Finally got to pick up my new bike on Monday! Now both the Gen 3 and the Gen 6 are sitting in the garage.

Took the Gen 6 out for a short ride, and the difference is way bigger than I expected!!

Hi There, I have a few question I'd like to ask for those that own or ridden the new 7th Gen ZX10R. I am window shopping for my first 1000cc.

• I heard they're Front / Top Heavy, Is it true? What does that do to a Bike exactly.

• What Sets the ZX10R apart from Other Japanese 1000cc Bikes

• What are some Pros and Con of the ZX10R

• Reliable? Any Known Issue(s) one should be aware of before purchasing ?

• To Owners - How much did you pay Out the Door?

Hey if anyone has any info or some guidance to getting extra bolt on power or tips and tricks for the 4th gen zx10 or stuff I don’t know about for more power or less resistance for my roll race build lmk I don’t have the full list of whats done just lmk what yall thinking

A few people asked for a complete mod list and some photos from the build, so here it is!

I’ve probably forgotten a few things — there are honestly too many modifications to remember everything. 😂

Before the rebuild, the bike had a much louder fluorescent-yellow look. For the current version, I went in a more classic direction, with the bodywork and graphics inspired by the factory colors of the ZX-7R.

The engine was also replaced with a lower-mileage stock unit as part of the overall refresh.

I’ve included a few photos showing the bike before the rebuild, during the work, and after completion.

FRAME / CHASSIS / SUSPENSION

• Frame: Original black finish stripped off, polished to a mirror finish, then given a brushed/hairline finish and clear-coated with urethane.
• Triple clamps: OEM, stripped and given the same brushed finish as the frame.
• Steering damper: Hyperpro RSC.
• Front forks: 2010 ZX-10R forks.
  • Reworked by Technix, a Japanese suspension specialist.
  • Custom Technix damping valves.
  • Kashima-coated outer tubes.

I have a 2012 Kawasaki ZX-10R (2011–2015 generation) and I'm looking to install an OEM Showa rear shock from a newer ZX-10R (2016–2025, ideally 2024/2025).

Has anyone done this swap before?

I mainly want to know if it's 100% plug & play, keeping the original linkage and mounting hardware, or if any modifications or additional parts are required.

My 2006 zx10r has been great up until now
I drove it yesterday, it drove fantastically, didn’t go too fast and didn’t get more than 200 degrees

I left it overnight in my garage, and thought nothing of it

This morning when I went to start it, it screeched extremely loudly from the front left side, started for a second and then instantly died.

Thinking it was nothing, or just a fluke, I tried to start it again. The screeching persisted, and the bike died instantly again.

I’m unsure of what to make of this, does anyone have any advice or things it could be? Thanks!

This is my 2005 ZX-10R. I’ve owned it for a while and still really enjoy riding and working on it.
Looking forward to seeing everyone’s builds and sharing some ideas here!

Hoping someone can help me out so I swapped throttle bodies on my zx10r 2017 due to high idle but NEVER in neutral just when I would but into first gear keep in mind that it would happen on a rare occasion not an everyday thing , so this leads me to swap the throttle body because that’s what was recommended to me after swapping the throttle body the bike idle hang at 3-4k rpms happens every time I start the bike to me it sounds like the butter fly’s are staying open I’ve checked for vacuum leaks and throttle cable tension so I hope someone can help problem seems worse after changing throttle body keep in mind the throttle body came with new sensors as well

I normally do a lot of research before buying a motorcycle, but this time I got convinced by a friend to buy the zx10r 2007 to replace my cbr600rr for 80% track bike, once I bought it Id to investigate a bit, and then I found multiple posts saying that gen 2 is not the best gen of this bike, lol

So far I'm in love with it, the power, brakes, etc it's a step forward compared to my cbr600rr 2006 or my s1000xr, but wondering what do you think about this model? I love the undertail pipes, I used to have a FZ6 and one characteristic that I love was the look from the back.
