Why do so many family SUVs still come with light cream or tan carpet?
I was looking at a few midsize crossovers today, and a lot of the nicer leather interiors come with ridiculously light carpet. Who decided that was a good idea? one rainy day, a pair of wet shoes, or one spilled coffee and the floor is stained. It feels like you have to cover the whole cabin with heavy rubber liners as soon as you leave the dealer just to keep the carpet decent for resale. That kind of defeats the point of a premium looking interior when most of the floor ends up hidden under black utility mats. Why isn't dark charcoal or black the default carpet color, no matter which seat color you choose? is there some manufacturing reason for it, or do people actually prefer light carpet even though it's harder to keep clean??
