Wow, almost 0xBB8 subscribers! Hard to believe, but I'm delighted so many are working together. Would anyone like to make some channel art?

Years ago, I created this sub a little after the stm32f4 came out... I knew it was such a big leap it would be useful for many years. Since then, we've seen the F7, the low-power versions, the super powerful H series and a zillion others in between. I watched the channel grow to 0x100 subs, 0x29a, then 0x3e8, 0x400 and 0x4d2 subs, and wanted to somehow congratulate or reach out to the community and party at 0x7cf, but honestly I'm just kind of a workaholic hahah.

Anyway, I'm usually a "white papers and specs," "strictly the facts" kind of guy... but hell, how would anyone like to make some channel art for the top of this subreddit? Let's make it look a little fancy. I've been imagining something that depicts one of the chips, or a cool-looking system using one of the chips? or maybe a collage of projects using the chips? But it's wide open... any creative graphic artists out there who are hooked on microcontrollers?

Also: I wanted to thank everyone for being so civil to one another and keep this a high very high signal-to-noise ratio sub!!!!

ADC-to-DAC Spike Problem on STM32 (Random Glitches in ADC → DMA → DAC)

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for someone with solid STM32F4 experience who can help me debug and verify a simple but problematic ADC-to-DAC signal path on an STM32F407VGT6.

The project:

MCU: STM32F407VGT6

ADC input: ADC3 on PA3

DAC output: DAC1 on PA4

Sampling rate: 100 kHz

ADC and DAC use DMA

Timer-triggered ADC sampling

No EQ, filters, or other audio processing in the current test

The problem:

The input signal passes through the system, but the DAC output contains occasional short glitches or spikes. Grounding the ADC input makes the glitches disappear or become unnoticeable. Changing the compiler optimization level also changes their frequency.

I've already tested different buffer configurations and DMA arrangements. Some changes improve the result, but I haven't identified the root cause.

What I'm looking for:

Is there an experienced STM32 developer who can review my existing code, identify the underlying problem, and help produce a reliable, verified implementation?

I'm particularly interested in checking:

ADC triggering and DMA timing

DMA buffer handling and data alignment

ADC-to-DAC sample transfer

Possible race conditions or missed samples

Any other potential source of the glitches

I can provide my current main.c, stm32f4xx_hal_msp.c, and stm32f4xx_it.c, along with oscilloscope observations and details of the tests I've performed.

I'm not looking for random code changes or guesses. I'd like to identify the actual cause and verify the solution through testing.

If you have relevant STM32F4, DMA, or embedded audio experience, I'd appreciate your help.

Thank you!

[Wanted] Used STM32 boards and sensors for practice — happy to pay

Hi everyone,

I'm learning embedded systems and I want to practice on real hardware.

I'm looking for used parts, not new ones.

What I need:

- STM32 boards — Blue Pill, Black Pill, Nucleo, Discovery, anything

- Sensors — temperature, humidity, IMU/accelerometer, ultrasonic, IR,

light, gas, pressure

- Extras if you have them — ST-Link programmer, USB-TTL adapter,

breadboard, jumper wires

Used and old is fine. Bent pins, no box, no cable — no problem.

I only need the boards to work.

I'm in [Your City], UAE. I can pick up locally or pay for shipping.

Tell me what you have and your price. If you have a box of old parts

sitting around, I'm happy to take it.

Please comment or DM me. Thanks!

I have been microchipped on my groin while I was asleep at jail, I noticed a lump underneath my groin skin as I woke up in jail,

I have been wondering who does that to a person and how do I defibulate the microchip? This happned in 2024.

Quick help

I'm using the stm32duino and I have an issue which is the blackpill in proteus I can't make any any any Serial.print for some reasons I tried CubeIDE and still the same problem the External Clock frequency is set to 84MHz and still the same problem tried different baud rates and still the same problem I tried two different board part numbers the core board blackpill f401rct6 and the generic F401RCTx and nothing worked but the code worked fine with the bluepill in PROTEUS

SDIO switch to 4 bit on 446RE...

I know you have to initialize on 1 bit and then switch, but it keeps hanging when I do so. Does anyone here have a github repo where they have it working correctly on a 446RE? If not, I can put mine on there, but it's still a work in process...

STM32 F427VIT6 (pixracer clone) won't jump to application, stuck in bootloader

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

I checked boot0, boot1 both are tied to 10k pull down nRST is pulled up with 10k

I tried with both HSE and LSE. Same behaviour.

It only boots once when I use SWD to flash after power cycle its dead.

When i upload through DFU it's doesn't boot even once.

The firmware and bootloader works on of the shelf flight controller (pixracer)

The schematic is also referenced from pixracer fmuV4.

I am a newbie here, please shared some light.

Previously I made a f405 flight controller which works without any issues but this f427 seems to stuck at bootloader.

It doesn't emulate USB unless it's in dfu mode
