Introduced my wife to the 80 series and she’s had her eyes out for one. I came across this gem on fb marketplace for 9k! 199k miles. Drives like a tank and it’s exactly what I wanted to see her in. Only problem is now I want one 😂

Your daily reminder that if you spend 50$ on an idle air control valve you will have neither 50$ or a working idle air control valve.

Ordered a "DriveBolt" idle air control valve from parts geek to try and solve my P0505 code. Installed the coolant hoses and immediately coolant was leaking at the base of the part where the silver hose connector comes out. Didnt even get to put everything back together but from what ive read now it would have idled like shit anyways. Guess I'm just going to clean the old one and hope it fixes the issue.

So basically i bought a 2002 4runner 2wd in march of 2026. I haven’t had a large amount of problems just small things like oil sending unit, a few sensors here and there. My TPS and MAF sensors went out at the same time causing “limp mode” bought the correct parts and installed them. I am still having awful gas mileage, so atp i’m not sure what to do. I also have some kind of weird suspension problem? The truck starts to vibrate at around 45mph and continues to get worse, at 65 it’s to the point it’s hard to see out of mirrors because they shake so bad. When i reach 70 it’s still vibrating but a weird clunking noise happens too. The mufflers are cut so it’s hard to hear but when i’m coming to a stop or slowly speeding up there’s weird clanking noises on the passenger side. This started happening in July but all of a sudden got worse. I’m not sure what it could be because upper and lower balljoints have been replaced and I don’t have any issues with my tires. The truck is on a 4 inch lift but I didn’t have any issues up until 4 months after i got the lift so i’m just not sure what else I can do. I can’t afford a shop prices are insane. I have the resources available to fix it from home, just can’t pinpoint the problem!!!

Bought a new to me 4 runner 01 and it had no issues up until recently. When accelerating it doesn’t seem to want to shift from 1st to 2nd up until 3k rpm! Any other gear it’s shifts great and smoothly around 2k not sure what it is. When wot from stop it will just hang on 1 st gear all the way up to redline which sucks and I’m stumped! Any help or advice will help.

I thought I’d share some close up pictures of what the spoiler looks like just in case someone was looking for better photos than what’s out there.

I’m planning on changing the front rotors and pads on my 99 base model with 15 inch wheels. I’ve figured out which rotors I’ll need to purchase, but I’m having trouble finding any specifics regarding the pads. I can’t seem to find online which pads will fit correctly. Of course I can always remove a wheel and check myself, but before doing that I wanted to ask if anyone here knew if the brake pad part number is dependent on wheel/ rotor size. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

My mom accidentally drained my transmission fluid out of my 1998 Toyota 4Runner SR5 3.4 I V6 engine I'm really stressed right now it has a decent amount of mileage on it and I just really need to know what the best transmission fluid I can put in it that I can get from Walmart any help is greatly appreciated please and and thank you

I’m looking to buy a remote start system for my 4Runner. What would you recommend? I plan on taking it to a professional installer so I won’t have to deal with splicing any wires myself. I don’t have much of a budget, as long as it’s good quality and has a good range for starting the vehicle remotely. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Hey everyone,

I’m chasing down a leak on the driver's side of my 3rd gen. I grabbed a quick video of where it's pooling/dripping in. It seems to be coming in right along the upper door frame/weatherstripping near the top of the A-pillar when it rains. 

Has anyone dealt with this exact spot leaking? Is this typically a failed upper door weatherstrip, a clogged sunroof drain backing up into the frame, or something else entirely?

Let me know what you checked or how you fixed it if you've run into this. Appreciate any pointers!
