If your neighbor is *50*, she's not going to text like you. A middle aged woman saying what she said might be doing so in a totally unjudgemental way. It *is* unusual. How many people do you think get asked by their neighbor even once in their lifetime to go check their oven?
Your response is weirdly defensive and awkward. She just seems like she texts like someone not especially young or "text-y".
You also left her on read for ages. If you responded with something like "I know, sorry! The key is under my shoes, no rush, just let me know when you get a chance. Thank you so much. :)" was a much more normal response.
I really dont get how many people are calling this innocuous moment of forgetfulness unusual and strange. And I don’t even get the dry texting boomers do. When you talk to hem they don’t even talk like that.
She said "lol thats a strange request". How are you, and OP, having some kind of mental breakdown about a completely normal innocent response.
Have you ever been asked to go over to a neighbors house, who's not home, to look at their stove before?
I'm not saying I wouldn't, of course I would, but to say "lol strange request" is not the offense you think it is. I would recommend maybe try growing up. <3

You're the weird one here.

How the fuck does she get into your apartment?
