Welcome to the next exciting edition of Survivor 51 "Whose Line," the thread where the rules are made up and One World the tribal council (up)votes don't matter!
If you add any additional commentary, put the skit in quotations. If you don't understand the concept, a skit looks like this: "Other things Brady yelled at the challenge"

I may not be the only one, but my God, those first three episodes were electric. I was telling everyone I knew that this Survivor season was the best I've ever seen. I loved every single member of the cast. They are all different, and they jive together. I was excited.
This last episode was the most dull thing I've ever watched. We literally spent 50 minutes where nothing happened, a whole lot of nothing, and then we jammed 20 minutes of some scheming before tribal council. Scheming is a ridiculous word to use. It was an execution for Jenna.
I know I'm just speaking along with everyone, but three tribes with five people on a tribe is just fucking ridiculous. No one wants to watch this. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it, and I'm embarrassed to have recommended it to other people.

She will go down in history with "The Specialist" and "Shambo" as having a great nickname.

When we were doing the maze, the ball came out the bottom, but didn’t fall into the water. At first, we thought we had to go back and start again, so we did. The wind was so bad, it actually blew the ball out while we were going through the second time. Eventually, the tape was reviewed, and the challenge was called.
So it sounds like it was a Standards & Practices decision, and not an off-the-cuff Jeff call. Likely reviewing the rules as they were given to the contestants, the official rules, and the tape of the challenge ending.
Makes sense why they commented at the beginning on how windy it was!

After the swap, the old alliances are scattered across three tribes. Here's where the four big ones stand going into episode 5:
Helicopter Alliance (Devin, Jelly, Ori, Sharonda)
Formed on day one and lost Aaliyah at the first vote. Devin and Sharonda found the secret extra vote together on the tribe visit, and Devin, Jelly and Ori landed together on new Savu and voted out Jenna as a bloc. Sharonda is the odd one out on Dina. Can she hold on until they reunite?
The Five (Jelly, Brady, Devin, Mike)
Patt and Jelly put it together in episode 2, but it lost Patt to the 6-5 blindside. The swap split it two and two, and Brady says he and Mike were "on the outs with those other three." Is this alliance already dead?
The Loverboys (Kilby, Eric)
They named themselves on screen in episode 4 ("Maybe we're the Loverboys." "That's a good friggin' name, brother."). Kilby has been a target since episode 2. Does this new pair save him?
Kilby, Maggie, Thien An
This group, with Lewis and Carter, pulled off the Patt blindside. Then Jenna went home, and the swap sent Maggie and Thien An to Toka and Kilby to Dina. Will it hold with Kilby on another tribe?
Also on the radar: the Lewis and Carter duo, now split between Dina and Toka.
Who do you think is in the best spot? Which alliance survives to the merge?

But now, I have a new duo to root for a la Kyle and Kamilla. I hope the preview they gave last episode meant we're about to see a new powerful duo. 🔥

On "The Pod Has Spoken," Parvati said she would never do specifically US Survivor again. She vaguely said they were disrespectful and treated her poorly, and that she speaks up against injustice. Did something specific happen or does CBS just generally suck?

Is it just me or do 90% of the contestants who get voted out mention how they were blindsided. It can literally be between 2 contestants, both scrambling all episode, knowing it’s one of them. Just because the majority doesn’t straight up tell them “YOU ARE GOING HOME TONIGHT”, players then mention they were blindsided. I think it undermines the true blindsides which often take a masterclass of deception. When a player is on the top and think they are untouchable….and go home with an idol in their pocket. That is a blindside. Sorry to rant but the term is thrown around way too loosely in the past number of seasons.

