Is there a way to disable the persistent vertical tab scrollbar when the tabs are narrowed down to just icons? Is this a browser theme issue? I just updated and it wasn't there before and I didn't make any changes other than applying the update.

It's also not there if I increase the width of the tab area...which makes no sense (to my tiny brain at least) as it's a vertical scrollbar. Happy with a janky way to force them to be invisible. Just want them gone without having to widen the panel.

Example of what I mean:

And thanks to Alex for all the hard work he puts in on such a great project!

Youtube CC option doesn't work in Waterfox for a while now and I can't find a fix for this.

Hello r/waterfox, I've been trying to find the history file (which i already know which one it is) and when i tried to get to the root directory of waterfox (~/.waterfox/) is strangely missing. I'm on debian 13, anybody know how to fix this?

So the most recent Waterfox Update has broken a java-heavy site I regularly use. It prevents me from accessing any of the entries for it I've made, or saving new entries I try to make. The site isn't completely unusable to me, but this is very frustrating, and I've checked with vanilla Firefox and this issue isn't there, so it's got to be something that was changed in this latest update.

I'm mostly concerned with the folder drop-downs from the bookmark bar. With the Normal density, items in the folder menu are too far apart, so I use Compact density. However, the items are then scrunched together and my eyesight and manual dexterity are not what they used to be. In Firefox, the compact spacing is slightly larger and more usable.

Is there a way to adjust the line spacing in drop-downs for Compact density?

(about:config has the browser.uidensity setting, but that just selects the normal/compact/touch mode. Perhaps there is some other CSS or whatnot I can use?)

With this last update, any time clicking a link would open up a new tab or window and load the page, it does so, just never actually starts to load the page until I click into the address bar and hit enter to begin the page load process. Anyone else?

I have waterfox set to delete cookies when I close the browser, but I added chatgpt.com and openai.com to the cookie exceptions. Despite this, waterfox logs me out of ChatGPT every time I reopen it.

How can I keep ChatGPT logged in while still deleting cookies for all other websites? I'm using the latest version of Firefox.

Is there a way to stop having the sidebar popping out when hovering since I am using sidebery?

I can't drag the from the majority of the title bar because of the textbox. I didn't find a way to remove it without hiding the whole address bar.

Am I missing a setting?

I'm using malwarebytes firewall control. When I lower the firewall, Waterfox works. But it never popped up a notification that it was trying to access the internet, and manually adding the exe didn't help. Every other browser, and most programs can work with the firewall. What I'm assuming, is that waterfox is trying to use another service to access the internet, and I can't figure out how to stop that behavior. Lowering the firewall isn't an option, as every time I give my system unlimited access, it manages to reactivate windows defender and the AI crap. Do I just have to use a different browser, or is there an option to fix this?

Edit: LibreWolf is having the same problem, so I'm guessing it's a firefox issue. Is this trying to use svchost? Chome based browsers work fine, but I was hoping to switch away from anything using Chrome or AI.

As of today Waterfox will not open sites that perform security verification. Two examples are https://worldmags.net/ and https://howtogadget.blog/. They just say "just a moment". These sites do open in firefox.

This is also probably why download sites sites like https://fileq.net/ and https://down.mdiaload.com/ will not complete free downloads. They just report "wrong capcha" even though no capcha was asked for.

This is the third time in a row that it updating automatically broke itself in some way.

I updated this morning and when Waterfox restarted, it didn't open the tabs I had open - only the most recently opened one! This is catastrophic because I had tabs open that I didn't want to save to bookmarks (because I'd forget about them) and there were several important ones related to work. I can't remember them all now so I have to browse through the History hoping I'll recognise the forever lost tabs! (restoring recently closed tabs didn't do anything)

I have the flatpak version of firefox installed on Fedora 43 KDE plasma 6 and I can not get the option round the bottom corners of selected tab> apply rounded corners to every tab to work properly. When I choose australius or wave, the selected tab does not show properly. It only shows a square.

it looks like the pictures I have provided above. I've tried doing numerous fixes to get gpu acceleration to fix the problem, but nothing is working. This is a problem with the flatpak verison and it needs to be fixed. I have yet to try to the repository version so I am unsure if the same problem is happening there.

Is it a common issue with waterfox? Most of the times, especially for websites like stackoverflow, cloudflare would keep trying to verify me endlessly

Version 1.2.8.1 on Android has a huge bug. When I tap on the search box and try to go to any URL, nothing happens. It doesn't matter if I type in a url, tap on a shortcut tile. It appears that if I select a bookmark those still work. It's like the browser just dies. I tried clearing the cache and this issue still happens. I checked the reviews and saw that others reported this as well. Once in a while it will work, but this is extremely rare.

The latest update 6.7.6 seems to have changed the font size for my history and bookmarks. Now it is too small. I am using compact view, but even then I can tell it is much smaller than before.

If I switch from compact to normal then it is far too big. Can someone tell me what I can change in the about:config to increase the font size a point or two? I tried looking up font or UI to no avail.

Thank you.

I recently got waterfox and I'm asking If there are some settings you should immediately change once you download waterfox for optimization. I'm just wondering if I should just use it out of the box or is there some good updates for quality of life that I should use. My main goal is to reduce the time it takes for searching things up, and privacy. Thanks!

After the latest Waterfox update, hyperlinks in Thunderbird e-mail messages open to a black screen. The URL for each one starts with "NOT SECURE".

If I disable dark mode (an add-on in Thunderbird for viewing e-mail), the links work but I have to lose the dark mode feature.

Please advise what to do to fix this.

Thanks

Loving waterfox, but I am having this one random issue with private tabs where it closes when I close a normal waterfox window. It is one of the best features in waterfox as it completely stops ads on twitch when it’s a private tab.

Basically opening a private tab, and closing the regular waterfox window sometimes breaks the private one and closes it. Has been happening for like 8 months now. Veerrryy minimal issue but I could see people losing important stuff like this.

As title says, I think it would be great to add an option to focus the cursor into the main search bar in the center of the screen rather than the top navigation bar when creating a new tab. I know that this is a behavior that changed when Mozilla implemented the "Awesome Bar", but it would be amazing if we can have it back.

Thanks! :)

if i close it, it logs me out of reddit, claude, email host but not github, how to fix? it doesnt delete about:config settings or anything
