I can’t believe we work all week, looking forward for the weekend to rest and there goes the power🙄 and it pours rain on weekdays and on weekends it’s burning hot. Life’s so unfair, we deserve a 3 day weekend atleast, someone should actually change this system, not WFH or Hybrid working methods just a 4 day work week and 3 day weekend

Was kinda a fun fact for me when finding this out lol. Is it common for big corporations to hire a foreign agency for branding related work instead of local ones?

I sent pictures to my ex and now he has leaked them online. I found this out through my potential (proposal) who reached out to me today. I admit I made a mistake sending pictures to my ex husband but now him and his family are going around smearing my name and ruining my life. My potential found out this about me through his aunty, who did background check up on me & my ex husband’s family shared these pictures with her.
I also had a lady reach out to me asking why I’m sending pictures to her husband recently, when in reality my ex husband is the only one who I shared those pictures with when I was with him.
Is there a way to find out how my pictures have been shared and where they’re shared? So I could report them, I’m seriously worried. If my family finds out they’ll actually end me. For context I’m Muslim too and I don’t live in Sri Lanka no more.
What can I do about this, please help?

No water. No electricity. This country is so messed up. Man i hate being in here. It's better to migrate to another country. We live in a country where peoples dream is leaving the country

😌 let's get to know each other's rants and just enjoy each other's company 😅 you guys might as well share some random teas, like how family gathering happens and old people spill teas and stories to keep others entertained 🫠

I recently joined the rotaract club at my uni and things have been going pretty well. I got to socialize more and put my skills to good use. The only thing that annoys me how these BODs and EXECO people act like the club is some high-stakes, corporate level thing when in reality it’s only a volunteering club.
We have to go to this project and that project, the MGMs, it’s like the world will end if we don’t go to these stuff. On too of all that, the club in my uni is very disorganized and the least punctual. There is a serious in-group/out-group thing and I don’t understand how these people make a club a top priority over their studies. They expect us to be like them but that’s the last thing I want. Like…can’t I just do the work in my avenue and mind my business without going for any of these extra things?
They say they are “understanding” but when we bring up any issue, they are the first to point their fingers at us.

Fr, the public stunts are getting wild. Rollin' up and rallying with proven s*x offenders, drunk drivers, straight-up racists, ex-cons, and political clowns from Pohottuwa? Doing all this aggressive, unhinged extra stuff in public just to end up as viral laughing stocks... like, what are we even doing here?
At this point, it feels like an actual ops campaign to completely trash the peaceful, wholesome image of Buddhism. Am I trippin', or is this actually deliberate?
WDYT?

I (mid-20s, Tamil) have been dating someone (mid-20s, Sinhala) for a while. We both live and work in Colombo. Recently, the conversation moved toward long-term plans, culture, and our families.
I’ve always respected her, stood by her through her own family mess without judgment, and was completely open to honoring both our traditions. But the moment my background came up, the cognitive dissonance peaked.
Because I'm originally from an outstation province, she lost her mind. According to her logic, living barely two hours outside Colombo somehow makes her elite, while my hometown is a "rural downgrade" she "doesn't deserve" to step foot in. Her parents apparently would "never send their daughter to such a place," and having a traditional function to respect both sides was dismissed as "surrounding yourself with bullshit silly people."
The hypocrisy is unreal: someone can come from a completely broken, dysfunctional home, yet look down on an educated, hardworking, and tight-knit family just because of geography and postal codes. And to top it off, whenever called out on this elitism, the playbook switches straight into guilt-tripping and playing the victim.
For those who made an inter-ethnic relationship work here, how did you handle family pushback and cultural differences? And for those who saw it fall apart, where did things go wrong?

Deeply saddened by the passing of this magnificent gentle giant. What pictures or encounters have you had? I’m so sad I never got to witness him for real

Girlsss 😭🫶🏽 I need your help!!
I’ve been thinking about getting laser hair removal, but the prices at some places are actually crazyyy 💀 Like I want smooth skin, not a financial crisis pls 😭😂
So tell me, where are you girls actually going for laser in Sri Lanka??
I need REAL reviews from people who’ve actually done it, not just those perfect before-and-after pics on Instagram 😭
✨ Which place did you go to?
💸 How much are you paying per session? (Because some prices are actually not for the weak 💀)
👀 Did it REALLY work? Like, did you notice a proper reduction in hair growth after a few sessions?
📍 Any good places in Colombo or anywhere else in SL that are actually worth the money?
🚩 And most importantly, any places I should stay AWAY from?
I’m looking for somewhere affordable but still good quality. Cheap is great, but I don’t wanna waste money on a place that barely works either 😭
Please drop your recommendations and actual prices if you can!! Even if you’ve had a bad experience, spill the tea ☕️
Help a girl outtt 🫶🏽

I recently became a dad and have been thinking about all the little things I can do to give my son a fun and memorable childhood.
I’d love to hear from parents here — what did you and your family do growing up that you still look back on fondly? Or have you started any cool family traditions with your own kids?
My son’s first birthday is coming up soon, and it got me thinking about starting something we could do every year that he’ll eventually look forward to.
Could be something simple, silly, meaningful, or completely random. What are some traditions or yearly things your family does that you’d recommend?

okay, so I am lucky that I have 2 routers at my home, wifi routers. One slt fibre and the other is a dialog router which is from like 2016, ik its old. But as you all know today we have a huge powercut but luckily I have solar, so I was so happy, I turned on my dialog router and guess what, NO SIGNAL, I'm posting this using fibre. I was so furious, i thought it was smth wrong with my router, it led to a few phone calls and guess what, ONE OF THE MOSTLY USED INTERNET PROVIDERS DONT HAVE BACKUPS AND LOSE THEIR INTERNET IN A POWERCUT AFTER A FEW HOURS, maybe cus my router is old but wtf if it aint cus of that.
ANAGATHAYA ADAI NEME ANAGATHAYAK NE MEHM BALADDI!
drop your ideas on this gng, fix me if im wrong, but I didnt have probs with my sim on my mobile device, maybe its my router but who knows.

This man and his poisonous organisation are trying to stall a genuine effort by this government to legally handle the mess left behind by the ultra-rightists after the war. The fact that his aligned monks are protesting, imo, requires an even stronger and louder counter-protest.
His brand of violence and thuggery has no home in Sri Lanka.

Hey guys, I'm looking for a good ergonomic chair since I work from home and spend around 8–10 hours a day at my desk. My budget is around 100k, but I can stretch it a bit if it's worth it. Mainly looking for something comfortable with good back support and long-term durability. I've been considering the Rae Ergo Flex 4D Plus, but not sure if it's the best option for the price. Has anyone used it, or are there any better options available in Sri Lanka? Would appreciate some honest recommendations from people who've used their chairs for a while. Thanks!

Hi folks.
My best friend is Sri Lankan by heritage (UK born though) and he's getting married. We have been friends for 25 years - from secondary school to now life as middle aged men. He is very much into his heritage and I want to get a culturally appropriate gift for him/his bride. I am unaware of the cultural norms in the culture.
I appreciate any insight given.
Thanks,
S
