Penny has been getting overlooked because of three reasons: she’s not a kitten anymore (as if one year old cat is not young), she’s a female tabby (unfortunately, cats also face such biases) and one very strange reason - she looks loved enough to skip over because people think she’ll definitely find someone, let me look for some other cat. Let me tell you, she has not gotten a single lead despite days of search.
About Penny:
up for adoption in Pune/Mumbai/Bangalore‼️
Penny is a 1 year old female tabby cat. She’s litter trained, dewormed, vaccinated and sterilised. She’s extremely friendly and easy to handle. She’s based in Pune but can travel to Mumbai and Bangalore.
She’s very playful and some of her favourite toys are catnip mouse, feather toys, balls and having cat trees and cat perches and shelves since she loves heights as well. Cats are generally a huge fan of vertical space and so is Penny. She’s also a cat tv lover.
Reason for putting her up for adoption: Penny was rescued last Diwali because she got separated from her mother due to firecrackers. She was adopted in March but due to the adopter’s neglect, she ran away from the house twice and we had to get involved again when we understood that they weren’t actively searching for her. She got pregnant and had to go through a spay abort after that. Recently, she was returned after an adoption attempt as well. We’re cat rescuers and therefore can’t keep every cat we rescue because then we’ll run out of resources to help others.
Long shot but if someone sees this and wants to take her home, you can DM! for others, please tell her how pretty and perfect she is - it gives me some hope too! If you’d like to push her adoption post on instagram, you can do so by going to @_bbpaws and just engaging with the post!

Posey is 5 months old and has a lot of white in his coat, but possibly enough to be considered a SIC. What is the council's decision?

We just celebrated his 5th Got You day!
His government name is Otis, but he goes by Oatie, Oatie Boatie, Otus Boatus, The Athlete, Stinker, Stinky Boy, Baby Cat or Baby Goose. Currently curled up in the triangle and as I can’t move, thought I’d post him on here.

Just a few pics going back to the day we got her. I could make the album way bigger but I wanted to keep it somewhat reasonable.

I’ve been staring into voids for years but last Friday I acquired Tiramisu, one year old SIC who was abandoned and rescued by, well, a rescue! And then I saw his face, now I’m a believer!
Shy but very vocal… at 3AM 🥴! Soft coat, purrs like a Harley Davidson and requires frequent belly rubs. I am a very happy convert to the SIC!

There is nothing Standard about the way Buddy makes those knives shine.

had to add a pic of her. my fucking baby i love her more than anything in the world. she now knows how to ask for forehead kisses, she pushes her head toward me or even gives me little “kisses” herself with her nose (kind of boops) and then tilts her head down so i can kiss her. when i make the kissy noise at her she points her forehead toward me. i think i may explode from cuteness. how are cats so fucking sweet??! she is my everything.

I humbly submit for your enjoyment the story of the beginning of a lifelong friendship & a parenting error.
This summer, the Cat Distribution System granted us with this Standard Issue Cat, Hotrod Model. She showed up on our doorstep teeny tiny and terrified, but clearly looking for love (or food, if I’m being honest).
Azalea, newly turned 2, quickly claimed Rosemary as her sister. The two are inseparable, and their daily goal is to wreak as much havoc and chaos as possible. Generally they are quite successful.
Unfortunately, yesterday I made a miscalculation. In retrospect I should have realized my mistake, but hindsight is 20/20 and whatnot. Rosie was scheduled to be spayed at a local clinic. No big deal, just needed to drop her off at 8AM. Azalea and I carefully buckled Rosie’s crate into the front seat, and then headed to the clinic. In the car, we talked about visiting the Kitty Doctor who is called a Vet and helps animals every day.
Upon arrival, everything goes as planned. We bring the carrier inside, do the paperwork, drop off our kitty, and we’re told to return by 4:30.
This is where the problem arises.
As we’re walking out, Azalea suddenly looks panic-stricken. “No, mama, wait! Get Rosie!!” This begins a full-blown TINY HUMAN CRASHOUT. “Noooo, my sister!!” 😭
At this point she is screeching, crying, inconsolable. I’m tearing up trying to gently explain that she will come home soon and the doctor will help her. Eventually I give up, put on Ms. Rachel songs in the car, and take Azalea for doughnuts. She settles down eventually but continues asking about Rosie all day.
Needless to say, their reunion yesterday evening was emotional and sickeningly wholesome.
Moral of the story: get your toddler a kitten. Best decision ever. But do NOT bring said toddler to vet appointments.
