C;H NoAH Can someone verify if I correctly understood Ayases route in chaos head noah Spoiler

Before i start, i am doing the routes inorder, so i know nothing about kozupi, sena, and rimi routes. So please dont spoil

Honestly ill just give out my interpretation of this route and then you guys correct me? So

- ayase can sense other peoples delusions to an insane degree, allowing her to peer into the darkness of everyone’s hearts.

- she was also tortured horridly to awaken her powers

- in order to cope made up delusions of the gladiole saga, which was real booted through her songs and shared perception among her audience.

- this led to manifestations, including the new gen murders, and noah 2 as gladiole (this is the part where i doubt myself, it seems like a stretch to me that ayase created noah 2 indirectly, but if that wasnt the case then why do her gladiole saga match with events so well???)

- her arc revolves around the process of her moving from being tormented by her own delusions to overcoming and indirectly controlling her own delusions, real booting a method to destroy noah 2. Given that it fit her own narrative of gladiole dying, what would follow would be a good ending where she could see the blue sky, just like any other prophecy. Thus the delusion she came up with to free herself from her torment ended up actually working.

Honestly i believe this arc is vague on purpose, but still tell me if im wrong.

EDIT: i thought of another interpretation that made sense. I forgot that she would have been tortured by nozomi, whoch means noah 2 would have existed before she went insane. I think because she would have already been aquinted with norose. She might have reframed him in her mind as gladiole, and then the prophecy in her mind would be the delusion to help destroy gladiole.

S;G Anime It's back! It's finally back!

For those of you in the US or really anywhere in the world (if it wasn't in every country or region) that did not have the English dub available after it was moved to CrunchyRoll from Funimation.

IT'S BACK!

Well I guess technically, it is finally here for the 1st time?

S;G LBP Questions about time leap mechanics and Ruka route in LBP Spoiler

I appreciate these stories because we get to see the time travel mechanics from characters other than Okabe, as with him a lot of things are just explained by reading steiner.

What happens to someone when they time leap? As the reader/viewer, we observe the person who's memories have been sent to the past, but what happens to the person in the present that used the time leap machine? Is it like The Prestige where one person is transported and one person stays behind? I originally thought that the world basically stopped moving forward until the person who time leapt catches up to the point they leapt from, but in the Ruka route of LBP, Ruka leaps back after lying to Okabe, and then Okabe figures out and also leaps back to confront her before she sends the D-mail to her mom's pager. So clearly the worldline kept moving, as Okabe was still able to time leap himself shortly after Ruka did.

Also in that route, Ruka makes allusions to the worldline having shifted due to her deciding to cosplay with Mayuri before she died, but if the worldline truly had shifted, Ruka shouldn't have any memories of it, right? Or did the worldline not actually shift and she just thought it did? Since she went in the past and decided to go to ComiMa, should that not have changed the worldline, just not to one where Mayuri survived?

I recognize that time travel is inherently nonsensical and I might be reading too much into a fictional story, but most of the mechanics have stayed pretty consistent thus far and I just figured I was missing something. But if the answer is "there's only so much you can do to make time travel work, these are all just plot holes" then I totally get that lol

S;G Anime Where can I watch episode 23B in English dub?

I saw people saying years ago that Funimation had it and it was a part of the blu-ray but obv Funimation is long dead.

Since Crunchyroll just uploaded the dub of the original I was thinking of doing a complete rewatch of it + S;G 0.

But was wondering where I can watch the dub of episode 23B before I jump to 0.

Alpha worldline route

I wish we had an alpha world-line route post-mayuri. I know its not part of the chain of causality that led to achieving steins gate but it would be much more interesting than these scammy remakes they're making

all i remember seeing of that world-line was when okabe went back there in steins;gate 0 and kurisu had her 'aria of the starlight' monologue (plus the bittersweet kiss) but we never got to see the version of kurisu that made suzuha so wary and the havoc that occurred.

I know the post-apocalyptic world is hard to make a rendition of but I do want to see it. Obviously there would never be a happy ending but I can still envision a sort of romantic tragedy true ending that really puts into perspective how bad the possible futures were and induces our appreciation of the ending of the original anime.

I would like to see a melancholic tear-jerker like this instead of elite or reboot.

S;G Why has no one ever shipped Kurisu with Godzilla before?

Obviously okabe x kurisu is the best (and canon) couple ever, but just sayin'

This won't be terrible... it'd go pretty hard...

People have shipped many waifus with Godzilla before, so it hurts that the best waifu of all time, had never been shipped with bigG.

sauce kurisu

sauce godzilla

C;C After finishing C;C I can't help but think that... Spoiler

Kurusu/Minamisawa route is superior to the True Ending. It's not just better because it's a "happy ending", I do think it's way better written in general.

I feel like Uki and Kurusu endings (both of which I find the strongest in C;C) already deal with the message of rejecting a perfect lie in favor of an imperfect reality and accepting it - except they do it in a way more emotional than the actual True Ending. Uki creates a perfect fake world for Takuru as an escape from harsh reality - not very successfully, but that's the point. In Kurusu ending Minamisawa finally accepts herself, and Takuru learns to enjoy simpler things in life, which leads Onoe - manifestation of Takuru's desire to be special - to finish off herself. A very symbolic and bittersweet ending that ties all the other narrative arcs together perfectly.

My issue with the True Ending is that it takes all that and makes it too literal. When the lie is between two characters, it's nuanced. Maybe Minamisawa could've been actually better off living a perfect life as Kurusu - even if it's a lie, who knows? After all, if not for Onoe - nobody would've known. And even when the truth is out, Minamisawa is still not the same Minamisawa as she used to be. But Chaos Child Syndrome really hammers down that message - it's a lie, an imaginary world, and powers that be want to exploit it. It's as simple as that and it honestly makes the overall narrative so much weaker to me.

I feel like the introduction of Chaos Child Syndrome wasn't even all that necessary for the story to work. Every other ending already conveys the same message, but better. The twist doesn't feel all that exciting to me because: (a) It's not telegraphed or foreshadowed in any way (aside from maybe that maid from Cafe LAX); both Kurusu/Minamisawa and Onoe twist were written as a conclusion to an already existing string of strange events, but Chaos Child Syndrome felt like an artificial construction on top of an already existing story. And (b) come on - it's a "it was all just dream" twist - these nearly always suck ass, and to me C;C is no exception because this twist cheapens all the drama and character development that happened in the delusion (since it's not real anymore - I mean, it literally brings Kurusu back from the dead for some reason) in exchange for some fake, lazy shock value.

The necessity to explain Chaos Child Syndrome turns 3/4 of the True Ending into one extremely long-winded exposition and lore dump. That whole part from the Onoe's perspective - it's just not that well written imo. The whole time we spend with her - she basically tries to remember the events we already know as a reader. Not that engaging, especially since nothing truly new is brought to the table and Chaos Child Syndrome twist achieves nothing other than multiplying the impact of previous chapters by zero.

Now, once the CCS is dealt with - the True Route actually makes a sudden course correction into being good once again. All the girls pretending like everything is fine while they can't really say their final goodbyes to Takuru, Takuru taking the blame for himself as self-inflicted atonement, Takuru and Onoe being so close yet so far apart in the end - these were actually one of the strongest scenes in the story.

In the end CCS felt like padding in an already long novel, adding a fairly weak twist in a story filled with way stronger twists. The True Ending could've easily worked without it (like, literally, just skip it altogether and the story will still work) and would've been far stronger that way. It didn't quite ruin my impression of the novel, but it did sour it - I won't lie. Something I could've easily put into S-Tier slid into A-Tier - still strong story, but could've been so much better.
