I did forget to put my jacket down for her initially and the ride was more comfortable after that.

baby shark mode help :)

Hi all, we love our adorable Carmen but any advice for the puppy biting and ankle attacks? It feels like she’s got two modes, chill playful and full on baby shark mode with attacking ankles etc. Wr are figuring out that sometimes it’s when she’s over tired and then we put her in her space/kennel (not punishing) and she usually settles. Other times it seems to be a signal for when she needs to go out. So, we are figuring her out…

But the biting ankles, pants, etc. Any strategies to help? Thank you!

Saying farewell tomorrow 😔

This is my last night with my sweet Lola and I'm in bed crying as I write this.
After several months of fighting TCC, Lola's health is starting to take a turn for the worse. I can't stand the thought of her suffering any longer and have made the difficult decision with my partner to say goodbye at home.
Tomorrow we will be doing an at home euthanasia and wanted to reach out to everyone here for some advice or possibly kind word to help me get through.
The service we hired will be giving us a clay paw print and locks or fur. Since I'm not thinking straight I wanted to ask anyone who's lost their fur baby if there was anything else they did or wish they would have done when saying goodbye.
In the morning I plan to get Lola a pup cup and will be cooking her an early steak dinner
Posting a photo of her during her night walk with her favorite toy

10-year-old Westie suddenly unable to walk properly

My 10-year-old Westie has been having problems with his back right leg over the past few days, and I’m getting really worried about him.

It started with him limping, but then he stopped putting any weight on the leg at all. Over the past 24 hours, he’s got to the point where he won’t even get up out of his bed by himself.

He didn’t get up to go to the toilet overnight, so I had to pick him up and carry him outside. He managed to do a wee and poop then walked back to his bed, but he was very wobbly on his feet. He still won’t get up on his own and seems to have very little energy.

The strange thing is that he’s still eating and drinking normally, and I can’t see any obvious injury to his leg or paw.
He has limped quite a few times in the past because he chews his paws until they become sore, but it’s never been anything like this before. He’s always still been able to walk around and go outside, so seeing him like this is really worrying.

He has a vet appointment tomorrow, but I’m wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar with their dog? Could it be a muscle injury, a joint problem, something to do with his spine, or something else entirely?

I know nobody can diagnose him over Reddit, but I’d really appreciate hearing about other people’s experiences, especially if you have an older Westie. I’m just trying to get an idea of what it could be.
