This aired on KY3 during the 6:00 PM newscast this evening. Just casually using a dead actor's likeness for their attack ad.

Hey friends! I am an employee at Pythian Castle and wanted to talk about some things we've been noticing and stuff that people generally have questions about! My boss did not ask me to do this I just think its helpful and necessary for those who'd like to visit!
I think it would help to have this info out there.
- We do history tours and ghost tours (and escape rooms!)
( yes we do actually believe its haunted. ) if you want to book with us best practice is online just because our entrance is literally one of us and some chains .
-The chains are our point of entry. 30 minutes before your tour or so you will see me or my co-workers down there. We are there to confirm you booked with us before we let you up. (we've had tons of people try to blow past us just to see the place without a booking.) we just need your name and well check you in and give you instructions for parking and what to do while you wait for your tour to begin!
-The castle is private property. Alot of people ask to 'just see the castle' we don't allow that for a couple of reasons. The castle is privately owned and the owners live there. There is always someone at the castle. Letting people through willy nilly causes an obvious safety issue. secondly the tours are very reasonably priced (20ish for ghost and 10ish for history) the tours fund the maintenance of the castle as well as renovations of areas that are not ready for tours. essentially by coming you help us share more of the castle and ensure it will be with us for a very long time! We have had issues with trespassing as well as people just wanting to see it for free.
-Location, this seems to really confuse some folks, you can't see the castle from the driveway because were surrounded by the military reserve, that's why we wait for you by the chain! Rest assured we are there though!
-Times of year. We are open year-round but there are times of year that are bussier than others. October is our busiest season because of halloween. The tours change to reflect this.(specifically ghost) during this season were decked out in fun Halloween stuff, there is of course very serious things that we talk about but for the sake of families and tourist theres a fair amount of gimmicky animatronics in there for fun, People looking for a super immersive experience do not like October tours for that reason, if that's you then I recommend you join us any other month! (we only do it for October, its good for school trips and small children that might be scared of the ghost tours)
we do also decorate for Christmas but the tour does not have any changes and remains quite serious and immersive the whole way through!
-what we offer. you can look this up on our direct website but we do a little bit of everything, dinners, parties, escape rooms, weddings, always feel free to call and ask if you want us for an event.
if anyone has any questions about literally anything (ghost, experiences, tours, how somethings works, etc.) I would love to answer those for you!

I was on a dash when I saw a german shepherd come running from I believe holland onto sunshine. A car clipped the dog, the dog slid got back up barked at the car and then took off again. I had to slam on my breaks to not hit this dog. I went to see if the dog was okay but disappeared before I was able to help. Last seen on university st between holland and kimbrough. I spend time trying to spot the dog again to no luck. Dog had no collar.

Hey Springfield, I’m a parent and also stakeholder at Summit Preparatory School. Wanted to share that we’re having a community event paired with an open house tomorrow (Oct 22) from 5-7pm. The event will be out in the backyard space, it’s come and go. There will be stations with activities that explore the outdoors and celebrate the natural world of the Ozarks. A lawn chair and reusable water bottle or cup are encouraged.
The school welcomes students 3 years old (2 years of preschool) through 12th grade. It has a focus on progressive education - classes for all ages include yoga, Spanish, STEAM, music, outdoor education, etc. It’s also fully independent - no external affiliations - and accredited. There is financial aid available.
I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have here (and if i can’t, I’ll find out who can). If you want to see the school in action, there is also an open house on Friday from 9-10:30am. I’ll say that visiting during school hours and seeing their approach in action made a difference for us deciding to enroll.
Thank you!

For those who were planning on going to the Three 6 Mafia/Denzel Curry + hardcore show at the Shrine on November 13th, apparently Denzel Curry dropped the date and has been replaced by Key Glock. There was no announcement sent out to ticket holders about this... Super lame.

Hello,
I am currently trying to organize a campaign to recall mayor Schrag. It seems clear that he has no respect for the will of the voters. I am waiting to hear back from the city clerk on a few details and will begin collecting signatures afterward.
If anyone is interested in helping out, shoot me a dm. If there are any attorneys in the audience, I'd love it if I could ask you a few questions.
Cheers

Hello,
This is my first time building/buying a house so I need some advice. I'm am moving in from Omaha, so I'm not there yet. I have done very extensive research on the 4 main builders in the Springfield area: Schuber Mitchell, Trendsetters, Flintrock construction, and Bussel.
From what I can tell all of them have BBB complains and negative reviews online. Obviously, at the price point these builders work in, some corner cutting is expected, but there is a difference between cheap closer doors and improper flashing or water leaks.
My question is: how does one choose a good builder?
I'm aware all of these companies build tons of houses, meaning 3 negative reviews doesn't tell you much and is likely negativity bias. After all, many people have built with all 4 and ended up being perfectly fine...but this is such an important decision it feels like you just have to take a leap of faith and hope you land in the water and not on the concrete.
For anyone who has built a house with any of those builders, how would you order them from best to worst?
Based on my research, I would order them:
Bussel = Schuber Mitchell
Flintrock construction
Trendsetter
Trendsetter seems far below the other 3 because they have had numerous complaints about flashing and leaks specifically. I believe all 4 are not contingent on inspections which also worries me. Is this purely just luck at this point? Should I just pick the one with the floor plan I like the most?
I'd appreciate any tips, advice, or experiences!

Hi everyone! I’m a licensed massage therapist in Springfield, MO, looking for 1099 contract opportunities or an affordable hourly/month-to-month treatment room in an established wellness or beauty spa.
Ideally, I’m looking for a space that offers client referrals, shared clientele, or opportunities to network with other wellness professionals.
Does anyone know of any local spas or practitioners offering these types of arrangements? I’d appreciate any recommendations or personal experiences. Thank you! 😊

Editing to add that they were able to get this done for $60ish with 1 week shipping. Thanks everyone for your recommendations.
My friend has a picture of their ID but not a physical one. The DMV stated they needed their birth certificate to get an ID but they’re from California so it’s not possible to get it until they make enough $ to buy it online which is nearly $200. Any suggestions on places hiring without needing a physical ID or how to get a birth certificate from out of state cheaper?

I clicked on <a recent> thread and was excited to discuss it only to find out it was locked. The platform had already done its job; all the negative posts were downvoted and hidden for me, leaving valuable and positive conversation at the top. But it was too late, I couldn't participate because it was locked.
Please consider letting the community and platform do their thing.

I've heard really the only way in is OTC, but I'm NOT ballin like that. After rent insurance food and medical I'm barely in the positive with OT. I've considered a second job but that'd be factory work 1430-2230 then 2300-0700 and I'd still have the OT on the weekend. No one seems to want 11-4 or 1000-1400. Is there a path I'm unaware of. An alternative might be somewhere willing to give me 5, 12's or something.

Where could someone find reasonably priced men's jewelry? Would love a thrift store, but I'd prefer not to go to a pawn shop. Most places I find women's jewelry and no men's.
