It is time for a new season of Laurier Water Polo. Our first session of the year is this Sunday night, from 7-8pm, at the Laurier pool. Anyone is welcome to join in - no experience is required. We will also be back next Sunday, October 4th, at the same time - if you can’t make it this week, come out and join us next week.

And if you aren’t sure, feel free to ask any questions that you like.

Question Going from 5 courses to 4- realistic? Help.

Realistically, could I drop a course from my fall term right now and be fine if I take a spring course to make up for it (then do the same with winter semester) so I graduate on time.
I am a third year psych student and I am struggling insanely with a lack of motivation, focus and burnout. I cant bring myself to study for my midterms this week. I cant focus. I feel like I cant do anything because I am paralyzed from the stress. My main stressor is the course needed for my specialization, it has wayyy more requirements than all of my other courses combined. I dont necessarily need this specialization I just thought it was interesting.
I think in my mind the only solution is to ease my course load, I get that this would be a mark on my record but I think its better than failing anything. I thought about doing the same last year but I pushed through it, but I dont think I can this time around.

Is this a horrible idea or is this logical. I havent spoken about this to anyone so I am asking here first, apologies for the rant.

Question Part time Jobs

How easy is to get a partime job on campus if you’re not in work study? as a first year student with no official work experience but have ECS with leadership and volunteering stuff.

I know that for BBA Co-op won’t start till year 2 only if o get in, so I’ll have time to have a job in year 1 to help fund studies as well as build experience. So are there a good amount of opportunities on campus?

hn204 anatomy

Hey everyone I was wondering if anyone who has taken HN204 (Systems Anatomy) before could share some advice or their experience with the lecture midterm, not the lab exam!
My lecture midterm is tomorrow, and I just realized that it’s going to be an online exam written in person. I’ve never had an exam in this format before, especially for a content-heavy course like anatomy, so I’m honestly a little nervous 😭. I’m someone who learns and remembers things better by writing, drawing, and labelling diagrams, so I’m not really sure what to expect.
I was also curious if anyone has ever written the deferred lecture midterm. I noticed that the deferred exam apparently includes diagrams, which made me wonder whether that format might actually be easier for someone who’s more of a visual learner. However, my professor mentioned that the deferred exam would be significantly harder, so I’d love to hear from anyone who’s experienced it.I’m honestly pretty stressed about this midterm and just want to go in feeling a little more prepared. I’d really appreciate any advice or experiences you guys could share. Thank you so much!!

I’m planning to take this class in winter 2027 and hoping to take it as a bird course but I have seen some of the profs in this course have had very unclear instructions. Has anyone had her and do you think I should drop?

Like the ones in Peter’s or Bricker. Can we rent them out for a day or so we need to rent them for a semester? I need one for a very specific day in November and I’m wondering how they work.

Discussion Advice

I’m a first year uni student and I’m so burnt out. I’m in my first year of BBA and it feels like no matter what I do I’m behind on understanding a lecture, can be working on an assignment, or doing some next school stuff.

I feel like school is on my mind 24/7 and especially with midterms it’s messing with me a lot. I feel like I wanna have a balance but it is genuinely so hard to find that balance.

If anyone has been in a similar situation how did u handle it and grow out of it. Any advice would be appreciated :)
