Title

Use at own caution, I don't trust people and I'm people.

r/StatesboroR4R

Subreddit is in beta, auto mod is basically untested. Please be horney over there.

If we make it to 10010 subs I'll copy paste my tinder profile on there and see if there really is love on reddit.

Edit: Changed goal to ten. I'm as lonely as the rest of you fucks.

Local Experimental/Electronic Music Concert Wednesday October 21 at 7:30pm at GSU

Channel Noise is happening Wednesday October 21 at 7:30pm at the Carol A. Carter Recital Hall.

Hello. I am a graduate student in the Music Technology department at GSU, and I wanted to advertise our upcoming concert a little bit for people who may be interested. If improvisation with instruments and electronics to an ancient Egyptian story, converting webcam footage to sound, or live coding to looping wine glass recordings sounds interesting to you at all, you should come check us out! It is always a good time :)

Local music scene?

Hi! I moved here in August and have been wondering if there was any type of local music scene in Statesboro?

I go to Savannah pretty often too, so honestly if anyone knows of anything down there I’d be down.

Fast Food Night Jobs, Escaping Bad Household

Hous ehold situation is terrible, living with a toxic verbally abusive relative. So far at my morning job I make around 230 to 240 a week, I just need a fulltime job paying atleast $12 an hour for nights. Anyone know of any fast food places that are hiring urgently, Mcdonads, Burger King and Arbys said they are all full.

tattoo Shop Recommendations

Any recommendations for a place to have something like this done? I am not looking for the best tattoo shop in Statesboro, I would be happy with a good artist that is friendly and easy to work with that is professional, clean, and above all, easily accessible (I am not able to deal with ultra-exclusive, hard to reach tattoo masters.).

How do you meet people in this town if you aren't in college and aren't religious?

19M. I just live here because I live here 😭😭 but there's literally nothing to do and nowhere to meet people if you aren't either a GSU student or go to church from what I can tell. By meet people I mean friends by the way, I'm not interested in relationships.

Anyone who's local have some advice? I obviously can't go to bars, I don't wanna go all the way to Savannah to make friends because I can't actively get out there that often, and I mean... There's gotta be SOMETHING. I know about Galactic Comics, but tabletop gaming just isn't my thing.

Packing house

I used to use the packing house as a nice chill spot iykyk. It’s been awhile since I’ve been back and I was wondering if anyone knows if they’ve closed it off. I’d love to take my friend there for nostalgia but I don’t want to waste my time if it got closed or if anyone put traps up in there.

Are the cotton fields fully in bloom yet?

I am in Savannah, and I love viewing the cotton fields this time of year. My wife and I drove through Claxton to Glennville last Saturday, but the cotton plants weren't fully in bloom yet. Any idea when they will reach their peak? Thanks!

Dating apps popular in Statesboro for non-students?

What platforms are people on? I’m a lecturer on the younger side and I’d prefer not to date a student. Looking for platforms that support straight or queer relationships and are popular among the 25-35 age bracket

Battery Arbitrage

Hey guys, some co-workers and I are staying here in Statesboro for the next couple of weeks, giving homeowners information about battery arbitrage. We’re with ESD, a renewable energy company that takes advantage of Georgia Power’s Overnight Advantage program by providing home batteries. You can purchase your daily power at about 2¢ per kWh overnight and use it to avoid peak rates.

Essentially, you’re getting backup power for your home and eliminating up to 90% of your power bill. We have program options that don’t cost anything upfront to switch, and your new battery payment plus your reduced power bill can usually save you $100–$200 a month if you are seeing power bills that exceed 350+ a month.

I’ll put a link below so you can look over the Overnight Advantage program.

We have noticed there have been a lot of people here and surrounding counties that are seeing ridiculously high power bills lately. With all the data centers being built around Georgia and the amount of power they’re going to need, electricity rates are only going to get worse. Feel free to reach out if you’d like to look into it. I’ll put my work number below. And no, this doesn’t involve putting solar on your roof.

Quick update

Howdy, hope everyone is enjoying the nice early fall weather.

I wanted to let everyone know who showed interest in the site/business or is thinking about using it, that I just added a few new features for you to use. All 3 things are FREE to use and only the last one requires an account to use, but is still FREE because as always no fees or subscriptions is our thing.

The fist one is simply an about page I know should have existed already, and I was wondering why folks were confused... my bad. It's up now and if you don't like reading we have 2 video links- one tells you about me as an owner and what my ideas behind this are, I'll say it's authentic but not some well done production. The second one is more about how the site works in my own broken southernisms so you'll have to forgive me there.

The second thing I added should make it easier for anyone to see what they could be making from whatever items they are thinking of listing. In simple terms it's a calculator that lets you choose from over 400 items that we have compiled together with the prices major rental stores charge on average for that same item. We are constantly updating it and adding more items as we find numbers and just because an item is not on the list doesn't mean you can't list it and rent it out, it just means we can't find good prices for what the average would be. Something as simple as folding tables and chairs for a back yard get together are hard to nail down prices on and I would rather be honest than try to give you numbers on them. Some folks have said they were trying to think of what they could rent out- this list should give you somewhere to start and fall is almost here, football season is upon us so there are plenty of things to rent out for yard work, parties, and tailgating.

The last thing I will tell y'all about is a wanted page no one has used it yet, much like the rest of the site but it's live. I don't think y'all need me to explain this one too much so all I'll say is it gives would be renters out there a place to post what they are looking for. It also give the owners the incentive to post what items meet those needs. It requires an account to post to it but anyone can read it.

As always I'm here to help and like to hear from y'all so please ask me your questions and tell me your concerns. I take my job very seriously and want everyone to know they are very important to me. I'll put the links to all 3 in the comments so y'all can let me know what y'all think.

Thank Y'all!

Accidently threw out my laundry bag with ID in the pants and now im being treated like a child

It's crazy, i'm 36 years old and I can't get any alcohol until my physical ID arrives in 3 weeks yet these college kids are out here with fakes. Definitely living in the wrong state as some places to accept the paper or digital, just nowhere here lol. Good think my social life doesn't revolve around drinking or I would be screwed.
