Today we're hosting first ever PSA tournament in Siberia (that's just a Satellite but that's just a beginning). I'm playing too and during the day my strain put me to the 1st place of all whoop users who play squash

Finally some enjoyable squash at CIB, not the usual arguing with the ref etc…nice!

My comments on the Egyptian Open final

Quick aside on Asal: I am not an Asal fan and I deplore his blocking tactics, but the way he handled his defeat today was mature and graceful. I'm convinced that he is a decently likeable person outside the court, but we clearly need to give him some form of punishment to stop him from grabbing hands and cheating.

I actually only watched the 5th set so I can't say much about what happened, but Elias's counter drops are a different level. In the 5th set Asal fed him multiple drops glued to the wall, only for Elias to counter drop it with the same exactly precision. I believe it is one of the reasons why Elias won. What are your guys' thoughts? Do you think Asal played a dirty or fair game in the final?

Any thoughtful comparisons would be appreciated.

Hi Reddit - it’s Jack from the PSA, and I’m helping to develop the website you all (hopefully!) know and love - that being PSASquashTour.com

The website itself has come on leaps and bounds since its early days. But we’re very confident we can keep on improving and making it more user friendly.

We wanted to reach out to the Reddit community as we know you'll be some of our most frequent visitors to the site. If you could fill in the form linked to this post, that’ll be extremely helpful in helping us choose what to prioritise and where to focus our attention on in terms of feature development.

We’ve just launched some awesome new features - such as our new Live Scores page which links directly to our (also new!) refereeing software, so you can see way more detailed stats such as rally length and decisions as matches unfold. Lots more to come too!

Thanks all - can’t wait to see your responses.

Currently going through a GPP phase for our training block. We lift twice a week for the year and it’s full body.

Hey, I just started a website to solve some issues I've had with following the tour over the years, mainly with knowing when my favourite players are playing.

It's not easy to check when players from my country are next playing or how all their rankings are moving, so I made a website where you can set your favourite players and see easily when their next event is. If a user has flagged a stream link for a match (or they're on squashTV) then you'll have a link to the match so should cut down on searching YouTube/Facebook/Instagram for event pages for links.

And for players I'm hoping we can build a back catalogue of links to matches for every player so you players can really explore players you hadn't seen before.

I'd love feedback on if this is an issue you've had too, and what else you think the site could do! It's only new so apologies for any bugs!

Again it's followsquash.com

P.S: if you have any photos for players (or are a PSA player) that you have taken, we need portrait photos and I'm not allowed scrape them from PSA!

He's lazy. In the pre game show they were talking about practice and someone mentioned why Asal doesn't go all out like some others and other commentators (Jana?) said "maybe he's lazy". Then it clicked, that's why he cheats, that's why he retires, that's why he fakes injuries, he's lazy. He wants to go home and play FIFA. If he wasn't lazy he'd lose a lot of his matches in the fifth.

Saying its limited to 300... racket is on sale for 15 quid on alibaba i managed to find it from a search taotao initially and found linked sites .... load of poop making a canadian site for it . Granted it looks well but i guess the mark up will be insane

I play at a leisure centre and we do have a sauna but it’s shared with the pool / gym users. It’s currently being repaired and I’m missing it! Just wondered how common it was to have saunas in squash clubs or is it considered to be a high end / posh club thing?

If you have one how often do you use it?

I get that the PSA is hyped about how beautiful it is it play squash with the pyramids in the backdrop but the atmosphere actually seems rather dull and boring. There was hardly anyone in the stands for Coll vs Elias. This is a top 4 matchup in the semifinals of a diamond event and they can’t get anyone to come and watch?

Edit: just checked local time and the match may have ran past 1am?

App on TV is telling me that semi final is starting soon. Android app plays fine on tablet but won't cast to TV. Web sqush TV plays fine on tablet but can't cast to my TV.

Loyal customer for 15 years and could anyways cast seamlessly. They need to fix this soon or I'm done. I love squash and want to support it's growth but this is amateur-hour carry on.

