I’m doing okay. Decided to meet with my manager today to talk after my shift regarding my performance. He said I may not stay after probation. However, I can fix that if I work on my mistakes in the next 5 weeks. I’m totally fine though. Not really letting it get to me. He said he believes in me and that he knows I can do it. He told me it’s possible to change his decision. I still may have a chance to stay.

I told him I can do it. And that I will show him I am worth enough to stay. He said my customer service is good and he likes my mindset.

I know I can do the job. It is just my fucking nerves

On the bright side, I am coming back to campus in January! I really look forward to it.

So for context I have depression am prescribed an SSRI. Today I had class but I didn’t feel like going. I’ve been neglecting my schoolwork since quitting weed pens (which was the only thing motivating me), I felt so sick this morning and thought maybe it was depression so I forced myself to take my med, and I just threw up. The thing exploded in my mouth too while this happened not fun. I realized it’s probably because I was starving. So whatever I mucked a lot of food in the morning like I usually do (I keep waking up starving, I am a normal weight so it doesn’t make sense). I remember I was supposed to meet this guy later but I was feeling numb before I ate. I guess I had energy after and he texts me and I get ready to go right away like. Nope I didn’t even consider going to my lecture today. One thing led to another and all of a sudden we’re having s3x and idk like I just don’t know anymore bro. Do I even like this guy? I’m already known as being a “r3t4d3d slt” on campus since I hooked up with a few guys last year and then EVERYONE found out. I’m also m0derately unattractive imo so I just feel self conscious going to school seeing ppl looking better than me so I haven’t been showing up until I feel comfortable in my appearance. Reading week sucked I got kind of fat since I quit vaping weed and somehow my appetite went insane. So yeah here I am dumb f&t sl\t having sex with guy she doesn’t even give 2 shits abt since she hasn’t done it in a while and…. This guy looked kinda cute on ig n thought I was really beautiful. To make matters worse he’s still texting me after even though I felt so insecure about my performance and couldn’t even get lubricated because I feel nothing. I was supposed to do my assignment today too but idk how when I feel nothing. I don’t even have friends at school anymore so I don’t bother showing up. I. Relying too much on AI and now I just have no motivation to even start a stupid assignment. I’m so insecure about my body, my ugly side profile, the fact that I might get overweight again that I have no brain space left to think about school. I’m on medication, I go to therapy but nothing helps me only weed which is bad and I almost fainted from pens and got sick another time so I take breaks but whenever I’m on a break I’m just dead on the inside. I thought maybe it was just me isolating myself so I link a guy (I’ve also been craving physical intimacy too), and guess what I go home and start crying after. He did nothing wrong at all, it was just me tbh. So now I need to catch up on my missed lecture, start an assignment due tomorrow, do my lecture reflection and resubmit something this week as well. I haven’t even been paying attention to due dates one class. It’s never even been this bad before. I used to skip and still manage to get everything done, now it’s just I do my best to show up and still feel behind. Oh and still show up to school tomorrow too fake a smile all day and try not to go insane during my 6 hour gap .*

Don't worry, I'm not going to take up your time with that. Frankly I doubt some people are actually in big of a crisis. I just came to get something off my chest that I could use a second opinion on.

I have actually overcome the shell and reached out to actually talk with some people instead of watching from afar and letting the fear take over. I have been blunt and straightforward with it too, no preamble or dancing around the bush. Just going up, ask if they have a moment to talk, and then ask if they're taken. The problem, and I must preface by saying it is not the people themselves, is 98.27281% of the women I approached are all in a relationship already, and I immediately backed off after wishing them well. Not gonna get in a relationship by being a homewrecker, that's never a good idea.

So I'm starting to wonder if I'm too late. If I missed the train, and I'm stuck watching everyone else enjoy the company of someone they can be close with. My guesses are they these days, it's either they're already in a relationship, or they're too busy with studies to commit to one.

Not giving up hope, though. I'm pretty confident the issue doesn't lie with me or my character, just circumstances and things outside of my control are not in my favor.

For KINE 1001 with Dr. Yuka Nakamura, what advice do you have for mind maps if you’ve taken this course before? How was the difficulty level for the very first mind map if you can remember?

I am curious about how exams are beijng conducted. few questions I had:
1. What do I need to bring?

1. I don't have physical Id, Can I bring Driver License or Electronic York Id on my phone? Should I have my student Id ready (yeah i haven't memorized it 😂 )

2. Do we write exams with pencil or pen (my university was with pencil so you could erase and fix if needed.

I will be doing Discreet Math exam if that matters.

Has anyone thats taken this course before had to do the Policy and Rights Case Study Assessment? if yes, how does it go and any tips on the assessment?

I have BIO1000 with Dr. Julie Clark and I failed the first midterm. When I took Biology in grade 11, I saw that the course was designed for you to "memorize" it and I was doing okay with the idea of memorization. Tests were often just facts drawn from the slideshows. Then it wasn't until grade 12 that I started struggling with the course itself, and so my foundation is weak.

I don't intend to drop the course nor do I want to take it in the Summer, but the purpose of this post is for me to listen to the experiences of other students and basically teach myself how to learn effectively before the upcoming midterm.

I know students don't usually do this, but I study by just rereading my notes from the slideshow until I memorize it, which is time consuming and ineffective. I do this because I'm lost on how to study for this course and I don't want to make flashcards to just look at them. Dr. Clark mentioned about studying in a group and teaching it to others, but I don't really get the chance to interact with anyone during the lecture, and I only talk to just one person.

Honestly, I don't want to fail the next midterm though or else I fail the course entirely, that's my only worry. Of course, this is the next chance to do better, but I don't want to blow it up.

Oct 19 (today), between approximately 9:40 am. and 10:13 a.m., in the Curtis Lecture Halls downstairs bathroom, I was unfortunate enough to witness someone kneeling on the floor, watching me from under a neighboring stall, who retreated and left the bathroom once I'd noticed. Keele's despressing security services claim there are no cameras near these bathrooms to check footage of people entering/exiting the area. I make this post, not really sure what else to do, as advisory for everyone to be alert and protect themselves at all times.

I'm currently a psych student at Waterloo and I'm thinking of transferring to York for speech and language sciences because I might have an easier time academically and it's better fitting for my career.

One thing I don't like about Waterloo is how all people seem to want to talk about is school and studying and I'm having a super hard time making genuine friends. How is the social scene at York? If I transferred for winter term, based on your experiences do you think I would have a super hard time finding friends?
