Giving Away - Local Pickup Only [GA] Orange County, CA - Special Needs Betta

Hello, I have a special needs rescue betta I'm looking to adopt out, Autumn. Autumn was surrendered to me for free by Petsmart due to her condition. She has a floating problem that occasionally appears to resolve itself for about a day before she goes back to floating. I've tried fasting, epsom salt baths, and metroplex (both in food and dosed in the tank).

I even took her to the vet recently to see if the doctor could diagnose her, and he said she's too little to do diagnostic work on but that her issues are likely due to an antomical issue or a tumor.

Because of her special circumstances, I would like to see her go to an experienced home that feels comfortable with the fact that they may have to make quality of life/end of life considerations soon. Currently she is active with a good appetite, but it's very possible that this may not be true for long. Of course, it's also possible that she may get better! I just can't be certain.

Currently, she has figured out that positioning herself under decor or wedging herself between things will prevent her from floating, so she does that when she wants to stay under the water.

If you're interested, please DM me with proof of a proper setup, details (ex: the temperature you keep the tank at), and a little bit about your experience with bettas.

Thanks!

For Sale - Local Pickup Only [FS] - Haymarket, VA - $1500 OBO - Complete Breeding Operation: Longfin Snow White Bristlenose Plecos, Neocaridina Shrimp, Tanks, Equipment & Shelving

Thumbnail
gallery
7 Upvotes

I've recently started a new job and unfortunately no longer have the time I once did to dedicate to my Snow White Bristlenose Pleco breeding operation. Rather than letting the operation sit underutilized, I've decided to sell the entire setup to someone who can continue breeding and developing these fish.

This is a complete, established, ready-to-breed operation featuring multiple proven breeding pairs, Longfin and Shortfin Snow Whites, Lemon Snow White gene carriers, Neocaridina shrimp colonies, grow-out tanks, shelving, and an extensive collection of spare equipment and supplies.

At the peak of my breeding operation, I was selling approximately 50–80 Snow White Bristlenose Plecos per month, along with hundreds of Neocaridina shrimp. I've spent considerable time developing these colonies, refining the breeding setups, and raising multiple generations of fish. While my production and sales have slowed due to work commitments, the operation has an established history of successful breeding. Historical sales are not a guarantee of future production.

Breeding Philosophy & Genetics

One of my priorities throughout this breeding project has been developing and maintaining strong, genetically diverse Snow White lines rather than simply maximizing production.

To accomplish this, I've incorporated Lemon Bristlenose Plecos carrying the Snow White gene into my breeding program. My goal has been to introduce and maintain genetic diversity within the breeding population while preserving the desirable Snow White characteristics.

Rather than exclusively breeding Snow Whites back to Snow Whites over successive generations, I've utilized these Lemon gene carriers as part of a selective breeding strategy intended to reduce excessive inbreeding and support the long-term health and viability of the line.

The operation includes both male and female Lemon Snow White gene carriers, along with established Snow White breeders and younger fish at various stages of development. This gives the next breeder flexibility to continue working with the existing lines and selectively develop future generations.

Asking $1,500 OBO for everything – Local pickup in Haymarket, VA.

BONUS – 10 Gallon Aquarium Setup

Also included with the complete purchase:

  • 10G aquarium
  • Glass lid
  • Aqueon preset heater
  • AquaClear/Fluval hang-on-back filter

About the Operation

I've invested a significant amount of time into establishing these breeding colonies and developing a breeding program that balances production with genetic diversity.

The operation includes proven breeding adults, younger fish approaching breeding age, and juveniles at various stages of development. There is also plenty of spare filtration, equipment, and supplies to support future expansion or additional grow-out tanks.

With the shelving included, this is an opportunity to acquire an established breeding operation rather than starting from scratch.

I'm selling because my new job requires more of my time, and I can no longer give this breeding project the attention it deserves. I'd much rather see the colonies go to someone who is enthusiastic about continuing the work.

I'm looking to sell everything together as one complete package. I'm not interested in parting out individual fish, tanks, or equipment at this time.

Price & Pickup

$1,500 OBO for the complete operation.

  • Located in Haymarket, Northern Virginia
  • Local pickup only
  • Shelving, aquariums, livestock, filtration, and all listed equipment included
  • Buyer should be prepared to safely transport multiple aquariums, equipment, shelving, and live fish
  • Additional photos and information available upon request
  • Reasonable offers considered for the complete package

I'll be including pictures of the breeding colonies, individual tanks, livestock, shelving, and additional equipment.

Feel free to comment or send me a message if you're seriously interested or have any questions. I'd love to see this operation go to another hobbyist or breeder who can continue developing these lines!

Kamloops BC jack dempsy for rehoming . He was given to me from a friend with a community tank due to him being too aggressive for other chiclids smaller than him , my tank is too small for him to live in permanently and chiclids just aren't my thing, but I think he needs a solo 30 gallon tank for himself or to be around chiclids similar to his size.

If interested and in the location message me at 2503189705 or dm me thank you

Have an Apogee SQ-520 sensor I bought last March that’s in the original shipping box and never opened. I never got around to using it.

Open to selling it for a slight discount and willing to cover shipping. I believe this is used for lighting monitoring in aquariums by reef hobbyists but if you have any suggestions on hobbyist subreddits where this is more relevant or have any thoughts please lmk!

Thanks for reading.
