each way and on the way back I saw what I’m 99% sure is an adult bed bug. As soon as I came back to my dorm I stripped, dried my clothes on high for over half an hour, showered, stuffed the dried clothes in a bag to quarantine them, and I plan to cycle through another wash and dry—as you can see I’m kind of paranoid. Overall, I’m here to ask how well I can mitigate the risk of bed bugs, are my Nike SB dunks done for (sneaker with a leather exterior) , and are the steps I’ve taken enough?

Also some other questions:

Also if it turns out I did track one in how would I go about identifying that quickly so I can notify my university?

Are all my clothes, bedsheets, etc. done for if a full infestation does break out? Can they be cleaned?

Identification Is this a bedbug?

So my gf found out she has bedbugs at her house. She caught it early and let me know a little over a week ago. I havent been to her house since, but she's come over here a few times. When she comes she'll immediately dry her clothes and borrow a pair of mine until she leaves.

I cant say for sure that I've felt any, I honestly think its just me feeling paranoid about the situation. I've been doing a lot of laundry and checking the bed, and today is the first time I found anything that seems like it could be a bed bug. I found this on my mattress topper. What do yall think?

Is this a bed bug? I first noticed tiny dot crawling over my phone. Then saw more. I’ve also seen them on the wall bed. I thought they’re too tiny but could they be a baby? This was using a lint roller (you can see my nail in the last pic for size). I couldn’t get clearer photos with my phone. I had such a panic clean and I’m so stressed I can’t sleep.

Advice wanted! 5 months in...

Story goes:

1- June i find BB bites

2- Orkin inspects and finds 1 live BB. So July & August they 1st and 2nd chemical treatment (2 weeks apart )

4-Septembre: bites continue

5-Orkin does 3rd treatment with Aprehend

6- October: bites continue!!

The question is: bring a canine ($200) and Aprehend ($350) or do more treatments with Aprehend ? Ive already spent about $1000. Clothes in bags. Mattress encased but spare mattress not in encased (figured they would die with the treatment as expert said so). A new company beside orking is charging $850 for 3x Aprehend treatments (the 3rd being complimentary). Ive read about some companies offering package deals?

Considering throwing out my bedframes, sofa, chairs with fabric, and nightstand?

That would be very expensive to replace. But don't want it to get worse. It's already been 5 months.

I haven't tried Crossfire.

I did try DE in months 2&3 and didn't seem to work.

The Orkin treatments have diminished both the amount of bites and the improved the time between them. However always come back, although not as bad as it was in it's highest in June.
