Help! Contract mismatch, advice needed.

• Upvotes

Hi!
I recently shipped my car from TX to NH using a very reputable company. I paid in full as required in my contract and my car was delivered less than a week later. Upon delivery, the driver informed me that his contract states that he will be paid in cash for the delivery and refused to release the car (understandably). Having already paid the logistics company in full, I refused the payment to the driver and called the logistics company. They made it seem like this is a common occurrence. How am I supposed to get my car now? Is there anything I can do or do I just wait for the driver and the logistics company to work it out?

General/Other Auto transport advice??

Anyone figure out a legit way to navigate the wild west ways of the auto transport industry? I have to ship a vehicle 600 miles and every place a good search takes you to is a dispatch company that requires a down payment just to book the actual delivery company. And usually the delivery company wants cash on delivery for their share that always ends up being higher than what the dispatch originally quoted you so they kind of have your nuts in a ringer if you don't pay the alternate amount on delivery. And that's after the dispatch company tells you they had delivery drivers cancel on them and delay the whole process from the beginning.

Would rather use an insured driver than a transport service, but would consider transport in the right scenario. Will have some of my family’s belongings in the back of the vehicle.

Looking for quotes.

Bad Review I wouldn’t use Ship a Car Direct Again (0/10): will leave you stranded with 0 communication

tl:dr I am moving from NJ to CA in less than a day, and I have followed up 5-6 times without one call back

  1. signed and put down a deposit on 10/5
  2. without prior approval or authorization, they increased the quote by $175
  3. confirmed driver on 10/16, promised a call on 10/16 or 10/17 from the carrier for pickup on 10/17
  4. carrier no-shows, I was promised more than 5x throughout the entire day that I would be receiving a call back
  5. 0 apology, 0 calls back and an entire saturday wasted waiting for someone to call me back
  6. call back AGAIN this morning, with the operator asking ME to directly contact a new carrier?
  7. agreed that is the auto brokers job to organize a pickup… so I’m waiting for a call back now

I’ve had to ship cars coast-to-coast more times I’d like to admit, this is the worst broker I’ve used in terms of communication and accountability - AVOID!

I’m now 1 day away from a move, and still don’t have a confirmed pickup for my car. If anyone has any advice to save the day, please let me know.

Looking for info Shipping from CA to TN

Hi people- looking for advice. I need to ship my car (2020 Porsche) from Los Angeles to Nashville. I’ve gotten the following quotes:

US Auto Transpo - $700 (ain’t no way.. have used them before, they withheld my vehicle upon delivery unless I paid another $1700, said if I refused to pay they would happily keep my car, which was brand new at the time.)

HippoHaul - $1798 (I like them so far bc no charge until carrier is confirmed

Mazzy Express - $1400 ($300 upfront, $1100 COD. Contract says $150 of deposit is reimbursable if I cancel but they won’t confirm a carrier until I make the upfront payment. Guy has been very helpful and responsive, but we haven’t spoken by phone & contract says they partner with Aslam LLC which is not BBB accredited/can’t find any info on. He also let me know he has an AI assistant replying to messages, the AI said there would be no price increase and then he corrected it. Idk. They have good reviews, but almost too good? They all sound kinda similar, as if they’re paid/promted.)

Roadways Moving - $1998

Thoughts/experiences? I need to get this booked today or tomorrow. Thanks!

Good Review My Review of Wayfinder/Front Line.

I thought wayfinder itself was a independent trucking company or mabye they are.. but i was helped my joel in his team to be rerouted to Front Line Transport inc for my car to be shipped to vegas from IL, and it was kinda semi short notice too

They picked up on the day i asked.

They were flexible with me to wait till i arrived to the pickup site to get my car.

Thanks wayfinder and front line.

Looking for info Moving cars Greece to US?

Hey US citizen, I want to move two of my cars over to FL, have you used any companies to do so?
I am guessing a 40ft container with 2 cars strapped down in it.
Any random advice abt it?
Covering seats steering wheel, low gas, maybe temp PPF on fenders so can be walked around in container?
How are they strapped down?
I am near Cape Canaveral, so ship to Jacksonville or Miami?

Looking for info Transport suggestions from 28227 to 90061 (NC to CA)

I need to get my mums car back to CA. I’ve narrowed down to the following based on reviews on this thread (posts and comments) to:

Hippohaul
Graham
Goliath
Liberty Road logistics
If anyone feels strongly about adding another pls do!

I’m looking for people who have used each to share their experience. We’ve never done this and the alternative is driving it ourselves but wanted to see this route first. Thanks in advance!

Don't really care if it takes a week or two to get here but I will need it picked up on 10/20 or I face a $50 day storage fee. Anyone have suggestions on a good provider ? Debating whether I should fly up one way and drive it down

Bad Review Montway Auto

Don’t book with Montway Auto. They picked my car up Monday. They told me it would be here by the 14th. The 14th comes around no car. I noticed my car had been in Vancouver WA for 2 days and when I asked about it I was told “sometimes the drivers don’t update the tracker” next day I asked when will my car be here I was told the 15th no car. I then called them and they told me they do not know where the car or driver is. I then was informed they had just left Wa state and should be on their way to Az now. 5 days later…..

Help! does seasonal pricing significantly change car shipping cost?

Quoted for the same car on the same route two months apart. $730 in June, $880 in August. 20% increase, nothing changed. Is car shipping cost really this seasonal or is this company testing what I'll pay.

Looking for info BC -> Alberta

I am looking to have a vehicle transported from Salmon Arm, British Columbia to Lethbridge or Calgary, Alberta. I was originally quoted $800CAD for a dealership to have someone drive the vehicle and a chase car to take him back home. That has since been increased to $1500 for the same deal. The delivery is relatively quick, 1-2 days from signing a deal. Is this reasonable?
