At 38 I’m still thankful to have escaped from the hell dimension that was my adolescence being surrounded by lethal violence and abuse.
I had the responsibility of protecting my family from attempted murderers twice in my adolescence. I have yet to experience more responsibility, stress, and literal life or death stakes than that.

Idk, I can do what I want most days and not have to ask someone for money or permission.

I mean unless you were a spoiled kid or a failure of an adult being an adult is 10000x better than being a kid.
As an adult, all you have to do is cover the bills. Other than that, all your time, money, resources, and relationships can be made up of whatever you choose.
I’ll take having control over my life over being a child any day.

this is a blissfully ignorant take

My childhood sucked, helicopter Christian parents.
That said, I don't see why it's so alien to see why people would prefer having true freedom, more money and being able to go to 18+/21+ events. Hell, I find work less annoying than school.

I mean it’s a give and take. No responsibilities back then meant no freedom either. I’ll take the responsibilities just to be able to do what I want

Being an adult is basically missing your childhood while wishing you were older back then ðŸ˜

I agree and im only 20. Yeah you have more freedom as an adult, but it comes at the cost of having so much more stress like having way more responsibility like learning how to be independent and figuring what I wanna do with my life. It's all so scary to figure out and it just makes me the most stressed and depressed I have ever been in my life which leaves me filled with dread whenever I think about my future.
