/r/3DPrintedTerrain - Rule Updates
Hello, everyone!
We’ve made a few important rule updates to ensure the community stays organized and focused. Please take note of the following changes:
1. Promotional Posts:
Promotional content will now only be allowed on Fridays. Any posts promoting STLs, stores, or Crowdfunding projects should only be shared on that day. If you see a promotional post outside of friday please report it.
2. Renders are No Longer Allowed:
To keep things more grounded in the real world of 3D printing, renders (digital images or models) will no longer be allowed. Please share your actual 3D prints and photos instead!
3. 3D Printed Miniatures:
We’ve moved 3D printed miniatures to their own home over at r/PrintedMinis. Please post all miniature-related content there from now on.
Thanks for your cooperation in keeping the subreddit focused and organized! If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out.
Happy printing!

Question Good model suggestions
Hi, I'm new to 3D printing and I was wondering if anybody had any advice on good places to get prints from?
I'm struggling to find somewhere reliable and the few if downloaded haven't printed well.
Thanks

Question 1:43 / 1:44 destroyed city building
I am looking for a solid stl file for a destroyed downtown office style building(s) to use to match up with a few of my figures. Does anyone know of any files out there that would match up?

Request Looking for 3D terrain artists to help test a new marketplace and interactive tabletop planner
Hi everyone!
I'm the founder of Artifact Armoury, a new platform I've been developing for tabletop wargamers, terrain creators and miniature artists.
The idea is to bring independent 3D artists and tabletop gamers together, with a particular focus on how terrain is discovered, showcased and purchased.
One of the main features is an interactive 3D tabletop planner, where customers can build their battlefields virtually, place terrain, rotate buildings and experiment with layouts before purchasing the models.
Something I'm particularly excited about is that artists can create their own display tables, arranging their models into complete scenes to showcase their catalogue however they want it to be seen. Rather than customers browsing individual product images, they can explore a fully assembled village, battlefield, dungeon or whatever environment the artist has created.
I'm now looking for a small group of independent terrain artists to join the platform and help test it before a wider launch.
I'd particularly appreciate feedback on:
- How easy it is to upload and manage your models.
- How well your terrain works within the interactive planner.
- The ability to build your own display tables and showcase your catalogue.
- How effectively the platform presents your work to potential customers.
- What features you'd like to see added or improved.
I'm not asking anyone to create free models or do unpaid development work. I'm looking for artists interested in exploring a new way to showcase and sell their existing designs, while helping shape the platform.
It's still in development, and I'm sure there will be things that need improving. I'd much rather hear honest criticism now than launch something that doesn't work well for the people using it.
You can have a look here:
If you're a terrain artist and would like to get involved, leave a comment or send me a message.
I'd also be interested in hearing from people who regularly buy or print terrain. Would being able to explore an artist's catalogue as a complete tabletop environment make you more likely to discover and purchase their work?
Thanks for reading!

Showcase Finished painting this village set. What would you add to it?
My friend Dexter hand-sculpted this village, then painted the 3D prints himself. I scanned his originals and did the printing, so the prints are true to the sculpt.
The village is inspired by Wampanoag wetus and the period of King Philip’s War (1675-76). He was going for the feel, such as a lived-in settlement or a camp in the woods, with details like bark and plank-style walls, hide coverings lashed with cord and a stone fire ring.
Printed on a Bambu Lab A1 in PLA. Dexter painted them with dry brush and dark to light technique. Sized for 28-32mm games, but it should work for any tabletop RPG or diorama.
The village is available on MyMiniFactory if you want to print it yourself:
Exclusive Native American Village 2 STL Product Bundle by The Plunder Den
I’d like to hear what you would add to a village like this: more huts, fences, drying racks, canoes, a longhouse?
Happy to answer questions about the scanning, printing or painting, and I’ll pass painting questions on to Dexter.

Question New to printing, is this something bad enough to cancel a print?
Hey guys, I am really new to printing, I am making a piece of terrain and I believe there seems to be a support that has messed up. Should I just cancel this and take the loss? Also is there any way to avoid this sort of thing?
Thank you guys!

Showcase Masterful Dungeon Tiles Update [OC]
I am almost done with the recreation of my Dungeon Tiles.
Version 2 is going to be be the best I have ever made.
- Fully modular - A small collection of core pieces can build everything, with variants for aestethic or specialist purposes
- Sturdy - Build whole rooms/buildings/dungeons/towns and move them as complete sets or split them as you like
- Use clips and magnets interchangeably
- A unique wall system with versatility - Place walls where you want, prioritizing space for minis or easy builds. Walls can be places on top of tiles or in between
- Many more features
And in this latest video I announce my biggest undertaking yet: A fully digital Dungeon Builder with my tiles as the foundation. Build your own dungeons, print the pieces, or play in the dungeon online with your friends.

Question Need some help finding a good STL range for a village/diorama
Hi,
I’m pretty new to this and would love to build a larger village (pirate harbour or some other nice diorama) as a long-term project.
I really like the printing, assembling and painting part, but I’m honestly hopeless at designing stuff myself and also not great at finding lots of separate models that actually look like they belong together.
I’m trying Clorehaven/OpenLOCK at the moment and like it so far.
Is there a creator or range you’d recommend if I want buildings, roads, walls, scatter, furniture etc. that all work well together?
Thank you!
