Canuck here- I want to be able to live and work in the EU, import more EU cars, and to wholesale become Europe's one stop shop for all its energy and critical minerals needs.

Oh we have cool water bombers. You can buy a bunch of those too if you want.

Work How much paid and unpaid leave do you get to grieve in your country?

I live and work in the United States. Recently I lost my mother and I’ve been struggling with the motivation to perform a lot of responsibilities that really don’t seem important after losing the woman who birthed and raised me.

One of those things is work. I work for a very generous company by U.S. standards. Our company policy gives 1 week of paid bereavement leave. I have a great relationship with my supervisor. He said I could have as much time as I need. I don’t want to jeopardize my job though, so I only took 2 weeks off. I’m not sure if the second week is paid and I really don’t care at this point.

My question for you is, how long does the average person in your country get to take off work, without risk of losing their job, when they lose a parent, spouse, child, sibling or other loved ones? Is that leave paid or unpaid?

Politics If all of the cars in the developed world suddenly became EVs overnight, how do you think Europe would be affected?

This is an interesting thought experiment I had. For this, let's say America, Canada, Europe, China, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan all suddenly saw their cars transform into EVs overnight. The electric grid systems are all magically upgraded as well to handle the additional demand.

How do you think Europe would be affected, both societally and politically? Would the Ukrainian war end almost overnight? Would Russia no longer be able to militarily threaten the rest of Europe due to a (I assume) collapse in oil revenue?

Let's split this into two scenarios:

Scenario A) Most of this sudden spike in demand for electricity is fueled by natural gas

Scenario B) Most of this sudden spike is fueled by renewables

This isn't solely focused on just Russia either. Do you think your country will be impacted by the spillover effects in the Middle East?
