Some big losses

It has definitely felt like the last six months we are losing a lot of great games while getting not as good indie replacements.

u/IshwarBL 9d ago
I’d imagine some of those are doing this to dip into the Halloween sales and they’ll be back on sometime after.

u/ZigZagLax44 XBOX 9d ago
Highly recommend Crime Scene Cleaner before it leaves, it's better on PC, but it's a unique and satisfying game to complete!
1
u/traceitalian 8d ago
Some of the worst acting and writing I've ever seen.
2
u/ZigZagLax44 XBOX 8d ago
I didn't pay much attention to it, I found the gameplay fun enough to look over the plot which seemed like an afterthought anyway lol
1
u/segagamer Day One - 2013 9d ago
Why is it better on PC, what makes it so satisfying to complete?
I fell for the trap of Power Wash Simulator and didn't enjoy it - I figured this was more of the same?
3
u/DaKrazie1 Grub Killer 9d ago
Well if you don't like Powerwash, you're not gonna like Crime Scene Cleaner, so best to just find something down your alley lol
2

u/ZigZagLax44 XBOX 8d ago
I liked this way better than Powerwash, Crime Scene is a lot more forgiving with the cleaning tools especially after upgrades while Powerwash felt like I needed to get EVERY little speck.

Ouch, E33 leaving is painful. Was hoping to do a second play through at some point.
33
3
u/Left-Unit7886 9d ago
It's only been in there a year
3
u/DaKrazie1 Grub Killer 9d ago
Year and a half.
It got added to Premium or whatever back in April so I thought we'd have until next April. Guess it was just 6 months. 😭
1
u/Interesting-Quit8017 9d ago
why is plague tale leaving?
5
u/DopplerEffect93 9d ago
It comes and goes on Game Pass. I believe it was a day 1 title when it came out. It will likely be back again
2
u/mightylordredbeard 9d ago
Because whatever contract they signed with MS to have the game on the service is ending.
1
u/Themetalenock 5d ago
happened with the first one, a new plague tale usually heralds the end of the previous on gamepass
141
u/Bolt_995 9d ago
Battlefield 6 being added onto Game Pass just 10 days before the release of their very own Modern Warfare 4
16
u/LuckyRestaurant7744 9d ago
Doesn't the Ultimate subscription include EA Play? Maybe it's being added to EA Play which is why it's also included in BF6
15
u/Tobimacoss 9d ago
Yes. EA Play adds AAA games after 12 months from release.
3
u/BestRedditUsername9 9d ago
Except Split Fiction it seems :(
2
u/Tobimacoss 9d ago
Something fishy going on with that game. Like the developer specifically asked EA not to add it.
6
u/a_talking_face 9d ago
It probably still has legs and they want to get more money out of it. The price has been very sticky on PC.
1
u/BestRedditUsername9 9d ago
Does Joseph Fares even have that kind of power lol
2
u/Conflict_NZ Homecoming 9d ago
Considering It Takes Two sold over 30 million copies, yes he does.
1
u/lars_rosenberg 8d ago
Wow, I didn't realize it sold SO well. I think it's also a game with a long tail of sales because anyone who's going to search for a couch co-op game will inevitably be recommended it as there aren't many other games in that genre that can match its quality. Split Fiction probability won't match the same numbers, but as far as I could find it's selling very well too, considering it probably didn't have a huge budget. Also, it appears to have sold more copies at launch, due to It Takes Two great reputation and its own merit too (great metacritic score), which means more copies at full price and high revenues.

u/mightylordredbeard 9d ago
Not exactly 12 months. Theres no set time frame and each game is a case by case basis.

Bf6 and CoD cater to different crowds. There is a lot of overlap, sure, but the latter is much larger in fanbase iirc.
35
u/Bolt_995 9d ago
They went above and beyond with BF6 to ensure they successfully capture the COD market too (and succeeded), and a BF game outsold a COD game for the first time in 2 decades last year.
26
u/2Kortizjr 9d ago
I mean, it took one of the worse cod releases of all time to happen
8
u/JSC843 9d ago
Yeah, it was on gamepass too and people still didn’t want to play it.
6
2
u/ExempliGratiaEG 9d ago
Because it was a horrible cash grab. Anyone with common sense knew Black ops 7 after 6 the last year was the same situation as MW3 after MW2 a couple years ago.
2
u/SpaceghostLos Team WoW 9d ago
Yeah, for sure. I do see a lot of similarities, though I much prefer the larger maps.
5
u/InnerSilent 9d ago
Game is unfortunately dogshit now.
6
u/Hawvy 9d ago
It’s awful. It’s no longer the Battlefield it use to be.
2
u/TheNameIsFrags 9d ago
How so?
1
u/d0m1n4t0r 9d ago
Tries too hard to be CoD, lost the BF identity completely.
7
u/TheNameIsFrags 9d ago
They absolutely messed up with the lack of large maps at launch, but they’ve since rectified that issue. Almost every post-launch map has been medium or large. It still has everything a typical Battlefield should. Best destruction in the franchise, combined arms warfare with tons of vehicles, a mix of small/medium/large maps, the class system…
The only really unforgivable thing missing is a server browser, which is finally coming this season.

