Official October 17/18, 2026, ACT US Discussion

Feel free to use this space as a place to discuss all iterations of the October test, potential curves, or as an excuse to just blow off steam. You can use this space for Saturday OR Sunday for US testers.

Discussions of the test are allowed by r/ACT's rules, but participating in such discussion may violate the terms to which you agreed when you registered for the ACT.

Initial scores are scheduled for release on October 27. October is a My Answer Key date, so if you ordered it, your copy of the questions and answers will appear in MyACT after scores release.

The next test will be December 12th, and registration is already open (deadline November 6).

TIME TO BURN THE ACT PREP!!

As a senior, this ACT is my final one. I’m pretty sure I didn’t do better because of my reading score. Whatever I’m just happy to get this done with anyway. No matter what score I get on this test, I’m going to burn all my prep materials either way. It has definitely been a rough five months for sure. I’m so glad to see this ACT era is coming to an end. Even though it’s been awful and definitely draining, it will be memorable regardless.

(should’ve taken the SAT instead)

General Kid Left???

Hello!

I took the October ACT today, and immediately after the English section, a kid spoke with the proctor and immediately left- like, literally grabbed his stuff and nervously left the room. The proctor didn't say anything, and I took all the sections, but even after writing, he didn't say anything at all. Should I be worried about cancellations? Is it possible the kid just didn't want the test to be scored and just left?

General I fucking hate uber

Rideshare made me miss my last chance at a competitive ACT score.

I had to get to my testing center by 8am (before doors closed) and bought my uber at 7:20!!!!!!

Didn’t notice that while I was eating breakfast the uber had completely stopped moving. I texted and called him and he wouldn’t respond or anything.

I tried to cancel and get a new one, got hit with a cancellation charge, and the new wait time would get me there 15 minutes late.

I had a one-time exception fee waiver and missed my last chance to take the ACT as a senior. This is so frustrating y’all have no idea

32 ACT to Brown

• Upvotes

This is a Hail Mary but Brown has always been my dream school and I plan to apply ED for a humanities based major. My current ACT composite is a 32 (34 English, 26 Math, 36 Reading) — my English and reading scores are within Brown’s average range but my math is clearly the outlier. I’ve studied extremely hard but 26 is the highest score I’ve gotten since I’ve always struggled with math. Hopefully I’ll raise that with the October ACT but if not, am I cooked with that embarrassingly low math score? I’m not applying for a STEM degree and I know Brown’s admission is holistic, but I’m nervous since my score lies below the average.

Didn’t get scores back?!!

I took the act the same day as the national test date for September, but I had special accommodations because I got sugery and needed to get up every 30 ish minutes, as well I already have time and a half. I thought I did super well on this test and was super excited to get my scores back, but still haven’t gotten them because my proctor apparently didn’t. Write down my start and finish time
I am incredibly frustrated because I studied for over 6 months for this test and it is the last test I will get back ( with my accommodations) before the November 1st deadline !! What do I do I desperately need the scores back have already Called act and tried contacting the place where I took the act HELP

Math Doomed

I've been practicing math nonstop, my tutor confirmed I'm super solid on all my sections of math, so why can't I exceed 28?? All the practice tests I've taken are all <30 for math but I have 36 and 35 for reading and English... I don't understand what else I can do :(( I just practice my "weak areas" but I'm pretty equal in all of them. And when I go over missed questions it's always "ohhh duh" but it never sticks. ig this is more of a cry for help LOL Idk what else I can do

Experimental passage for reading

I skipped the whole second passage bcus I was so confident that it was the experimental. The third sound one was on my earlier school test so I thought it can’t be experimental bcus it already appeared. Which one is it?

Form K09, experimental is passage 2/3

As per the guidelines in the framework, no VQT can be with a comparison passage so either 2 or 3 is experimental. 100%
