So, for a better signal on my ASK-NCQ1338FA...
...I had the cockamamie idea of somehow getting the box outside and elevated. Is this even possible to do while keeping it reasonably weatherproofed but also not blocking the signal by essentially putting it in a little coffin? I guess material type and thickness would matter?
The reason I'm considering doing this is because I'm technically slightly outside of the service area. I only have Verizon's 5G internet because my address bears the name of a town I'm actually a few miles outside of, and so when receiving fliers for the service years ago, they sent one to me.
The signal is actually surprisingly okay considering I'm technically outside the area... I've been using it for several years after all, but I have to have the cube in basically this ONE magic spot in my house in my bedroom near the window, and even then I do get constant 5G-to-4G drops (the 5G dB is much worse than the 4G dB) but on the whole it's very usable.
Anyways, I thought I could probably get the signal more solid (maybe even stay in 5G at all times) and scrape together a few more dB if I could essentially jack this thing up about 15 feet high on a pole right outside my window instead of where it is now (inside near the window).
Has anyone ever DIYed something like this?
