I covered New Leaf's Halloween theme a few years ago. It's one of my favorite Halloween songs across any medium, so I had a lot of fun with it. (Linking it below, I'd love a few listens/adds to playlists/etc!)

Anyways, it also introduced me to the Gamecube version. Which New Horizons sounds more like, actually. The Gamecube theme is hilarious. It sounds, for lack of a better word, like a shitpost. Which isn't a dig, I love it! But it just sounds so weird. It took my by surprise, as City Folk's Halloween sounds a like New Leaf, whereas the Gamecube one has some melodic differences as well as sounding, well, weird.

Anyways, that's my thoughts. What's your favorite Animal Crossing Halloween theme?

The last Animal Crossing I played was on the GameCube (all the way back in the early 2000’s).

Yesterday, I got the Switch2 and immediately got ACNH. I’ve played it for a couple hours, and was curious if there are any tips?

When I was a kid playing on the GameCube I would fast-forward dates to get buildings to complete sooner, but I don’t want to risk that with this game. I’ve been gathering Cherries and weeds and selling them to one of the baby Nooks. Tom Nook said my new house will be ready tomorrow.

Is there anything for me to do in the meantime? Is the game slow in the beginning? Is there a game guide I should look at for all the changes since I played the original?

Im pretty new to ACNH. I got it in July and played it pretty regularly until September when I got crazy busy. I want to get back into it but I’m feeling kinda meh about the whole situation 😂 I’m not a huge fan of my island, I see people with exciting fruits and I have boring old apple. And I see people getting all these cool villagers. with fun personalities, I didn’t realise you could go out and find different villagers, I thought you just accepted the first villagers you could find. I don’t mind Biff and Cherry, but the rest are pretty meh (Fuchsia, Flurry, Patty and Victoria) and I reeeeeeally don’t like Graham and Mathilde.

So now I’m torn… do I reset my island and start again? Or do I just renovate it and somehow get rid of the villagers I don’t like? I’m leaning towards not restarting because I finally caught a tarantula and a coelacanth the other day and I know how bloody hard they are to get 😂 Also trying to convince myself that restarting is only going to please the perfectionist side of my ADHD, I should really just muddle through and try to slowly chip away at making it better. But also instant gratification 😫😂

Also what do you do for fun on your islands? I was enjoying the little tasks I had in the beginning like improving my image and building houses etc but now I have no tasks and it’s up to me to do whatever I want to do. I usually end up so overwhelmed with choice (why, yes I do have ADHD) I just end up building furniture for Kapp’n or hyperfixating on catching all the creatures for the month 😂 Which is fine like it passes the time and I enjoy it but is there more to ACNH that I’m missing? I do enjoy it but I feel like there’s a whole world out there I have no idea about 😂 Where do you find the best info? Nookipedia? Animal Crossing Wiki? Or somewhere else?

I’ve only just learned about the whole world of turnips and boy did I get burned the first time I tried that 😂 I’ve been enjoying reading about ACNH and different things I can do, like I’m defs keen to start flower breeding and farming, but also need a lot more research because my crops aren’t going so we’ll, I’m guessing I have to plant them further apart.

I was looking up some reviews on NH recently, and a lot of people are saying that some new 3.0 update made the game feel very bad to play. I also heard that a new AC game will be coming out pretty soon for Switch 2.

I haven't really played a game like ACNH yet (though I do own Pokopia but I'm waiting for my bday to unpack it) unless you count low quality stuff like Galaxy Life or Farm Frenzy, I'm not too familiar with the "build and maintain your own hub space" genre of games. Is it worth getting? If I want the physical edition, I'd probably have to cough up like $80 where I'm at, nothing cheaper (and no, I don't live in US).

I know it is a weird question...

But since I have all Animal Crossing videogames, and I am feeling down because depression and anxiety (I am medicated, etc), I am wondering which one of them dedicate myself for a while.

Max two options.

So, which one do you prefer or think is better to play when the mood is bad?

I have the switch 2 but I’m using the original switch game. Is it worth it to spend the money and get the switch 2 game edition? Do u still get the hotel with the switch 1 version?

I finally finished my list of dreamies for my town core/kidcore forever island. I only have 7, since I already have 3 dreamies. On my island, each villager has a job/talent to contribute to our community.

- Graham: inventor/tech expert (already have)
- Stitches: toy factory owner (already have)
- Papi: gardener/botanist (already have)

Dreamies list:
- Derwin: comic book library owner
- Pudge: mailman/UPS
- Jacob: woodworker/contractor
- Shep: paleontologist
- Henry: ichthyologist (fish scientist)
- Doc: gyroid scientist/manufacturer (he creates the gyroids as experiments and once they’ve passed tests, he distributes them to the community and other villagers)
- Walker: ???

What’re your thoughts on my dreamies? I don’t really care about personalities (smug and lazies as my favs), it’s all just vibes.

My first Animal Crossing was City Folk. Now I did play the game cube version before. But I only played it a few times. So that doesn’t count for me. I got City Folk for Christmas when I was in eighth grade. I played and immediately fell in love with Animal Crossing. Which game was your first?

I’ve been trying to move Julia in with an Amiibo.
On the 3rd day when scanning in the amiibo I got the message that I can’t speak to her right now. I was confused and thought she might be at the hotel so I went to check and there she was. She did not know me as a hotel guest.
I was scared it might’ve messed up her campsite streak but it didn’t.
She’s now moving onto my island but these were some funny odds that the exact villager I’m trying to move in is suddenly at the hotel.

i had a habit of restarting every few weeks and decided to make this island my forever island. I've made so mant happy memories on here. i even played with my stepmom on xmas and after opening gifts we drank coffee at the roost. i hope i get to enjoy this island for so much longer !!
