Event 🌿 FIRST OF THE MONTH: the wheel has spun and we have a winner!!

Fam bam... it happened.

This morning I spun the wheel for the first ever Treedibles First of the Month giveaway. 195 newsletter subscribers went on it, every email blurred out, and the spin is right here on video. No edits, one spin.

It landed on wt@g.com.

The winner has been emailed. As soon as they reply with their Reddit username and I confirm they're in r/treedibles and posted on the giveaway thread, they get their Treedibles debut right here as our very first giveaway winner, plus a Society tee, their pick of the four.

If that's you... check your inbox (and your spam). You've got until Sunday, October 4. No reply, and I spin again on camera.
Want to be on November's wheel? Same three steps:
• Be on the newsletter.
• Be a member of r/treedibles.
• Post on this thread. What you made, what you're making next, a question... one comment is all it takes.

That's it. One entry each, no purchase ever. Next spin is November 1st.

Huge thank you to everyone who commented on the announcement thread... you got this thing off the ground. Stay tuned for the debut.

Hi my friendly redditors. Here to share a story and see if it touches anyone.

I have been someone who uses(used?) edibles daily for a few years and used edibles in high doses, not daily, but frequently for the last 7 years or so. I am also someone who struggles mightily with OCD. I am wondering if weed has been something of a crutch and/or been a curtain for my OCD. As much as I think/thought it helped tremendously in quieting my brain and being more excited and happy about life, without it, my OCD is strong and i feel more despair-like. I love this plant and this plant i think is so amazing beyond what our world thinks of it. But i’m afraid that the plant may actually be subconsciously lowering my tolerance to anxiety and OCD on an overall basis. Curious to hear if anyone has had similar or different experiences with OCD and Weed

People that use coffee grinders, what do you do with the left over "dust"? Is it possible to decarb?

I have a flatmate who uses a coffee grinder to chop his weed. I have a machine that decarbs and infuses my weed into an oil, and my flatmate wants to know if he can turn his dust into an edible of some sort.. any advice would be greatly appreciated 🙏

Question How do you determine the THC dosage in each edible?

I make homemade edibles and people always ask how many mg are in them lol. I never wanna just give them a random number, so I was curious because I’ve heard you can get them tested!

Does this have anything in it that will make me high?

Got this little bag for free with an order, packaging doesn't seem to mention anything other than regular nutrition info. They do have a strong weed smell so I'm not sure. Can't seem to find this exact product anywhere online either. Not super familiar with this stuff tbh.

What do I do 😭

Okay so I usually can't sleep the night before anything "big" happens. I've had this issue my entire life, and the only thing that has ever made me conk out like I need is weed. Tomorrow I start a new job that I really care about and tried not to take anything, but at around 1 in the morning I was frustrated with not being able to sleep and took like... Maybe ⅓ of a 50mg gummy? And then I was like "Shit, dude, I have work in eight hours!" I've never done anything but just go to bed after getting high, I've never existed in public high, and definitely haven't ever gone to work high. And this is a new job. What do I do?? I don't know if there's a way to have a shorter high or a less intense high, or maybe I should like make myself throw up?? I would love to not be absolutely tripping my first day

No idea if any of this matters, but I'm biologically female, I don't take any regular medications, I'm a ginger, I weigh about 220 pounds, and I just had a big meal before taking the gummy.

Do y'all grind your buds first?

I've only been making edibles for a few months now, and y'all have helped me immensely! So I'm ba-ack! LOL I have a 3 in 1 machine, so my machine basically does it all for me. All except grinding those buds. So far, I've either used my small hand grinder, which does a number on my wrists for a week after, or I've used shake. The shake was the easiest, but I purchase THC9 online, and this was some WEAK 💩. I have no idea what my dosage is, but I do know that normally 2 gummies or one brownie do the trick, but with the shake? I've taken as many as 6 and just barely got tired enough to yawn. Now, I just had 2oz of flower delivered, and I want to get started with it... but first, I have to grind this stuff, and my wrists just won't handle it well. A friend told me to try using a burr coffee grinder! YES! I actually have a brand new on that has never been used! Pulled that bad boy out yesterday... no joy, it took me over 1.6 hours to get the smaller buds out of the machine, and it ground exactly nothing, just a few flakes came out. So... is there an easier way to grind these buds? I like having them ground before decarbing, because I know that every time bit will be decarbed to perfection. Plus, that way I just have to pour some oil into the pot as soon as it's done decarbing, and I'm infusing! How do y'all handle this? Is there some nice, easy grinder I should be using? Coffee grinders are OUT! LOL Hoping someone has found a nice, easy alternative to hand grinding!

Dosing Question does the amount of weed you put in edibles translate to how much you’d normally smoke?

I’m thinking about making a really small batch of cookies and I’m curious about how potency works with homemade edibles?
1-2 joints is usually the level of high I prefer, for example if I made a batch of 4 cookies using 3 joints worth of weed in the butter but only ate 2 cookies would that be comparable to smoking 1-2 joints, or does eating weed affect you so differently that it doesn’t really work like that?
basically im curious whether baking changes the potency, whether edibles tend to affect you more or less strongly than smoking and how much the effects vary from person to person and I’m wondering if anyone has any advice :)
also ik it would taste very potent but i don’t mind at all, im just hoping to give my lungs a break for a bit haha

btw when I say a joint i mean roughly the size of a regular cigarette just filled with weed rather than tobacco !!

Infusion Loss?

Checking this sub and Google and I get a variety of answers. Can I get some thoughts on what multiplier to use when estimating infusion loss? I usually look at total THC (ie 7,000 mg of flower at 15%). This would have me working with 1,050mg of THC. I then have always assumed 75% of this number survives after decarb and other loss. I would then divide by my serving number to get a per-serving THC level. When looking at TOTAL THC loss from flower to final product, is 75% too high or too low? Thanks All.

Question Am I immune to edibles?

Thumbnail

Hello, this is my third time trying to make cannaoil. I decarbed ~3.5Grams of weed, Decarbed it 105~110 C° for 40-45 minutes. I finely grounded them up. I started re-infusing my previous batch which had 0.5~0.8 Grams in 100mL oil with this decarbed weed. I put a jar in Bain-marie for 2.5+ hours. Then filtered it through the cloth filter. I took one tea spoon mixed it with egg and made a microwaved omelette. I couldn't feel anything with one tea spoon, I was a bit sleepy that was all ( could have been just tired from the night out before), today I took 2.5 tea spoons. It's been more than 3 hours and no noticeable effects. The total mg of THC per teaspoon should be around 24.45. What should I have done differently or am I just immune?

Question grinding before decarb process??

the first time i made gummies, i ground the weed BEFORE the decarb process, the edibles turned out great and potent just as intended ! however, ive been seeing a lot about how i shouldn’t grind the weed until its been decarbed and cooled. any insight on this ? should i be more patient and wait until its been crisped up to grind? does it really matter? would it inherently effect the edibles/oil?

edit; i know to break up the nugs a little and not bake them whole but isn’t breaking up nugs/grinding it down essentially the same in this scenario? grinding before baking feels like a shortcut so i don’t have to wait for the weed to cool as long idk shrug

Question Deep frying flower?

Can you convert (decarb) and extract THC from flower at the same time by dumping pieces or ground up weed into oil or ghee (clarified butter) that's at the correct temp?

Or by pouring hot oil/ghee over the buds instead, like making chili crisp?
