HELP! I have a question. Just got body work done, was told that it’ll “blend” together in about a week

Just wanted to know if this will be final outcome? The person who did the job said silver takes longer to blend together than other colors.

My car door hit another car today because of the wind (gotta love FL this time of year) and I left a note and I am willing to pay for the damages. I believe the other car is a 2022 Volkswagen Taos and this is kings red paint

HELP! I have a question. Rattle can repair & notes for next time

Hey all,

Using a rattle can kit I've used a couple of times now - first couple times to bandaid over a rust spot, and now to respray after properly fixing the rust.

In prior efforts, I'd gone too heavy with base coat which meant it presented pretty dark. This time, after priming, I tried to go a good deal lighter and it worked - the color match was much closer, but even after 2K clear, it looked less glassy from the jump.

Got the car out in fresh air today...looked pretty mediocre and almost a little cloudy under the clear, so hit it with a light wet sand and buff and here we are. Looks...like I should've left it semi-ugly till after winter, but now it's full ugly.

I think I know my answer - too thin of a base coat? Or is this a case of not finishing off the clear with a wet enough pass?

TIA

RUST 2008 Honda CR-V Rusted Front and Rear Subframe

I purchased a 2008 Honda CRV back in March. A month into owning it I was driving about 30 mph,
When the wheel bearing broke. I got it towed to a shop and they lifted it and we had seen all the rest on the bottom of it and they told me that they were unable to fix it when we got it towed back home the tow driver (former mechanic) told me it was a lost cause and to forfeit on the loan and just take the hit since I’m young. No one around me is willing to fix the car. I am in a time crunch and need a reliable vehicle, as I just started a new job. What should I do?

I know its not huge but they are super deep on a truck that is two weeks old. Looking for recommendations to completely hide them. They are right next to the driver's side door handle.

2015 RVR

These things are notoriously rusty. If i fix this by cutting out and welding, what else could I do to prevent future rust?

Where interior panel comes off, would you add new seam sealer? Cavity wax?

Epoxy primer really only for new clean metal right?

Thanks

RUST is this repairable?

So, I was going to drop the fuel tank, but then realized that the bolts holding the straps that hold the fuel tank are at the same place my EVAP can is, and that is rust ridden nearly beyond hope.

I replaced my EVAP can a few years ago, and one side I had to use 3M tape because the rust was so bad it ruined the bolt hole.

So, I'm afraid that if I remove the fuel strap bolts, that the bolt holes will be ruined, and I wouldn't really know what to do. Besides JB Weld? I can't hold the fuel tank with 3M tape like I did the EVAP can.

Is it possible to get this replaced at a rust remediation shop? Replacing the metal would obviously be doable, but the fact that it needs bolts in specific places is the problem.

HELP! I have a question. Is this repair flawed?

I recently got my nc2 miata repaired after accidentally backing into a pillar (first ever at fault accident) and I payed cash for the repair. I’m wasn’t expecting complete perfection but after having to go back and going a third time due to repairs being flawed, rushed, and them chipping the bumper they repainted, I’m now going to nitpick every detail because I payed $3400 to people who can’t even apologize for doing sloppy work. But the pictures in question, should the reflection be warped? It doesn’t make sense to me in old photos it wasn’t and on the other side it isn’t, so I need to know if this is something worth complaining about. Thank you for any advice you can offer.

HELP! I have a question. Can someone break it down like I'm 5?

I have a subaru (dark grey metalic). I tried fixing a chip awhile back, added bondo, applied touch up paint with the little brush thing. My plan ( liked i had seen) was to brush on the paint, sand it flat then add clear. When i tried to sand the paint went super grey. It was definitely not the bondo or haze from sanding.

My question is can i but a air brush, thin out some of the color matched paint and spray the car that way (after fully cured bondo)?

People tell me it won't work but can't really explain why. Main reason i want to do this is since i can't sand the paint i want to be able to apply it as smooth as possible. Sorry if this is a dumb question, i don't know shit about auto paint.

Is there a process to repair this? 2019 Camry rear bumper won't snap in after replacing retainer - best fix?

Thumbnail

The rear bumper on my 2019 Toyota Camry sticks out slightly where it meets the quarter panel.

I replaced the plastic bumper retainer, but one tab still won't snap in. The tab looks intact but is slightly bent inward. I tried bending it back, but it still doesn't catch.

I also previously hammered out a small dent in the quarter panel from inside the trunk, so I'm wondering if I affected the alignment. Even when I push the bumper all the way in, it slightly overlaps the quarter panel.

Two questions:

  1. Does this look like a bent bumper tab or a quarter panel alignment issue? What's the easiest fix?
  2. Would a PDR specialist or body shop be better for fixing this cheaply without replacing the bumper?

Photos attached. Appreciate any advice!

So my clear coat seems to be peeling on my trunk, roof, and a couple other small spots. What can I do here to fix/alleviate this? I’d rather not go to a paint shop, but I also don’t have any knowledge in fixing this.

And do you think I can wet sand it out? There are some runs from the base coat I can see
