Finally finishes this project. Bought some acacia benchtops from bunnings. Dark for the D-pad and Select Start buttons and circle area around ABXY buttons. and Light for the rest.

I've got a laser engraver so I could cut out template and route out the shape and timbers to make the D-pad and logos ETC

For the buttons I just filled some cupcake silicone moulds with epoxy and dyed them their colours.

These are just the tip of the iceberg! Iโ€™m working on a few more pop-reference, mounted animal heads. These were originally for myself, but after my friends kids saw them they instantly fell in love.

Each animal also comes with a โ€œlucky footโ€ to put on your keys.

Literally only for cleaning feed truck wall cracks at work. I think imma call it Crackcalibur.

I work on ag vehicles as part of my ranchhand job, and often it is on the walls of Feed Trucks. We feed so much and so often, that most of them just can't keep up, so they start cracking.

These cracks are then impacted with feed as they're being used...this, is bad. And annoying af. Lol

So we need to often take out the augers and clean up any spots to be repaired... For about a year and a half, I've been using ALL manner of tools, from screwdrivers to shaped sucker rod.

Today I got tired of the bs and decide to see if I could come up with something better to help... And created this Wasteland Special of a chisel/dirt knife/twine cutter/back scratcher.

Gotta say... Worked pretty good today. I'm rather proud of it.

My personal rating for it would be a solid 7/10 for what is was made to do.

Made from a junk plate cutting. A junk lock collar. A junk 1" nut. Junk washer and two different sized pieces of old used square stock.

Mig and Grinder to make it. Ball peen, bench vise and grinder to shape the butt.

Total time: about 1hr +/-15min

I started making stained glass a year ago and somehow became the frog lady.

Now I've got a whole frog army, people vote on what colors I make next, and threse little weirdos have found homes all over the country.

I don't own a single frog related thing, so becoming the frog lady was definitely not on my bingo card

Getting back into it

I was looking through all my craft stuff trying to get some ideas and this came to mind. I don't even remember where the cog came from.

I have critiques but I'm working on not being a perfectionist. I do wonder if it's too simple. I might consider adding to it later. More suspensions between the gaps, I could web or star the center of the cog.

I'm open to thoughts

Another broken piece

This is a mirror I made with silver leaf, and antiqued. The antiquing made the silver come off, so I backed the entire thing in rose gold. And then the damn thing broke.

So my goal was to find a grout color that worked and emphasized the rose gold. I think it worked overall!

Iโ€™ll add that while I like doing mosaics, theyโ€™re entirely a result of my failure in another craft, so Iโ€™m cutting all my shapes by hand.

Open to feedback and constructive criticism!

I added the glass opal eyes to the bird skull pendant. Used czech glass flowers & beads for the rest. I was inspired by the toggle clasp, mostly!

Finally got around to making a stand for this thing - an Enco 40030 that I got for cheap a while back. Not tall enough to be a floor unit, but not light enough for a cheap old table, at 300lbs. Was proud of the angled cuts on the back - made with a diy skill saw jig, and first time trying that out. I think it turned out alright!

I have used the handbuilding technique and stoneware ceramic clay to make it. It is always a competition to make such kind of constructions in big scale, so I have made this small scale form to find it.

Found a Shawl at a thrift store. But I don't wear shawls.

DETAILS:
While out thrifting I came across this yellow embroidered shawl, and hot damn I couldn't stop myself. It was whispering to me. What was it saying? 'Drink some wine and make something. Ignore your responsibilities'. And that's just what I did. My electricity might be off, but my fashion is ON!

My shirt pattern comes from an old shirt that I deconstructed. Honestly the easiest and cheapest way to get a pattern. I cut along each seem, take mental notes (and promptly forget them, due to the wine), and boom! Pattern. I recommend tracing it onto some butcher paper. I don't know why, but like my old manager says, "extra work is fun. But don't feel joy. Joy is for the elite."

Unfortunately there was no way to match the patterns symmetrically due to the nature of the shawl, and my own laziness and impatience. There are some construction mistakes (mostly unevenness and symmetry) that I wish I'd corrected but if we're talking past regrets and mistakes, that one doesn't even make the list.

Total time was roughly 4.5 hours of sewing, or roughly 6 episodes of the show 'Carrie', that are confusing because you're sewing and not paying attention to the plot, and your husband gets frustrated because you keep asking questions about what's going on with the 'Psychic Laura Ingalls Wilder', and also because there's a Singer Heavy Duty buzzing away on the other side of the living room, but you refuse to take it upstairs because you simultaneously want to spend time with your loved one and also completely ignore him in pursuit of crafting.

I don't know exactly what the fabric is, but it feels and looks like a Gaberdine. I started with maybe 2ish yards of the fabric and 3/4s of a bottle of wine and used both in their entirety for this shirt.
