I am having a hard time trying to figure out if my scars are mostly boxcar scars or icepick scars? I would like to know so that I could decide on which treatment I would be getting. Thanks peeps!

[Skin Concern] Atrophic Scarring 1 month on Adapalene 0.1% + Skincare. How should I approach these mild icepick scars and shallow texture irregularities?

hi everyone,
im new posting here and imlooking for some honest advice on how to treat my residual acne scars and skin texture.

Current Routine & Context:

Time on current routine: 1 month.

AM: Gentle Cleanser (CeraVe) + Sunscreen (SPF 50).

PM: Gentle Cleanser + Moisturizer + Adapalene 0.1% (full face)

Status: Active acne has reduced, but I still get occasional breakouts, so I know my acne isn't 100% cleared yet.

My concerns:…

As you can see in the photos, I have some mild shallow icepick scars and surface texture irregularities mainly on my cheeks. I'm a student on a budget, so I want to avoid overly aggressive or unnecessary expensive packages from clinics 😓😓.

I would highly appreciate your advice 🫡

I have had acne scars for over a decade. Which treatments would improve texture and reduce severity over a 4-6 month period?

Is some of this PIH?

[Skin Concern] Atrophic Scarring Atropic acne scar treatments

Hi everyone!

I had a severe acne breakout last year due to some underlying medical issues. Thankfully, my acne eventually cleared up, but it left behind a lot of scarring that I’m still struggling with.

Initially, most of the marks were post-inflammatory erythema (PIE), but over time, I also developed atrophic acne scars, particularly on my cheeks. I have a combination of small, deeper scars and rolling or shallow depressions, along with persistent redness.

It has been several months since the breakout settled, and although my skin has improved in some ways, the scarring is still quite noticeable, especially under harsh lighting. I’m hoping to find treatments that can make a meaningful difference over time.

I’ve attached photos of my skin for reference. I would really appreciate advice from anyone who has dealt with similar scarring or has experience with professional acne scar treatments.

I would really appreciate any and all advice.
