Hi everyone!
I am currently in my last year of uni in the Netherlands (I am British but grew up abroad so the Netherlands was a more affordable choice for uni) and am applying for vac schemes at the minute. I am unsure about how to answer questions about my grades on applications because in the Netherlands we don't get separate grades for each year at uni and we also are graded using a GPA ( 1-10 scale with a pass being 5.5). I am currently at a GPA of 6.8 (68%) so I wondered if anyone is familiar with the Dutch grading system or if anyone knows how best I can reflect this on my applications? So far from what I've seen on the internet I haven't gotten a definitive answer on what my UK equivalent grade would be? I know my grades are not the most amazing (but I will apply to anything I can anyways since you miss all of the shots you don't take), but I want to make sure I am accurate in my applications anyways and not selling myself short or inadvertently lying. Any advice is welcome! Thank you all in advance!

I’m looking to pursue a career in law, but I have really mixed opinions about studying a traditional pure law LLB degree.
I have heard from various individuals and, on a recent school visit to a MC firm, we met many lawyers from similar backgrounds, that didn’t do law LLB, both in-house and at the firm.
From my understanding, PGDLs welcome a wide variety of different backgrounds, however- most lawyers that do the PGDL, do History at undergraduate, which I do in A-Levels and am good at, however still get mixed opinions from, as it’s unbearable for me rn.
Recently, I have seen uni courses that combine law with other subjects, like Cambridges’ Land Economy(Law, Environment and Economics) (non qualifying) or KCL’s Politics, Philosophy and Law (qualifying), which seem interesting for me personally, than their Law LLB, however such qualifying courses, combining law and other subjects are rare in numbers, especially at target schools.
I have always enjoyed Politics and Economics, and related subjects, since these are essay subjects, I am curious about if they could be useful/attractive for TC especially if studied at a prestigious school?
Thus, what are the most useful/attractive non-qualifying law degrees,(excluding history) for someone looking to be competitive for a TC?

I’m talking about across the board, from those of you who are dating to those of you who are married and have children.

I am a commonwealth qualified lawyer with just over 1PQE. I'm looking to apply to TCs but the direct route, is that something that firms take positively or are there firms that want you directly go for lateral roles?

Hi all, I need your thoughts on this, I have been working in Cyber started off with technical roles and now in GRC(5 years experience), now realising that I love reviewing agreements, giving feedback on regulatory compliance work etc. I’ve been reading up a lot about IP law and Tech law. Has anyone here transitioned into law with a similar background, what was your roadmap and how did you prepare ?
I’m aware about the TC’s, is that the go to? And, what are the expectations of firms when they look at CVs of STEM backgrounds?

Base on the above text- I hv to provide a written example for the job but then I looked at my previous courseworks and realised how vague/ monotone I was writting before … I feel like it lacks depth
I see people saying it’s ok to add to your previous coursework to make it better for your employer…I.e in this case add more or make additional points to add depth..but I am not entirely sure🤷
Thoughts?
Thank you very very much
