Hi,
While the Moderators of r/androidroot have a generally moderate stance on AI, when it comes to devices worth potentially thousands, we are uninterested in allowing it to provide false information.
To clarify, AI content/promotion is not permitted on r/androidroot, and this has been a rule for some time. Using AI to make guides, recommending the use of AI to attempt to solve issues, and posting AI generated comments are prohibited.
We believe in minimising the spread of misinformation. AI models are not reliable when it comes to factual information yet. It’s also often known to make things up when it has no answer. No resources for rooting an obscure Android device? It’ll make it up based on other information that it deems most likely to be useful. AI, in this state, is not suitable for rooting. It presents too much unmitigated risk, and we will not hold ourselves responsible for the damage caused by content posted on this subreddit.
If you have any questions regarding the rule, comment. However, the decision on this is final.
Thanks for reading.

Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a project I've been developing with the help of Claude. As someone who frequently changes ROMs and custom recoveries, I always found it tedious to manually search through different websites and forums to find the correct, up-to-date files for specific devices.
To solve this, I built ForgeROM—a fully open-source Android application designed to automate this entire workflow.
🚀 Key Features:
• Multi-API Automation: It queries the official APIs of LineageOS, crDroid, TWRP, and OrangeFox to instantly locate the correct, official files for your model.
• Smart Recommendations (AI Integration): Includes an optional AI module that can assist you during the process (requires your own custom API key).
• Root Mode Installation (Experimental): Features a built-in flashing mechanism via root access. Please note: This feature is highly experimental and hasn't been heavily tested yet, so use it with caution.
• 100% Free & Open Source: No ads, no tracking, and no paid paywalls.
📦 Source Code & Downloads:
The project is completely transparent. You can inspect the source code, build it yourself, or download the pre-compiled .apk directly from the GitHub Releases section:

I tried to run banking apps several times on lineage 24 and all methods not working despite same modules were working before on stock rom
may be the rom is the reason?!

I have a Fire HD8 12th generation. Device:raspite, Model:KFRAWI, Firmware:8.3.3.8
Its susceptible to ghostlock. There's an xda forum post about getting temp root.
There's also a magisk install and start service script. It was for the wrong model but after I verified everything was the same changed the model to KFRAWI. all scripts were written for windows so I ported all scripts in to bash for Linux. After you have magisk SU you can use the Fire Tool Box to remove all Amazon related apps and OTA updates and install Google Play Services and Google Play Store. Install your launcher of choice and just disable the Amazon fire launcher from SU shell. The tablet falls back to your installed launcher of choice. Very pleased this tablet went from an Amazon add filled sack of trash to a near regular rooted android tablet. I have ZygiskNext and Vector with a couple of modules working no problem.
If you want my compiled Linux Ghostlock temp root and temp Magisk root and manager. I guess dm me.

realme patched the GhostLock path in the COOS17 update, but the kernel is still vulnerable to CVE-2026-64560 (UAF, posix-cpu-timers vs non-leader exec(); fix 920f893f735e only landed in 6.6.147).
I ported the fork to the RMX6699 (RE6400L1, SM8750, kernel 6.6.118-android15-8-g9bc34d5b0c79) and built a one-tap app around it.
What it does: leak the KASLR slide → forge a fake misc fops table → open /dev/uhid → real uid=0 + SELinux permissive + temp-su broker. Nothing is written to any partition, and it's gone after a reboot.
Requirements: realme RMX6699 on that exact kernel, plus Shizuku started (the payload's first gate opens /dev/uhid, so it has to run as shell uid 2000). Not for other devices/kernels.
Reliability: it's a race — expect retries; a miss needs a reboot.
APK + source: https://github.com/totsiaw/cve-2026-64560-rmx6699 (rolling app-latest release, or build it yourself)
⚠ Kernel exploit, it can panic/reboot the device.

EDIT: Temporary gitlab link by Evoker0: https://gitlab.com/Evokerr/AlwaysStrong/-/releases
Evoker0's github account was suspended a few hours ago, right as I wanted to try and use it since specter isn't working for me. Does anyone have a backup link?

Need help getting temporary root on a Galaxy Z Flip 6 (April security patch) to restore legacy app data. Both Ghostlock and RootMyGalaxy report the device is unsupported. In Ghostlock, parsing only works for boot.img—the other two image files return an error stating the imgs are not Android files.Any advice or workarounds?
Help is much appreciated.

I don't want to root my phone due to banking apps. But I want to change this. I've tried some Shizuku methods but it didn't work due to oneplus/oppo/realme system restrictions...

this app just sucks. I saw on github that I had to remove the partitions, so I did and kept trying to have the patched magisk boot on my phone but I had no success. So I went to rescue my phone and THIS is what always pops up or happens. That, or the one that says "unstable network. please try again later." EVERY SINGLE TIME. Please someone help me.

Phone and rom in pic i have magisk root

Soo, Google released a new update recently absolutely destroying integrity, they check for more than integrity and (spoofed) locked bootloader so it's become WAY more tricky, yes it shows strong for you but don't fret on it one clear app data and it's gone,
What's the solution? I don't know.. for now it's just like that until devs come up with an idea
