A great find.
At my local Save-a-lot,I made a great find.A 3 lb slab of Canadian bacon,by Camella meats of Buffalo. Was about $17.Great price,it goes for about $10 a pound if I can find it.Unslices, but not a problem,I have a meat slicer.Just thought I'd pass this on to my fellow bacon lovers.
Where does this part of the bacon come from?
I usually try to pull it out as it always seems so tuff.

Twisted my bacon before air frying it and the texture is completely different (crispy ridges, chewy centers)
I started twisting bacon in the air fryer a while back and haven’t gone back to the skillet since. The spiral shape gives you crispy peaks and tender folds, and since the fat drips below the basket, it comes out noticeably less greasy.
A few things I learned along the way:
- Thick-cut matters. Thin strips tear when you twist them and overcook fast.
- Don’t overcrowd the basket. Leave space between spirals or they steam instead of crisp.
- Pour off the grease between batches to keep smoking down.
- Cold bacon straight from the fridge is much easier to twist than room-temperature bacon.
- Light glaze is optional. I use a little maple, smoked paprika, and black pepper, but plain is great too.
It’s also a fun one to serve at brunch since it looks way fancier than the effort involved. I wrote up the full recipe with ingredients, serving ideas, and dietary notes if anyone wants it. Happy to share the link or answer questions about timing and different air fryer models.
What’s your go-to way to cook bacon?

I hate turkey bacon.
My mother bought turkey bacon instead of real, juicy, savory, delicious piggy bacon. What should I do?

Not great
I just want to preface by saying I totally support humanly raised and sustainably farmed meats. This was my second try of this brand. The first time was awful. This slightly better. Maybe a better batch. When I cooked it, mostly water instead of fat was rendered, strangely. The flavor was just really lacking. Not good at all.

Am I the only person who thinks Marijuana smells like bacon?
I am not a pot smoker, however, I have been around it as most Americans have in our comings and goings.
My whole life, I have had this experience when marijuana is being smoked nearby it smells like bacon being cooked to me. Not exactly the same, but very similar.
Whenever I mention this to people, they act like they have no idea what I'm talking about. They tell me that it smells nothing alike.
Am I the only person whose brain is wired like this?
Don't they smell similar to other people?

Kid Loves Bacon: Should I Be Worried?
Anyone eat bacon frequently as a kid and still alive and well now? My 6 year old son loves bacon and insists on eating it every morning. He eats two pieces a day, Mon through Fri. I buy the sugar, preservative, nitrites/nitrates free ones with high protein.
It’s something he really looks forward to every weekday morning, so I’d hate to take it away from him. But I also worry about the long-term health consequences of eating bacon so frequently. Is my worry warranted?
I’ve tried switching it up with other meat alternatives like chicken, meatballs, and sausage, but I haven’t found anything else he’s willing to eat instead.

I Baked Some Bacon
Bought a 2 lb package of bacon to make a pot of corn chowder. Used most for the chowder. Baked the rest because bacon is awesome.
