In b4 trump announces US is building data centers in Russia and trying to sell it to the public as “the land, power, and water is so cheap!”

uh no Trump will build data centers in occupied Ukraine, then recognize it as Russian, tell Zelensky he's a loser and go on TV saying Ukraine Lost Get Over It. Trump will try sanctioning Ukraine, justifying it because Ukraine is Russia, and therefore legal under the Russian sanctions act, but not Russia prime because he made a special deal (?) that allows him to invalidate and change written laws. Also, he'll sell more of our nuclear bomb fuel to Russia which is legal, under a deal made by President Obama and Secretary Hilary Clinton and then change NATO's mission to ensure Russian Security Cooperation by disarming Germany and allowing Russian troops to peacefully patrol the Baltic states, Poland and Germany as part of anti-migrant filtration deportation super security campaign.
It's just insane, and I think the President is mentally ill

Many will be cheering it because they will think they gaet a piece of the pie while some others somewhere are being blown up and tortured. But that ok, because money. Oh, the sweet prospect of some kind of money that will be bestowed on us by those in power! We just have to let them do evil things to others, and prosperity will ensue.

Trump administration retreats in fight against Russian cyber threats in 2025. Anyone remembers that?

Today's US would align with Nazi Germany

The US of the 1940’s, namely the corporations, worked with Nazi Germany pretty extensively.
Ford and GM both had subsidiaries that created the trucks for the Nazi war machine.
Coca-Cola had Fanta Orange so they wouldn’t lose the German market.
And while they didn’t have a computer, they had punch cards to handle the logistics of the Holocaust. And IBM, the main office in NYC, had a contract to create the machines used in the camps, service them, and produce in the millions, the punch cards for the prisoners.
Now it’s just the Federal government doing it.

I wish I hadn't learned this tbh. It's somehow depressing and unsurprising

IBM provided the computerized tracking for prisoners as the holocaust unfolded.

Interesting how IBM says it's not true but doesn't sue for defamation

They weren't the only US company in that situation... commerce spans borders, and they were a vendor of record within the Third Reich.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business_collaboration_with_Nazi_Germany
People in the US make jokes about France capitulating, but many French people had some to align with right-wing German pokitical thinking: https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/vichy-government-france-world-war-ii-willingly-collaborated-nazis-180967160/
As a reaction to this betrayal, German collaborators (even those with little choice) were treated **brutally after WWII ended.

u/EffectiveEconomics 2h ago
And to extend the thought, one of the reasons European right-wing thinking was more or less **eliminated was due to a very large number of executions. Being right-wing was a death sentence due to the chaos their efforts had unleashed. One could almost claim European peace was built on a foundation of *eliminating those who promoted xenophobic thinking.

Or you could think that it was pretty awesome the USA did not turn into a fascist country between 1926 and 1946. There are always terrible people.

u/Cyraga 2h ago
Nah there's no excuses for supporting evil, and people don't deserve praise for not supporting evil. It's the default state for anyone with a conscience

u/GoodIdea321 2h ago
Even if I 100% agree with you, that won't persuade anyone to be better than they are.
2
u/Additional-Staff-326 2h ago
There were business people who tried to coup in the mid 30s to do exactly that.

u/GoodIdea321 2h ago
And they failed, that's good.

They succeeded on the second try
The Business Plot can be seen as an attempt to replace the rational-legal authority of Roosevelt’s government with a form of authoritarian rule deemed charismatic, given the intended leadership of Smedley Butler. Project 2025 similarly seeks to undermine rational-legal authority by promoting a conservative agenda that consolidates power among a select elite, thereby eroding democratic checks and balances (Weber 1978).

The number tattooed on the prisoners at Auschwitz was effectively their database number. That matched the punch cards you mentioned. (you may know this but lurkers don't)

Today’s US would BE Nazi Germany, if Trump was even marginally competent. Fortunately he isn’t.

This one fills in the question the White House wouldn't answer last week: who's paying, and through whom.
Dmitriev says Russia's wealth fund will work with the US on payment for the diesel deal.
The context around it is what matters:
The fund is under US sanctions.
The US sanctioned the Russian Direct Investment Fund and Dmitriev personally in 2022.
He's a close Putin ally, reportedly close to one of Putin's daughters.
If payment runs through RDIF, Treasury has to license dealings with a sanctioned Kremlin fund, which is another layer of relief beyond the diesel license.
Reuters reported that the diesel license was discussed in September at a meeting in Washington between Dmitriev and US officials.
That's the same month Trump signed the Graham Act.
I don't know whether the meeting came before or after the signing, but the workaround was being negotiated around the time the law was.
Deputy Prime Minister Novak welcomed the deal because it means "additional tax revenue" for the Russian budget, at a time when its military spending has soared.
It's the first diesel sanctions license since the war began to run longer than the standard 30 days; it covers deliveries through April 2027.
Dmitriev's other role: he's reportedly the chief architect of the 28-point peace plan from late 2025, which Kyiv Post describes as repackaging Kremlin war goals as peace terms.
So the deal was negotiated through Putin's sanctioned economic envoy, will pay out through a sanctioned Kremlin fund, and Russia's own officials describe it as funding their budget during the war.

The Trump impeachment is not political anymore. It's a matter of National Security.

what
Not only is this against the sanctions bill Trump signed a year ago, this is also exactly like the Uranium One deal Hilary signed with Putin fifteen years ago. Nobody right of Fox News knows or cares about that, but every Republican does, because it's why they voted for Trump in 2016. Giving a foreign country access to our (per Trump and Fox News) national superproject, AI, is basically treason. Or at least it's treason if we use every claim and fanatical support for AI by Republicans.
I do suspect a deal will be made. I do not suspect Trump will even remember it or understand what's really going on. People here will assume malicious intent but, given how important AI is to his platform now, I truly believe President Trump has dementia.

Both can be true, he’s a traitor with dementia. That’s why he can’t cover it up anymore and it’s obvious.

You really have to wonder what pussy putin told his monkey on the 90 minute phone call.
“You are about to get your ass kicked in the midterms, so make something happen. Or else i release your pee pee tapes”

It's so wild, because a solid majority of Americans support Ukraine and oppose data centers, and decent odds that Trumpski t announces that he's cutting a deal for Russian data centers.
And his sheep still love him.

u/ggRavingGamer 1h ago
If Trump would suck off Putin live on Tv, MAGA will still cheer him on as some 5th dimensional chess move done by the glorious leader.

The business thinking of Trump is so pathetic and short sighted that he doesn't even think far enough to achieve the first goal. Idiot is the worst strategist and completly transparent.
Silicon Valley is so desperately trying to find places for these data centers before their lenders are closing in, that they come up with this last resort now.
Couldn't get Greenland to build those, now tries Russia while also trying to appease his domestic oil mess with this, which will both lead nowhere. Good idea building that in a country where they'll become drone targets. What is he gonna do then? Attack Ukraine? Idiot

u/scotchtree 13m ago
LOL Americans are so patriotic they’ll be enjoying their Russian data centers with a goddamn smile on their face. Let me see y’all standing up singing about the land of the free and home of the brave again. Country full of cartoon characters.
