Just sharing my opinion based on the headline because I know many people will be doing just that. Plus, it's an opinion much less about this article and more about what I feel about generative AI in games in general.
There will be a significant change for sure in that we will see development time reduce considerably once the tech is seamlessly integrated into the existing pipeline. However, what gen AI would help with is stuff very low in the priority list, like random flyer art for an open world game. More important stuff such as character design, broader environment design, and the like will still be almost entirely human-made.
So, it's just like a lumberjack upgrading from a manual saw to a chainsaw, the tech lets him do his job much faster and more efficiently but it's still the lumberjack who is the most important here as the chainsaw won't operate on its own. Not that good an analogy because I feel there will be even more human-input than what there is in this example.
It's a natural progression of technology. Things get done faster and easier whenever there's a revolution, but it's still mainly the human who is doing the things.

Yeah, Capcom said the same thing or something along the lines early ths year too, so I'm not holding my breath FOR KONAMI OF ALL PEOPLE to follow through on that.

Hayakawa believes that this will not bring a significant change to the market environment. One reason for this is that “entry barriers have already been lowered by the advancements of generic game engines and the spread of UGC (user generated content),” he explains.
I'm not sure what Hayakawa considers "significant", but I expect we could see a similar sort of popularity like we've seen with a lot of recent viral hits on PC, for the same reason that game engines have made it easier to make games. So while I doubt we'll see anything with the level of care and depth as a AA or AAA game, or anything that challenges the biggest games in terms of revenue, there'll be a lot of viral hits. Headlines will move from being "built by one person" to "built by one person in a week".
I do agree that people and creators are important for innovative work. You don't get art or creativity from a next word generator. At best you get a novel mashup of things that already exist.

But they still need to find good studios with real humans who can make games for their popular franchises, like Silent Hill or Castlevania.

I mean they have been seemingly seeing success with publishing for other good studios.
The new castlevania game is positively received

That AI won't bring a significant change to the game market. It's the title of the post.
