Need to make friends and connections. I’m a very young 50.
I live in Yonkers Bronxville area single don’t have children looking to make connection and friendships I really like the simple things not looking to go hiking or traveling. Just wanna have somebody to call in the evenings. Hang out take a walk. I’m sure there’s a lot of women out. There are just like me who desperately want to start friendships? I have unfortunately no children no siblings and no parents been a stylist my whole life very active two years ago. I broke my leg and it’s been a long journey and my life has changed dramatically and I would like to share my thoughts in life and time with great people. I do feel very lonely in the evenings and I’m just looking for meaningful connections….

Political Content There’s no ‘evil.’ There’s just Americans.
Like John McCain said about his opponent Democrats, “ they are just loyal public servant...honorable citizens, dedicated Americans.” This is just a midterm.
Mike Lawler on Fox Hannity “… Americans need to gear up because this is a fight against good versus evil, Capitalism versus Socialism. “
We’ve got to stop with this talk, Mike Lawler. Take down the temperature. His supporters I'm talking with are living fear.

Yes, I plan on showing up to my court date with screenshots of my PAID parking pass at 3:59, coincidentally the EXACT same minute I received ticket.

Starting a women’s walking group in Lower Westchester, anyone interested?
Hi all. I’ve been looking for a walking group in the Lower Westchester area and couldn’t find one, so I’m starting one.
The plan is a casual weekly walk, easy pace, coffee afterward if people want it. It’s for women 30 and up, and all fitness levels are welcome. No experience or gear needed.
Walks will be on public paths during the day. If you’re interested, fill out this short form and I’ll send you the details: Women's Walking Club Form
Happy to answer questions in the comments. If there’s a day or time that works best for you, tell me below and I’ll factor it in.

Souvlaki Truck
Who remembers the souvlaki truck that used to be on central ave? Man do I miss their food. Anyone know whatever happened to them? I vaguely remember the owner opening a restaurant but not sure if that’s still around.

best place to find new work
Hi all. I am a nanny and in school to become a nurse. i am 28 years old.
Before nannying, I worked in customer service roles like front desk, management, and training, and I was a tutor.
I am looking for work in anything outside of nannying that I am qualified for. I just need to make ends meet while I go to school in the evenings.
I have applied to work as a Chase associate banker + teller, data entry in hospitals, nurse tech, nurse assistant, etc.; all denied.
Yes, this is Reddit, but genuinely, I am polite, can talk to anyone, and am meticulous.
Any leads anywhere?

Looking for Nurse Tech/Aide Job
Hi! I live in White Plains and am in school for nursing. I hear it’s very hard to get jobs at the hospitals here. Please help! I’d be grateful for any tips or suggestions. I’m a career changer, so I feel it’s even harder out here to find a job.

Estate Planning recommendations
Before my father died, one of his last acts of kindness was to put everything he and my mom owned into a trust that either of them could manage. That way, when he passed away, it was simple to manage his finances, as my mom was the other trustee.
I'd like to get something similar set up, but I'm newish to the area and need a recommendation on estate planning attorneys.
Does anyone have any recommendations for estate planning attorneys? Ideally in the Northern Westchester area?

Political Content New York In This Together
I got this unhinged mailer from "Paid for by New York In This Together" that basically announces the DSA is coming to end private home ownership in NY - with a handy picture of a burning NYPD car (funny trivia - the car burning is from a NYP article in 2020 - not a current DSA event). I looked up the Filer Committee for New York In This Together on the NY Board of Elections, and they don't exist. How do we report this? It's just useless propaganda filling my mailbox, and apparently it violates the NYS Board of Elections.

Why are solar quotes in Westchester so hard to compare?
I've been in residential solar here in Westchester since 2021 and this is something I keep running into.
Back in 2021 solar was still heavily incentivized through the federal tax credit plus state and local programs, and with everyone home during the pandemic usage was way up. Demand was high and a lot of companies popped up fast to meet it. Some held high standards, some didn't.
2026 is a different environment especially here. We pay some of the highest property taxes in the country and people here don't take big money decisions lightly. And yet more homeowners keep telling me the same thing. It's really hard to get an apples to apples comparison anymore.
One company shows x panels and this inverter, another shows the same equipment but the production numbers are way apart. One says you use x amount of electricity per year, another says you need way more, another says you need way less. Lots of companies, lots of opinions, a lot of confused homeowners.
With the federal residential credit ending for residential systems installed after Dec 31 2025, the margin for error indeed got smaller. It really comes down to who's giving you accurate numbers, and whether it actually makes sense for your house.
Another thing I`ve noticed more homeowners are using AI to analyze quotes before making decisions, which makes sense. The catch is that AI is only as good as what you feed it.
So here`s 4 questions to ask every company before you compare anything.
Is the install done by your own crew or subcontracted?
Employee crews are generally easier to hold accountable. It also matters for warranty claims, since you want one company responsible instead of figuring out who works for who years later. If the inverter or panels fail, do you cover parts AND labor, and for how long?
Equipment warranties often cover the part but not the labor to swap it. Down the road when things can start to show slight wear and tear that labor and dispatch fee can be decent dent in the pocket . So get this one in writing. Are roof penetrations warrantied, and is panel removal and reinstall covered if the roof needs work?
Some warranties only cover the mounts for 5 to 10 years with no labor. If a leak shows up later that can get expensive fast. What usage and production numbers are you sizing off of?
Ask each company to size from your last 12 months of utility bills and show their production assumptions (shading, roof angle, degradation) in writing. This is usually where the quotes split apart, and it's the easiest thing to compare once it's on paper.
In hindsight no one can predict exactly what goes wrong or when. But if you get these 4 answers from every company and plug them into whatever AI tool you use along with the quotes, you'll get a lot closer to a real apples to apples comparison.
Hope this helps someone.

Court appearance ticket - ‘allegedly’ driving while using phone - how do I go about it?
Hello all,
As per the title, I was issued a court ticket due to driving while using the phone. Did not admit to any wrongdoing, but the officer asked for license & registration and returned later with a ticket. Court location is at 188 Tarrytown rd. Anyone dealt with such a thing? How do I proceed? Do I need a lawyer? I would not like my insurance rates to go up. Thanks in advance.

Ex-Mount Vernon cop, son charged after altercation with teen in Yorktown
lohud.comA retired Mount Vernon police officer and his son are facing misdemeanor charges stemming from an altercation with a teenager outside BJs Wholesale Club in Yorktown last week, town police said.
Kenneth Rella, 56, of Yorktown, allegedly tried to hit the teenager with his car in the parking lot of the store on Crompond Road shortly before 9 p.m. Oct. 13. He then summoned his 18-year-old son to help and when his son arrived, they both allegedly started punching and shoving the teen, who police said suffered an injury.
Both Rellas were charged with third-degree assault and Kenneth Rella was also charged with second-degree reckless endangerment.
They were arraigned and released without bail. Town Judge Gary Raniolo issued an order of protection barring them from any contact with the teenager.
A Yorktown police press release initially identified the son but a corrected version left the name out because of his age. The Journal News/lohud is not naming him for that reason.
Kenneth Rella owns a paving company in Yorktown. He was a K-9 officer in the Mount Vernon Police Department before his retirement in 2016.

Y'all we have a political flair for a reason
(not flairing this post bc it's more a meta post)
Politics are a part of society, and elections happen. During elections, political talk is more common. If you don't want to see political talk, then ignore the flaired posts.