Obviously being first boot is rough enough but also hearing how it went down and her post-game falling out with certain contestants is just so sad to hear.
For those who don't remember, she said in her exit interviews that Christian set her up by sitting next to Cirie when she asked him who he wanted to target first. Basically, she asked him who he wanted to target, he sat next to Cirie and immediately walked back to Jenna, kind of non-verbally insinuating that she was his target. Jenna then repeated this to everybody, it made it look like she was the one targeting her and the rest is history. She said she didn't have any pre-game alliances which also hurt her a lot. She also said in her exit press that in addition to Cirie, Devens and Christian weren't her favorite people out there as they frequently talked about how they were going to try to maximize their screentime.
People were really questioning her, calling her bitter, etc. Well, as we know from Big Brother live feeds, Devens defiantely talks openly about that. Also, Christian recently did an interview where he confirmed that Jenna was in fact one of his biggest targets out there going into the game. Granted, Jenna probably shouldn't have fallen so easily into Christian's trap but even than its sad that the OG Survivor representative was targeted like that.
As far as pre-game alliances go, this is 100% true. Honestly, I'm not even sure how many contestants knew that Jenna was on the season prior to flying out. She wasn't revealed by the survivor leakers until the night before the cast flew out (so less than 12 hours before they had their phones confiscated). Nobody on the cast was following her and vice versa except I think Charlie was either following her or she was following him. No pre-game alliances/friendships is a MAJOR detriment, that meant she literally had nobody she could safely bounce names off of, she was clearly flailing to try to get any kind of person willing to work with her in a tribe that already was heavily pre-aligned.
She also said that there was fallout post-season as she had told everybody who contacted her that she wasn't going to be on/production cut her. She said some of her former friends, including Jerri, are still pissed at her for not telling her pre-season she was on (Even though she was just folloiwng production's rules).
On top of that, even if she was playing kind of sloppy, she was an OG contestant who was clearly actually willing to play the game, which we hardly ever see from the first few seasons.

I get people’s frustration with three tribes because we’ve gotten it over and over again, even long before the new era because the only time in the past eleven years where we had a strictly two tribe pre-merge was in Island of the idols. Every season since World’s Apart has either had three starting tribes or a third expansion tribe at the swap.
It’s like eating the same type of food over and over again. You enjoy it at first cuz it’s kinda good, but after a while you get sick of it. Doesn’t necessarily means it’s terrible, you just want something different, even though it can still be good at times.
Take DvG for example, they swapped from two tribes of 10 into three tribes of 5 and it didn’t diminish the quality of the season even a little bit, in fact it gave us more fun and memorable moments. Natalia’s blindside, the formation of the Brochachos alliance, and Jacket-gate.
So again, while I do understand the annoyance of once again seeing three tribes, I feel like some people are being a bit too hasty by saying the show is automatically terrible because of three tribes, cuz a good season can still come out of having three tribes. Philippines, Cagayan, 46, and 47 are examples of that.

Watching CI for the first time and holy shit what an unlikeable, lazy, arrogant, hypocritical tribe 😭 talked about picking off Aitu like zits when they were in the majority and then start acting like victims when Aitu 4 kept winning challenges …treating penner like absolute shit and then getting surprised when he flips ….god they’re all so irritating and entitled 😭 I legitimately can’t think of a single one that I like post-merge.

Justice for Jenna
I just can’t stand the arc around her. It feels awful. I *really* hope she got to tell her story to Dev and Jelly off camera or something, because it’s just too tragic to me Devin’s completely unnecessary vitriol for her.
People are allowed to have secrets. People are complicated.
I’m divorced from an abusive ex husband that I thank the universe every day didn’t kill me. Rebuilding your sense of selfhood as an adult is so hard. Her clamming up in ep 1 was really relatable.
I heavily identified with Jenna and hope Devin feels terrible about his maligning her.
I’m proud of Jenna for getting out there✨

Does anyone else fast forward through the challenges more and more these days ?
I find the ones where Survivors crawl through the mud , throw a ball into a net , climb over a wall and complete a puzzle are all so similar I immediately reach for the remote.
There are some brilliant iconic challenges that make great viewing ...the underwater grill with the rising tide, hanging on to a pole being smashed by the surf; the one where they add more and more balls to the spiral ..love them but yeah some of those big ones that look like so much effort and cost has gone into making them fall short .
Oh and loved the new one with the idol on top of the pole and that Irish dude had to chop the pole down before the timer ran out . What a herculean effort he put in only to fall short . Thats real Survivor , had to shed blood sweat and tears to earn a reward .
So here's your chance . Create some fresh challenges and tell us all about it .

why not here too?

Regardless of what happens I want them to team up again because their joint blindside was epic. Their combined strategic chops was a big move and they both just seem like underdogs worth rooting for.

Jalapão overcoming a 3-6 minority to Timbira at the merge or Foa Foa overcoming a 4-8 minority to Galu at the merge?
I personally think Foa Foa since, outside of Shambo, there really wasn’t much existing fractures in Galu before the merge, whereas Timbira already had tribe members gunning for each other.
What do y’all think?

I’m curious to know how often the first vote read at tribal ends up being the person sent home.
Anybody know? Is it split pretty evenly? I’d love to see the stats here if they’re out there somewhere.
