2022 vs 2026!
I fear these took around the same amount of time

They will be removed. Asking for advice on your sub appropriate post is welcomed and encouraged, but this is NOT a sub for works in progress.

I forced myself to draw faces everyday for a week because I had been avoiding drawing faces FOR A YEAR 💀💀💀
For some reason I would always end up overthinking how complicated drawing a face could be that I ended up overwhelming myself every time... and ended up not doing it. lmao, this is so embarrassing to confess
So to finally stop with this irrational fear of messing up when I draw, I forced myself to draw full faces every day, and like yeah some days I would begin to draw and everything looked like shit, but at least I was drawing instead of avoiding it again right?
I still worry that my art looks really ugly or uncanny valley, but like... not doing it won't make my art better, so all I really have left to do is to raw dog it and keep drawing until I don't worry about that anymore
Idk why I'm going into such a long rant, but I think I'll keep drawing faces on a daily basis, its kinda fun now. Anyway, I sleep now, goodnight every1

The first 7 images are from Procreate. I later switched to paper because it felt more natural to me. Images are in chronological order.
Yoshitaka Amano is my favorite artist. I copy his work first, then try to redraw it from memory.
My goal is to learn from him, find my own style, keep practicing, learn different things and eventually become an artist. This is my first post in this subreddit , and I’ll keep documenting my journey. Welcome any feedback!

I used to be terrible at drawing. I couldn’t make anything I was satisfied with, and I couldn’t make anything cool. I ESPECIALLY couldn’t make anything I’d ever share with others.
Until I started embracing what made my art mine. I found other artists who had grotesque art styles so I could learn technique, and I found people who entertained others by making the most rancid thing ever seen by human eyes.
I did one caricature sketch, and bang, I found my artistic calling. Then I just kept studying and practicing and getting better! And I had so much fun doing it!
Here’s my progress over the past few years.
Don’t get me wrong I’m not terribly good, but I’m good at making something terrible to look at :D
So don’t get discouraged if your art is unconventional. There are people who will like it :)

I created an old logo for a friend of mine two years ago and wanted to suprise them by redoing it before they graduated :]
Thought about changing the hognose morph but I decided against it to keep reference to the old design more