Is it so hard for them to enable me to cast to my TV so I can watch Asal block, hand grab, try to decapitate lads with his back hand on my 55" led TV?

Come on ghoys.

What workouts are best for squash I’ve got the basics down but still like there is more I could be doing

He does not seem to enjoy playing that much anymore, I think he already made up his mind to retire soon.

Folks from India, where are you watching the semi finals of CIB Egyptian open. Its a diamond event and Jio is not showing it. Is it on any other OTT? Or has squash failed to find a buyer this year?

This is a lovely article about Chris Gordon, who retires after a loooooooong career - he holds the record for the most PSA events played. I love his approach to keeping squash fun.

Hey everyone,

I’ve been playing squash for years and have been thinking about an idea I’d like to get some honest feedback on before I spend time building it.

The idea is a squash match analysis app where you upload a video of yourself playing, and it analyses your performance and gives you feedback on your game.

For example, it could potentially identify things like:

• Strengths and weaknesses: What you’re doing well and where you’re struggling.
• Point analysis: Patterns in points you win and lose, and what might be contributing to those outcomes.
• Tactical mistakes: Getting caught out of position, leaving the ball short, poor shot selection, or giving your opponent opportunities.
• Areas to improve: Specific things to work on in your next training session or match.

The goal would be to give players some of the insights they might get from having a coach review their match footage, without needing to pay for a coaching session every time.

My initial thought is to let people upload 10 minutes of footage for free to try it out, with the option to use more analysis if they find it useful.

I want to be realistic about this, though. Squash is a pretty niche sport, and analysing a fast-moving game accurately from video is a technical challenge. I haven’t built the app yet, and I don’t want to spend months building something that nobody actually wants.

I’d genuinely appreciate your feedback:

1. Do you currently record your matches, and if so, do you ever go back and analyse them?
2. Would feedback like this actually be useful to you, or do you think a human coach is much better for this?
3. What would you most want the app to tell you after a match?
4. Would you pay for something like this if the analysis was genuinely useful? If so, would you prefer paying per match, buying a monthly subscription, or something else?
5. What do you think would make an app like this useless or frustrating?

I'm not here to pitch a finished product or claim AI can replace a coach. I'm trying to figure out whether there's a real problem worth solving and what players would actually want.

Thanks, keen to hear your thoughts, including the criticisms.

Been off the court for a couple of years with a lower back injury. Things have been slowly getting better to the point now where I'm thinking of getting on court in the coming months hopefully. I will make sure my back is 100% right before I start up again. But what are some squash specific excersices I can do at gym to get my body ready?

I have a couple I've already started doing but keen to hear more.

I've been doing:

Jump squats

Box jumps

Walking lunges weighted one side

Interval running

Hi all, I just moved to Dubai from San Francisco and I’ll be here at least through January. I’m looking for people to play squash with regularly.

About me: I’m a competitive amateur, rated about 4.15 on the US Squash scale. Back home I played 4x a week. I’m happy to play matches, drills, or solo-hitting partners, and I’m open to joining a club box league or a social group.

I’m based around Downtown Dubai and can travel within reason. I’m flexible on times, including weekday mornings and evenings.

If you play, run a group, or know a club with a good playing community or league, I’d love to hear from you. Comment or DM me.

Good to see more and more players finally calling out the stuff ruining the game.

I wonder how they think in Egypt about the direction of the sport globally. Seems like the post-Farag generation has lost some of the sportmanship along the way? Is it the result of the extremely fierce competition in the country, get result or you are a ”nobody”.

If this continues the sport is in trouble. Many games before and the latest Asal/Zakaria, horrible game to watch…just the general discomfort of players arguing with the referee all the time as if they would be above the sport. No respect for the ref! The ref was frustrated as well….just really horrible (I stopped viewing after first game…)

Honestly don’t they see that they need to get the whole sport up?

With the return of Gohar V ElSherbini later this evening it got us thinking, what has been the greatest rivalry on tour?
