Hello hello! My name is Desdemona (formerly Sophia/Rachel if you’ve seen my previous posts), and I’m having an issue. I just don’t have enough people to kill megafauna in popular 22 year old videogame series Monster Hunter; in particular the most recent four entries of Generations Ultimate, World, Rise, and Wilds (PC for all but GenU).

I’ve been working on getting my gaming clan’s MonHun side to be more active after our massive surge in Destiny players, but until then I need YOU, yes, YOU, to play Monster Hunter with me. I would also, however, like to grow stronger connections than just “friends I play Monster Hunter with.” I have given us a foundation, and we shall build from there.

This is totally not me covering my ass because my hyperfixations change on a dime despite me having 1900 hours in MonHun.

it's more than a little uncomfortable to put myself out here like this, but i think it's worth trying, i could really use a good friend.

been a lonely transfem just about its whole life. longing for a sort of substantive connection that always seems to be out of reach, wanting so much more than getting ghosted, harassed or sent death threats just for existing. it feels as though it's a world filled with endless, meaningless abject cruelty, but i know little pockets of reprieve do exist, and i want to have people in my life i can share in that reprieve with.

for brief times, i've had people around me that could share this kind of mutual enrichment. i know it's possible - i only wish it could last. clear communication is really important to me, and of course i'm not perfect, but i much prefer the kind of no-filter honesty because i know how fulfilling it can be. i think there's a great value in making the implicit explicit; to me, honesty extends to more than just not lying, to having a desire for understanding and compassion.

i've been told i have a lovely voice, but i don't get to use it as much as i'd like to; i yearn for the sort of long term friendships where i have people to care about and talk with.

regarding games, most recently i've been playing netrunner on jinteki. some of my favourite games are modded minecraft (i often host my own servers), zachtronics games, traditional roguelikes like cogmind and dungeon crawl stone soup, and puzzle games with an awesome theme/story like paquerette down the bunburrows and void stranger. i also have some really precious memories with fallout 1+2, oblivion and morrowind. but really, i'd play just about anything with a good friend.

among the anime i've watched and yearn to share in with others, my favourite is easily "Orb: On the Movements of the Earth"- contemplative, grappling with the often extreme consequences of pursuing honesty. i really care about programming, but i don't do nearly as much of it as i'd like because i don't have people to share in its joy with. i also like reading; most recently finished the murderbot diaries which were wonderful. i have a pretty eccentric taste in music too, loosely fitting the term "electroacoustics" but maybe more accurately "the sounds a cute robot would make".

i read this description on another post on this subreddit: "I enjoy quality > quantity of friends. I do not fault anyone who lives different - but from one person to another.. I am just trying to find something far less shallow." and i think this describes exactly how i feel.

hii, i have an old inactive guild in gw2 that i had started with some folks all the way back in 2016. people come and go, inactive or leave the game, its been a bit unactive and empty for awhile, i was thinking of opening the guild back up for trans folks to join :)

the guild is fully leveled 69 with all ingame benefits unlocked, and we have a discord server attached for members to join. ingame the guild is run thru the NA servers, so players on EU servers will not be able to join unfortunately :(
