I love the song cause it really captures the longing and has this sad, almost ugly (as in ugly feeling, idk not sure how to phrase this) undertone to it. Im trying to figure out what the video and the song mean, cause right now ive come across two interpretations and they both kind of clash.

1. Its about a new love slowly drifting away - this is more apparent in the scenes toward the end where the guy just leaves troye on the beach and troyes running, and in the last few scenes where hes watching the house without the guy, and the staircase where only troyes there and the guy isnt. This is consistent with the lyrics too cause the lyrics point to a real person who's different from troye and their interactions

2. Its about longing for and imagining a boyfriend, and hoping that his future boyfriend's gonna be forever, and the whole sad undertone is just to capture how intense that longing is. This is from the billboard interview where he said the song's about a boyfriend he hasnt met yet. But if this is it i dont see how the music video communicates that the guy isnt real, cause we do see scenes of troye being upset with him. The scenes that do allude to the fact that the boyfriend might not exist are the ones where troye's alone in the water in the beach, or the beginning where hes alone. But then again i feel like the scenes at the end contradict this narrative.

Can someone tell me their interpretation of the video and the song? I really wanna figure it out. Im just obsessed with this song cause it resonates with me deeply, ive watched the video 50 times already probably. I just want to understand the song properly, if it makes sense.

Open to other opinions and perspectives too.

for me it’s both his worst and his best rollout. The second Instagram account, troye hq, that messy Apple Music interview, gorgeous music videos. now thought he messed with the tracklist and my Apple Music still hasn’t recovered for some reason and I can’t add the album to my library. what do you guys think

With the advent of his new album, Troye has outdone his former, boyish self. His approach to the usual tableau of love and sex is totally girlie this time around! Sure, Troye has always been one of the girls, as a boy who loves it, but now ... She, the unnamed drag persona, is THE girl, slowdancing with Nicole Kidman, instead of for some boy, no offense fellas. His approach to this ethereal lover is notably submissive and softer than normal and when he is being more masculine like with the formerly third track Party & the seventh Le Boy, he is being a MAN! By that of course I mean he understands his love. This album is a celebration of gender period with Troye Meets World, and Troye himself is all grown up, obviously. STB is Troye from a girl's perspective, though. It serves in every single good way, like every other pop girlie's material. It's in the name!

apple music won't play party or ff due to the updated tracklist order putting party after she's the best. it plays fine if i select from troye's artist profile page but if i save/download the album to my library i get these messages. i've tried deleting the album and re-adding it as well as restarting apple music/restarting my phone entirely and still no luck.

Does anyone have any more information about the show tonight? It says doors open at 8pm, but is that true or is Troye coming on at 8pm. He came on at 8pm for the London show, so I'm a little confused.

UPDATE: They posted on their instagram story that doors open at 8pm and the show starts at 9pm.

looking for one ticket to troye's nyc show tonight! willing to pay a little over face value but i'm also poor so i can't break the bank. i don't want to be scammed so i will ask that we call or facetime before i send over payment <3 i've been a fan since blue neighborhood and i was in the ticketmaster queue for this but sadly lost the war. PLEASEEEEE

i love the album and am a massive troye baby fan however i feel a bit disappointed that in all interviews he is saying the name comes from the love of women in his life and how they inspire him and such yet remains silent on such a much needed showing of support from MEN about how men treat women and the violence and horrors they receive. dan levy made a post the other day after the snl monologue and after the assault that happened at cornell and while i know he's in album promo cycle it just feels hollow to say that the title was to showcase and champion women yet say nothing about how the violence and assault that women face daily is because of men and men only. just feels a bit superficial and it is something that all men, gay and straight need to be discussing.

I absolutely love this album, its so good, the only track i cant stand is lost time, it sounds too autotuny to me.. i didnt see any one talk about that so yeah