u/KesMonkey Still Earning Kudos 9d ago
I've been playing BF for over 20 years, and BF6 still feels like BF to me.
Sure, it doesn't feel exactly like, say, BF4, but BF4 didn't feel exactly like BF3, and BF3 didn't feel exactly like BFBC2, etc.
The series has always evolved, and BF6 feels like BF in all the ways that matter.
2
u/SquidwardsJewishNose 9d ago
I like bf6, but it definitely went too far with the movement to cater to cod players, the sliding/ hopping is a bit much, i feel like the game would be much better with BF4/ BF1 movement

u/Cautious-Dot4143 9d ago
The worst COD game in two decades lol BO6 sold more in ten days than BF6 has sold to date, almost a year later
2
u/Greenzombie04 9d ago
newest CoD wont be on Gamepass while BF6 goes to gamepass is going to hurt Microsoft.
2
u/SkinBintin 9d ago
How? GoD fanbase is monolithic and a BF game being on game pass will do little to dampen CoD sales.
They attract different player bases for the most part.
-1
u/Texassunmerheat 9d ago
This, I hated how BF and “journalist” were saying things like “this is the CoD killer we needed!” or shit like that. One is a military casual sandbox and the other one is an arcade shooter. People that play BF will most likely not play CoD and vice versa
7
u/ursire 9d ago
standard EA Play addition time (1 year after release of non yearly releases, ~8 month for yearly sports games)
3
u/Tobimacoss 9d ago
6 months for indies, sometimes 9 for sports games. Split Fiction dropped through the dimensional crack.
4
u/its_ghaba 9d ago
Meh, I like both games for different reasons. Battlefield will never compare to the COD small map experience and COD Ground War will never compete with the Battlefield large map sandbox experience. Feel like a lot of FPS players are likely in a similar mindset. Also I think it’s just a time thing. Battlefield 6 is quickly approaching 1 year since release and since it’s an EA title it’s getting added.

u/BestRedditUsername9 9d ago
I suppose it's a nice compromise.
Gamepass subscribers who wanna play a big multiplayer shooter can play Battlefield 6.
But if you wanna play COD, you have to buy it
1
u/Plutuserix 9d ago
Yeah, that's EAs call. Its added through their own EA Play service that's included in Ultimate and PC.

Premium not getting much, lol.
1
u/JesterMarcus 9d ago
Was thinking the same, probably trying to drive people to Ultimate. Makes me wonder if they eventually want to do away with Premium.
8
u/Firm-Barracuda-6742 9d ago
for the last couple waves premium got almost everything dude this is the first time in a long time where majority of the games were ultimate only or ultimate and pc only
0
u/mightylordredbeard 9d ago
I have no idea what the difference is between the tiers. Once they got rid of gold and changed the names it just all became too confusing to care to keep track of. I don’t even know which tier I pay for. I’m assuming not premium since I get every game that’s added.

Neon Abyss 2! I'll end up buying it cause I loved the first one.
Also if you want to hate yourself give BF6 a try, signed a BF6 player with way too many hours who keeps coming back 🙃

Everyone is taking about Battlefield 6, and while I’m for sure checking it out I’m stoked for Forever Ago.
I love these little sad indie games.

So excited for battlefield 6 i remember playing all i could out of the open beta they had

Unfortunately the game isn’t really as great as the beta as backwards as it sounds. I hope you enjoy it.

Will Batttlefield have achievements for Xbox PC since it is on PC?
5
3
u/AFT3RSHOCK06 9d ago
All EA PC games on Game Pass force you to install and play them through the EA launcher, which has its own achievements. Unfortunately, they don't sync with Xbox achievements like EA games do with Steam achievements. Still holding out hope Xbox PC implements it like Steam at some point.
1
u/Tobimacoss 9d ago
They can't, different dev environments. EA has to create proper XPA titles, likely with the unified GDK.

Why do 90% percent of new games have the description of "roguelike" and soulslike?" Its tiring
9
u/mightylordredbeard 9d ago
People always complain about “oh another soulslike”, but I’ve been so sick of every decent looking game ending up being done variation of a rogue-whatever. It’s been that way for YEARS now. There are 1000s of rogue-whatevers and it sucks because the art style and gameplay of so many look great, but I hate losing progress when I die and clawing for tiny improvements over multiple deaths.

u/mulder00 XBOX Series X 9d ago
agreed
3
u/HotDogStruttnFloozy 9d ago
I understand games aren't made just for me, but I see a ton with interesting descriptions and then they have those tags and I'm just turned off. Yeah git gud and all that, don't care.

u/ExempliGratiaEG 9d ago
I wasted money on Battlefield buying it when it dropped and didn't even really play it. Now i'm sad.

u/grossnerd666 9d ago
Same, I bought it a month or so ago, played it like twice and haven't played it since. Wish I just held out a bit longer 😭

I honestly had no idea Neon Abyss had a sequel - I enjoyed the first one a lot on gamepass, it's good if you also have the constant rougelite itch to scratch

Is Forever Ago that one game from one of the last couple showcases that looks like an absolute emotional wrecking ball?

u/IllustriousBar1440 9d ago
Bruh compared to what we lose what we get is not at all worth it for the last few months.
14
u/Yaranatzu 9d ago
I mean we got Halo campaign evolved day 1, Plague tale day 1, beasts of reincarnation day 1, Gears E-day day 1. The value is still there.
7
u/mo-par XBOX Series X 9d ago
If youre not happy with the games theyve added in the last 3 months then just unsub cuz you dont like gaming that much
7
1
u/IllustriousBar1440 9d ago
Dude it's 22$ rn. We got e33, plague tale, evil west, crime scene leaving this month. Last month we lost cp2077, sifu, dead cells, mullet madjack and so on. And they screwed over cloud too.
1
u/mo-par XBOX Series X 9d ago
What? Weve got tons of good games
Gears eday, MD2, resonance pt, dune, runescape, halo, hell is us, denshattack, rv there yet
Just to name a few in the last 3 months
0
u/IllustriousBar1440 9d ago
Idk mb ig. Recent months it felt like a lot of good ones left. I'm not complaining that the new ones are bad but compatitively we are losing a lot of good ones. And they should of atleast given a price cut for the cloud limits.

u/bonelatch 9d ago
I just bought BF6. Requested a refund I probably wont get. Pissing me off man.
