I wore a fitbit device for over 10 years. I was ready to switch after the google integration and settled on the garmin vivoactive 6. The HR monitor was an important feature for me. Unfortunately, the Vivoactive 6 has been terribly inaccurate. I use a Peloton and also have a forearm strap so that I can see my HR on screen. When I compare those two numbers, they are dramatically different with the watch dramatically under-counting, typically by 25-30 beats. For clarity, I am NOT expecting a perfect match. But my fitbit was always within 3-5 beats of the on-screen number. Not 30 bpm different.

Additionally, I got a high HR alert on my watch while sitting watching TV. I felt like that was wrong, so I got up, walked across the house and put on my old fitbit. It read 77 -- much more in-line with how I was actually feeling.

I tried the troubleshooting tips of warming up the skin before the workout, wiping for moisture and tightening/loosening the watch, but nothing improves the difference. And yes, I do see the notes on accuracy in the support and on the website, but I was expecting a much smaller range of difference.

I contacted support and was told that "this was expected because my wrist is flexed during cycling which can result in an inaccurate reading" and that it's just "a limitation of the technology." I explained that I wasn't expecting a perfect match but there is a huge difference in being 3-5 beats different and 25-30 beats different, especially if you're trying to improve your cardiovascular fitness.

Have others had this problem? Were you able to fix it? Is this really the expected margin of error?

What would you want him to get annoyed at next? I'm collecting ideas for the next update.

My battery suddenly only lasts 3 days, whereas it used to last about 2 weeks. I haven't done anything differently: no extra activities started and no other watch faces tried. I've already re-paired the watch with my phone, tried it with and without Wi-Fi set up, and even did a full factory reset. Unfortunately, none of it helped! The watch has no pending updates and is running version 17.05.

Anyone got any ideas?

I recently built a game, mostly to learn the Garmin app development, but I ended up getting hooked on my diabolical contraption 😂

For those who already played Cookie Clicker, the concept is quite similar : click, buy stuff to click even harder, and automate everything to go faster and further.

But of course, since. it targets Garmin watches, the goal isn't to collect the most cookies, but to cover the most meters (presumably gettin some excercise to burn off all those cookies 😁)

Posting this partly as a heads-up and partly as a confession.

I make a set of free watch faces that show your last 7 days as a bar chart — steps, calories, sleep, resting heart rate, body battery or distance, one metric per face, filling the screen.

I had vivoactive 4 and 4S listed in my manifest from the start, so I assumed they worked. They didn't. Garmin's compiler silently drops any device that can't meet the minimum API level you declare, and I'd set mine too high. No warning, no error — the devices just quietly vanish from the store listing. If you searched for these faces on a vivoactive 4, they simply weren't there.

Found it yesterday, fixed it, republished. Both models are supported now, along with Venu, Venu D and Venu Sq Music which had the same problem.

They also got always-on display support in the same update, with a dimmed low-power view.

This is the smartest dumbest watch I have ever owned and I'm looking for some help before I end up selling it.

When I'm not wearing the watch, and when it's not charging, my vivo Active 5 watch will spend all day/night flashing, looking for a heartbeat, regardless of how I place it. The end result is a dead battery within a day and half. Is there any way to stop this?

I shouldn't have to place it on the charger every single time I take it off, for the watch to stop flashing 24/7.

The sleep inaccuracy has me questioning quite a bit about how accurate my vivoactive 5 is. Last night I was awake for several hours in the middle of the night, tossing and turning. My sleep analysis this morning said I was awake for 2 minutes. Anyone else experience this level of inaccuracy?
