hi! wanted to get a few things out of the way while i'm here, so here i am. just some quick friendly™ stuff from me to y'all.
- if you want to report something and have a link or otherwise pertinent related information to your report, please consider directly messaging us via mod mail instead. this is because we have no way of opening these links on mobile, and—if these links are long and complicated—it's difficult to transcribe them. both is also fine. you are essentially making my life easier as the mobile-bound mod, basically.
- when reporting, please remember that even for "gag reports", you need to report to directly to us instead of choose one of the prefilled options that go to reddit in the first section; otherwise, your joking "this is hate against me" report actually goes to reddit and they think we actually broke the rule for a second. please don't do that. i already lost one account here. 🥹
- i can see when you spam reports. don't do that.
- i'd like to remind everyone also to be mindful of our uj/rj framework, as it's been getting broken down more and more lately; remember that jerking is the default, not uj!
now, onto the second thing.
there's been a lot of arguing and frustration about certain topics regarding transmisogyny, transphobia, the intersections between masculinity and oppression, and how trans men fall into this.
a lot of it has been falling under shitstirring. a lot.
i'm getting very tired of the soapboxing lately, so this is my one warning to everyone who has been soapboxing to such an extreme degree that it borders on actual transphobia that i will stop being as lenient soon.
i am all in support of discussing important issues in the community, and that's why i (personally) have been trying to keep things balanced in what does and does not get taken down. but things are getting to a point where i need to state again that it is very much possible to critique what you see as oppressive without falling into deeply transphobic and transmisogynistic caricatures.
so, again: i want to politely remind everyone that there is a very fine line between criticizing people who are being outright transmisogynistic or transphobic, vs being just as bad as them by giving that same transphobia back.
many of you may not have understood why your posts on the topic keep getting taken down until now—this is why. because you continue to go over the line from "critique of lateral oppression" to "returning lateral oppression" or otherwise contributing to the ostracization and oppression of another minority group. i am not coming down on you more than the previous, i am coming down on everyone to the best of my ability as a mod.
these are difficult times, so i want us to be able to confide in each other a bit again, instead of snapping at each other every chance we get due to perceived shadows of The Cis™.
consider this my (proper) introduction as a mod, as well. many of you already know me both as this account and previously as dalamudfreikugel/maknaeline, but 👋
