I can only find information on the self storage space they’re building between the Westy and Marriott (like we need more storage). There seems to be some kind of restaurant opening and there are always about 4-6 guys smoking hookah there after the construction during the day… lol. My boyfriend thinks it’s going to be an Albanian restaurant, which would be great, so I’m curious if anyone knows!

We operate an indoor sports facility in Westchester County, NY, where we host adult and youth leagues, tournaments, private rentals, and community events.

We're exploring the possibility of obtaining a permanent license to sell beer and wine, primarily during adult leagues, tournaments, and special events.

We're not looking to operate a traditional bar or restaurant. We simply want to offer beer and wine as an additional amenity during certain events.

I've been researching NYS Liquor Authority licensing options, including the Tavern Wine License and Ball Park Beer License, but I'm having trouble determining which would be appropriate for an indoor sports facility.

Has anyone in Westchester gone through something similar or worked with the NYSLA on this type of business?

I'm particularly interested in knowing whether this is possible without operating a full restaurant, what food service requirements might apply, and whether there are any local restrictions to consider.

Ideally, we'd like a permanent license rather than having to apply for temporary permits for every event.

Any advice, recommendations, or contacts familiar with liquor licensing in Westchester would be greatly appreciated.

Trying to schedule an appointment at planned parenthood but I couldn’t see any available slots online. Then I called and they said they are fully booked for the next month?? First off how does that happen? Not just my location but every planned parenthood in the area.

Also, does anyone know of any affordable gynecologists? I have really bad insurance, not sure if anyone can think of other cheap solutions. Thanks in advance.

A former clerk with the Westchester Department of Social Services has admitted taking bribes from day care providers who sought her help expediting reimbursements for their programs.

Cheryl Spencer pleaded guilty in Westchester County Court on Wednesday, Oct. 14, to third-degree bribe receiving, a felony, and official misconduct, a misdemeanor, after she was offered a deal that would let her avoid incarceration.

When four day care providers in Mount Vernon and one in Yonkers told her in June 2024 they were not receiving payments Spencer told them they would have to pay her if they wanted their reimbursements promptly. From October 2024 to April 2025 they sent her monthly Zelle payments of $200.

According to the Westchester District Attorney's Office, Spencer will be on interim probation. If she pays $8,485 in restitution within two years, the felony charge will be dismissed and she will be sentenced to three years probation. If she does not, she will be sentenced to five years probation for the felony, which had carried a possible prison term of up to seven years.
Spencer was a senior audit clerk in DSS' daycare payment processing unit, responsible for confirming attendance records to verify how much daycare providers were supposed to receive. The county would pay the providers to cover expenses of eligible families.

Anyone what’s up with the Yonkers pd list? Did they start calling list 90-85 yet or nah?

Recently moved into a rental home in lower Westchester. A few areas in the basement have a cat pee/gas smell but a gas leak detector indicated there isn’t a leak and enzyme spray didn’t help and the owner swears no cat ever lived here. Who should I contact for an assessment/to remediate this? Thanks!

Hey, I am looking for any service that can help out with a laptop. I specifically need to remove and back up the internal hard drive since I cannot turn it on, and see if theres any way to fix it. Are there any places you could recommend to someone who is a student and new to the area? Closer to rail or bus is helpful, since I currently do not have access to a car. I can easily get to White Plains, or Port Chester, but from there it is harder. Thanks for any help!

I don’t know how to ice skate. I’d like to learn, and hopefully play some hockey at some point. What are the cheapest/most accessible options in the area? Ebersole/Brewster? Further north would be preferable but I’ll take what I can get. Lessons aren’t necessary but could be cool depending on price

Big bummer for lower Westchester tennis players: a generator at the Tennis Club of Hastings caught fire this morning, burned and deflated one of the two bubbles, and badly damaged the exterior of the building. The community started a GoFundMe to take care of the pros and staff there to cover lost wages while they figure out what’s next.
