How to grow the game
After watching a lot of the EBUCC I started noticing something. We need more flock cameras in ultimate. Thank you

CORNELL STOLE AND RELABELED AT LEAST 20 DISCS FROM FLORIDA AND RUTGERS AT LOBSTER POT
This post is coming from a UF player for context
We started the day with 25 discs in our bag. They all were labeled with our captain’s name, our coach’s name, or “UF A”. By the time we finished our 2nd game vs Cornell we had 2. Of course it’s expected that some players will take a disc or two at tournaments but with barely any left we were extremely lost.
We started looking around the sideline for them because obviously they can’t just disappear. We mentioned this to a Cornell player, who then held up a disc bag to show how they had only 3, and said theirs had all been taken too
We continued looking and then found one of the Cornell players holding one of our discs and writing “Cornell Buds” on it. We asked him if he had taken more discs, to which he answered that he had not, that he would add “Florida,” and that we could have it as a memento
Very quickly after that we found a 2nd Cornell disc bag containing 10+ of our stolen discs, all with the names SCRATCHED OUT and “Cornell Buds” with a number 1-20 written on them.
We took the discs back and rushed to our 3rd game against Rutgers, complaining about what had just happened, and were then told that Rutgers had also witnessed Cornell players taking their discs but didn’t know how many and so didn’t speak up about it.
Also still at this point we were (and are) missing several more discs. The numbers 1-20 were incomplete and random
After reporting it to the Upper Men’s director he very graciously gifted us 15 discs for the ones we could not find. Allegedly it was 2 freshman on Cornell who did this in high school and always got away with it, and allegedly nobody else knew. Their coach 100% did not know any players were doing this throughout the game or after so no shade to him.
But still, wtf. Taking so many discs, lying about it to our face, and crossing out our names is absolutely crazy. Never seen anything like this before
Photo attached showing some of the discs we found

This offseason, I’m working on becoming more consistent with my cutting. Cutting has always been challenging for me, especially as a Deaf player. I tend to cut with feel, sensing when space might open up and reacting to what I see.
Some days, everything clicks. I know where to go, I find open space, using my speed, and it doesn’t matter who’s covering me. Other days, I hesitate a lot, get confused, and end up running into closed spaces instead of waiting for openings.
I’m planning to work more on mechanics (angles, timing, setup cuts) and maybe watch more film. Film helps, but it doesn’t always translate to on-field vision.
For anyone who’s dealt with similar challenges, even if not Deaf, do you have tips for building better cutting habits? Drills, cues, mixing instinct with structure, or anything that helped you get past this plateau?
Thanks in advance.

Looking to add more touch to my hucks- want to get better at throwing deep in ways that doesn't just get the disc there, but maximizes my receivers ability to make a play. My two biggest questions are how do you add height while maintaining shape without having the disc stall early, and how do you get the disc to sit out in front for more time?
Perhaps more importantly, how do you think about all this stuff? How do you practice it?

Hello all,
I am Male, 38Y. I started playing Ultimate only 3 years ago.
Last year, I was definitely playing a lot more than the previous 2 years. Also, mid season, I switched to Cleats for the first time, before that I always played in Turf shoes even ln natural grass.
Shortly after that, i started feeling cramps in both my calves. Not always at the same time though. For a couple of weeks it would be the right one, for a couple of weeks it would be the left one. I would always rest for a week or so, it feels better, i start playing again and it comes back.
Then in April I got my first right leg calf (gastro) strain, grade 2. I started physiotherapy and rehab, 3 weeks later I reinjured it in a training while accelerating in a cut, which was definitely way too early and against the physio advice.
I restarted the journey again and was trying to catch an end of season tournament. It took me 6 weeks and I was cleared for the tournament. I participated and in the second game i got injured again. This time felt much worse. I was actually just jogging backwards when it happened, no acceleration or changing directions.
This time i decided to give it more time. 3 months of rehab and then gradually back to Ultimate and started full Ultimate only after 4 months. Also, I switched back to Turf shoes.
3-4 weeks later, I got injured again. This time though it is a mild grade 1 Strain in the Soleus. So same calf but different injury.
Out of your experience, what can be wrong? Except for the 2nd injury where I obviously rushed, I was always working on strengthening etc. and I think I gave it enough time. And the fact that the new injury is a different one in a different calf muscle makes me really wonder what the rooting cause might be. I also ruled out the cleats factor this time. Could it be the running form? My mates tell me that I seem to be running on my toes the whole time. Any tips our of experience?
Lastly, doe this new injury, how long do you recommend I wait/rehab before getting back to full Ultimate?
Thanks!

Hi everyone, I wear a size 4E shoes and the cleats I had before were the New Balance Fortress ones, after almost 2 years the got destroyed completely and I've been having trouble finding a replacement ever since. I can't find any 4E cleats they are so hard to find, does anyone know any true 4E cleats or maybe 2E that kind fits like a 4E?

Hey r/ultimate !
I've played for almost 10 years, and I just built Ultiboard as a side project.
Ultiboard is a browser-based tactical board for working through plays and sharing them with teammates.
You can use it as a whiteboard to move players around and draw cuts, or build a play step by step and replay how the players and disc move.
A few things it supports:
Please check it out here: ultiboard.app
Sign in to save and share your strategies.
Maybe try recreating one play you already use and see where does the process become confusing or slow?
I’m the developer, so feel free to ask questions or point out anything that doesn’t work!

I'm gonna be studying abroad in Lille this spring, and I play Ultimate at uni in the US, and was wondering what Ultimate there is to get involved with while I'm in France. Preferably some sort of competitive team/club, but anything would be great!

Hi all, looking for guidance for how long to give my body to recover before training after a tournament. Since frisbee is so niche there's not really great guidance out there beyond encouragement of active recovery and listening to your body. I'm always super stoked to put in work after a tournament, but also want to make sure I'm resting adequately, particularly before hitting high cns or speed focused sessions. I've definitely gotten too aggressive with this before and hit some wildly subpar sessions that were almost certainly more harmful than helpful.
questions:
- For the players, how long do y'all wait before lifting heavy or hitting a field workout?
- How do you know you're ready, both after hard practice/workout sessions and especially after tournaments?
- What types of work do you do when your body is still too fatigued to hit high outputs (ie low cns days, upper body, active recovery, skill work, other)?
- For the coaches and captains, how long will you generally give people off before the next practice/ how do you think about the next practice back?
Thanks for anyone with input

I miss getting to watch Joe dominate on the field. What happened to him? He was on top of the world coming into the 2024 club championships. It’s been 2 years now and still nothing from him.
Does anyone have any insight?
Thanks!

Has anyone bought BE Ultimate’s new Pursuit Duffle Backpack? I have the The North Face duffle that this seems to be modelled on and have been looking for a replacement.
Based on the dimensions given, BE’s bag seems shorter but wider and thicker, albeit with similar volume. Other than that, most of the features seem similar. Does anyone have photographs of the BE or TNF bags to compare? Or any reviews or thoughts on them?

Looking for advice on starting an indoor league. The main goal is to attract new players. What are the best ways to get the word out to the local community and how much lead time makes sense?
