Wifi thermostat recommendations to replace (3) Honeywell Focus Pro P200 thermostats

Post image
• Upvotes

I have 3 non-wifi Honeywell Focus Pro P200 thermostats in my house- 2 on the main floor and 1 for the basement. The main floor thermostats control 2 air handlers, one for the bedrooms and one for the living/kitchen area. My HVAC units are ducted Carrier heat pumps, one 2.5 ton and two 2 ton units. I would like to be able to control and monitor temps remotely and so I want to upgrade to wifi thermostats. Buying 3 is going to be an investment so if there are any good options on the budget side that would be great. I don't have any smart home setups so I'm not particular to one brand.

T6 Alternatives, please

Having new furnace and zone panel replaced has C wire . Installer will provide new T6 units to replace a T4 rectangle in dining room (6 inches wide x 4 inches tall). Dining room is small room and has beige walls. Don’t want an upcharge, don’t need Wi-Fi, it’s oil furnace only, can heat or I use forced air system running off of furnace to cool. Any recs about alternatives to T6 “freebie”…comparable priced, since T6 is baseline for this job. I don’t know offhand how white switch plate for square T6 will look on our beige walls, thermostat is right near doorway leading to our kitchen. Thx for any suggestions!

Honeywell X2S isn’t putting a tempurature buffer on auto mode.

It sure why but in auto mode, both on the Resideo app and Apple home it will let me set the AC and heat at the same temp, there is no 2 degree buffer and I don’t know how to make it do so as I could see someone accidentally setting the heat and temp to the same and causing problems. Anyone know how to fix this?

Upgrading to the Honeywell TB6575A1000 thermostat. Old thermostat is the Honeywell T6575D1009.

My temperature buttons stopped working on my old T6575 thermostat. It became discontinued and the new TB6575 thermostat is a direct upgrade for the old thermostat.

The new thermostat is missing a purple COM wire. Is it fine to leave that wire out and just cap it?

Important information:

-Thermostat is for a fancoil
-120v system
-3 fan speeds

First pic is the old thermostats wiring above and the new thermostats wiring below.

Poor quality sleep cause of thermostat

Post image

I wake up in the evening because it's too hot. For instance, I set the thermostat to 26 because it feels good and natural in the room (dont ask why, im also bewildered cause 21c is the sweetspot but i dont sweat and it doesnt feel too chill at 26c) but when it reaches 25.9 the radiators start working and it feels very hot and it stops somewhere around 26.2 or 26.3 celsius

What i noticed is that if i have the same temperature, say 26.5, it feels normal without the radiator running but if it turns to 26.4 then its very hot compared to the same temperature when the radiator doesnt run

It feels ok when the radiator is not running. My problem is that it feels extremely hot in the room and i can feel this at night when sleeping cause my legs get sweaty. Its so hot only when the radiators turn on to reach the set temperature even when its like 0.1 celsius away from the set temp but when it stops it feels just right.

How do I fix this?

Btw I upgraded from a Honeywell mechanical thermostat and now I have a Salus RT520RF.

Edit: I forgot to mention that my thermostat is connected with opentherm and temp water is 50c maximum. I cant find the option to change the tpi or hysteresis

C wire won’t work with white compressor wire

I purchased a smart thermostat.I had a blue wire tucked in the wall and followed instructions. At the furnace I connected the blue wire to the C terminal that has existing white wire from compressor. Both are now connected to C terminal. The thermostat does not receive power. Recommendations?

Recommendations for my unique setup

My current thermostat is on the fritz and I’m looking into new ones. According to Gemini these are my two best options as I have a unique setup and many common thermostats won’t work since I don’t have a C wire and I have the black and red wires both going into the RH spot. I would like one with WiFi that I can control from my phone. I know AI can be dumb but it’s my only option to ask questions to in real time right now. Figured I’d ask here to see if there are any other options. Ideally under $100 but I’ll weigh all the options. Gemini also said a c wire adapter wouldn’t work. Just FYI, I don’t have A/C, just a furnace for heat, and I have no idea what I’m doing or talking about if that wasn’t clear, but I’m willing to learn. I bought the Sensi Lite Smart Thermostat as Gemini originally said that would work before it realized my black and red wires were in the RH spot. Taking it back tomorrow. Thank you!

Condenser doesn't turn on in heat setting

Thumbnail

Question: Thank you un advance. I have an electric Carrier Central Air unit with a Lennox thermostat. Carrier Air handler model FV4CNF002, Carrier condenser model 25HPA530A310 along with one of the Lennox 7000 series thermostats. Link attached shows the specifics of the models. I don't have issues cooling the house(house cools/condenser turns on and utility bill seems reasonable around $200/month for a 3 level (2 floors above, 1 below) 1,600sqft single family house in a 4 season state. Issue I have is with the heat. Thermostat is usually placed at 68° and the condenser doesn't turn on. House heats up only dor unit to kick on and off around every 10 minutes. Utility bill when heat is turned on is almost $1,000/month. Most of the windows have been replaced along with all the entry doors. Main heat trunk duct along with some of the runs are insulated. Given my hvac unit model- should the condenser turn on or not in the heat setting? Is this a thermostat issue? If it's a thermostat issue- what's a compatible thermostat would you recommend? Thank you and God bless for taking the time to help. Links for model specifics below.
