๐๏ธ Discussion Durability (BOTW TOTK longstanding debate).
I am so sick of hearing this complaint. Mainly on TikTok of all platforms, I see videos of ways to โfix this issueโ, ideas of blacksmiths being available to repair durability. They say โI hope the next Zelda doesnโt bring this โgimmickโ over.โ
You guys clearly donโt understand intended design. Itโs not a gimmick, itโs not annoying, the problem is you. The durability is intended design for multiple reasons and with mechanics built in to support it.
1) If there wasnโt durability and breakage, what exactly would you be looting in every single enemy camp, cave, dungeon, hideout, legacy dungeon etc? The only argument I kinda understand is ok maybe the legendary armaments like the bows or great swords that refresh at the bargaining statues should not break, but like againโฆ. They literally refresh stock so you can just go get more after farming some poes. Probably the most egregious is maybe the sword of light that you get from the mother goddess statue because it requires the materials from the dragons to rebuild? But again, really not a problem. It encourages exploration so you get that added boost of โomg I just found a rock crusher, thisโll be great against rock enemies and farming for oresโ or โawesome I found a feather spear, the added wind attacks will help me with staggering groupsโ ITS INTENDED.
2) not only are there work around with the rocktoroks in death mountain region, but also, the blood moons refresh every enemy, every camp, every chest, all ground loot. These blood moons happen frequently, Iโm not sure exactly how long but itโs usually after like โฆ 2 hours of play time? And correct me if Iโm wrong but rest over and over gets you to a blood moon faster if you really needed it that bad.
If you didnโt like the durability system, thatโs totally fine, youโre entitled to that opinion. But thereโs no โsolutionโ for it, and itโs not a bad design. The world literally complements it and itโs a good design imo.

โ Question How to get bows with bonuses
I think I got some 42 DMG bows from the lynel arena in the past but now I've just been getting plain 3 shot normal bows, no bonus, from them. What do I have to do to get bonuses? I am pretty strong so I should get better items, no?
Or do I feed the bows to stone octorocs? Haven't tried it yet. Does it still work?

โ Question Canโt find yiga door?
I was exploring the depths (havenโt done much, as you can see) and had accidentally stumbled upon the Cap of the Wind (Tingle island chasm). I was running away from some gloom hands and a short cutscene played of a Yiga door randomly as I was scaling the walls but I couldnโt find the door anywhere nearby. Was it hidden in the rocks somewhere or on scaffolding? I have no light roots so I was just sooo confused

โ ๏ธ ๐ ๐๐๐ข๐ฅ ๐ฆ๐ฃ๐ข๐๐๐๐ฅ โ ๏ธ I was just minding my business gathering my restock of bows, because the blood moon had just happened when I saw this
I'm reposting this because it didn't make sense without circling the item I was referring to apparently๐
Edit so there is no confusion: what is circled is not a falling piece of rubble. It's a trail trying to lead you to the top of the temple of time for a side adventure. Upon speaking to the construct on top of the temple of time, he tells you that the light was his doing. I tried to be ambiguous but I guess I should have just been straightforward with it.

โ Question This shrine was marked as completed but I never went there
I was doing the wind temple then I saw the shrine beside it but never went there, not even to activate the fast travel, after I finished the temple I saw it was blue on the map, went there anyways and it was "empty" like I already did it, is it a bug? how do I know I got the blessing?

โ Question What's the point of the Sages in general gameplay?
I've recently started playing TotK, I have all the sages abilities now and I'm doing sidequests and sideadventures for fun before I continue the story. I have maybe 50 hours in the game at this point.
I really dont get the point of the sages abilities?
Wind is obviously good, greater movement is nice for exploration, I use it all the time.
Goron I've used like 10 times to clear some rubble, but honestly it's usually faster to just shoot bombarrows.
Zora and Gerudo I have only used specifically because I felt like I have to use them at some point. I'm actively avoiding using other methods such as swinging, shooting, flurryblows etc to instead use their abilities.
And honestly most of the time I just take extra damage because I have to chase them down in order to reach them, activate the ability, get back into combatrange with whatever I am fighting, THEN use their ability. Not to mention it's hardly worth it because the time I spent doing all that I could've done more dmg with other means.
So other than them drawing aggro and sometimes bodyblocking stuff in combat (other than Wind sage for exploration), why would I even want them around?
