Looking for a Black Hills Polaris Ranger owner to test a free dump bed lift kit

Hi everyone! I’m Pablo from Progressive Automations. We’re looking for a Polaris Ranger owner to test a new electric dump bed lift kit. The opportunity is also available to owners elsewhere in the United States and Canada.

Compatible vehicles:

  • 2022–2026 Ranger SP 570
  • 2022–2026 Ranger Crew SP 570
  • 2017–2021 Ranger 500 2X4
  • 2016–2023 Ranger 570 or Crew 570
  • 2022–2024 Pro XD Mid-Size Gas or Crew Gas

We’ll provide the complete kit and cover shipping at no cost. In return, the selected tester would install it, confirm its fit and operation, share a few photos, and provide brief, honest feedback.

There’s no purchase or promotional obligation. Technical support will also be available if needed.

If you’re interested, send me a DM with your Polaris model, year, and location. Thanks!

For a whole lot of reasons, the American Songbird Conservancy should not be taken at face value. Please read the orgs shady history here: https://www.copperbeacon.org/news/seven-mile-point-asmar-sale-problems?srsltid=AU7gw4XvhJB-dMx9ojoHU02j7dwTf4GHah7hNrjvvmn-wzVxbhXw0BCs

The land is currently protected under CFA. There is no immediate threat that has been made evident.

Says a lot that AOC is willing to meet with the voters here, while Bergman hides in the swamp. Time to vote the corrupt Cajun out of office.

Upper Peninsula Oct. 6–12 - Too Late for Peak Fall Colors?

Planning a last-minute trip from Texas, and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula has always been on my list. I’m considering coming Oct. 6–12 and wondering if it’s still worth the trip for fall colors, or if most areas will already be past peak by then.

My current plan is to fly into Chicago and drive from there. Flights from Houston to Marquette or Houghton are $1,000+, so Chicago seems like the more reasonable option.

For those familiar with the UP, what would you suggest? Would Oct. 6–12 still be a good time to visit? And if so, which areas would you prioritize for the best chance of catching fall color? I guess the peninsula and pictured rocks peak a little later ?

Thanks!

Did I actually make one of the hardest Geocaches?

I’d love to get some opinions from the community on a puzzle cache I created awhile back now.

GCAMYR5 | “The ____ Cache"
https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCAMYR5

I’m genuinely curious: how difficult would experienced puzzle cachers consider this? And, more importantly, does the difficulty rating I gave it actually match the work required to completely solve it?

So far, nobody has found the cache or completely solved the puzzle, and that there hasn't been a 100% successful full solve yet.

The posted coordinates are only the starting point. The actual final coordinates are hidden behind a multi-stage puzzle.

The cache puzzle combines a whole bunch of:

  • Polynomial/root solving
  • Musical pitch classes and interval classes
  • Special relativity / time dilation
  • Some stellar astronomy and distance calculations
  • Multi-stage coordinate mathematics
  • And final DMS conversion → decimal-degree verification

You may realistically need a calculator, paper and pencil, and a fair amount of patience.

I'm especially interested in hearing from people who have solved a lot of similar D4/D5-style puzzle caches.

I'm not necessarily looking for people to solve it in this thread, I mostly want experienced cachers to look at the construction and tell me whether I've accurately represented its difficulty, but feel free to check out the actual page if you think you could.

If anyone actually manages a complete solve, I'd also be very interested in hearing which part slowed you down the most.

Title: The ____ Cache
Current status: No confirmed complete Finds or Solved(s)

So… did I accidentally create a monster? 😅
