Rep. Keith Self has repeatedly warned about radical Islamists and threats to American institutions. Just two days before early voting, his congressional newsletter declared, “Not in November.”

But who exactly is he warning voters about?

Despite repeated requests for evidence that these threats exist in TX-03, his office has not responded. Meanwhile, the League of Women Voters of Collin County says it invited him to a candidate forum and never heard back.

With Wylie voters heading to the polls, the question is whether their congressman is willing to explain his warnings and defend his record publicly.

During his latest virtual town hall, Hunt also discussed his debate challenge, campaign polling and why he expects a close TX-03 election.

Sam Nevarez, a political strategist from TX-03, argues that the Trump administration’s decision not to invite OSCE election observers for the 2026 midterms raises a basic transparency question.

He also says plainly that refusing observers does not prove the election will be rigged.

The bigger question he raises is whether outside observation helps strengthen trust at a time when confidence in elections is still being debated nationally and here in North Texas.

McKinney Councilman Justin Beller used his time to make the case against Keith Self and endorse Evan Hunt.

Hunt talked about religion, immigration and changes he wants to see in Washington.

HD61 candidate Brittany Black focused on public schools, health care and affordability, telling the room: “We’re doing everything that we thought was right, and it’s still not enough.”

The signatures haven't been certified yet, but the political response to the McKinney recall is already growing.

Evan Hunt says he will publicly oppose the recall if it reaches an election:

“Getting enough signatures to put something on the ballot does not make the recall justified.”

Justin Beller also weighed in, including some very direct comments about Keith Self and Self’s involvement in the recall.
