I was gifted some Indian Warrior herb (Pedicularis densiflora) from an herbalist friend of mine. I plan on trying it smoked and in tea but wanted to hear other people's experiences with it. Very excited to try it out!

Smoked this last night NSFW

I was bored and kind of craving a cigarette but I’m trying to quit and it was late so I ended up taking all the tobacco out and just filling it with this. It burned pretty much like a normal cigarette (maybe a little quicker) and overall I enjoyed it. Is there anything I should be concerned about? (Besides the fact that it’s ground up tea I remember someone saying something about how that’s particularly bad for you) should I do it again or is it unsafe? Also were can I find actual herbs to smoke rather than teas?

Experience The tobacco replacement herb you have been looking for! NSFW

Heey everyone! I am just new here and happy to have access to so much information about smoking different plants. One plant that I know about is missing in all your post and comments though, which suprises me. The sweet woodruff, galium odoratum, is native to Europe and can be used for teas. I have tried to smoke it, but because I do not smoke tobacco regurlary, it is too heavy for me. I asked some regular tabacco smokers to try it and they liked it. The only source I have is my grandmothers little herbal book, it specifically mentions it can be used for people who want to quit smoking. Hope this helps people who have been long waiting & searching for an alternative and didn't find one.

Experience Klip Dagga report NSFW

Post image
16 Upvotes

Today I put some Klip Dagga in a joint with Peppermint to soften the taste, I used a rolling machine. This definitely acts on one of the cannabinoid receptors, it felt like a weak weed high. I felt a bit dissociated from my surroundings and enjoyed life more, my ears also felt a bit more sensitive to sounds and music. Vision was also more 3d. The "high" doesn't last very long but I felt the numbness in my body long enough. I feel it's stronger than even genuine Blue Lotus. I see myself smoking this again in the future, haven't tried Klip Dagga as a tea yet but I heard you feel more of the effects when smoking.

Question/Advice I want to expand the variety of herbs I smoke, any blend suggestions? NSFW

Post image
17 Upvotes

Currently I smoke mullein, sage, lavender, peppermint and rose. Typically mixed with marijuana. I have a few options on hand though I am not sure if they are safe to smoke?

- Rosemary

- Mugwort

- Yarrow

- Holy Basil

- Blue Lotus

- Tyme

- Bay Leaves

Are any of the ones I listed smokable? Or are there ones you highly suggest to try?

I do smoke solely herbal blends sometimes, meaning no marijuana. So please do include some blends you have come up with!

Wellbeing Looking for a tobacco alternative NSFW

I’m currently looking for herbal alternatives for smoking. I have tried several herbs such as mullein, red raspberry, chamomile, lotus and catnip but either don’t like the taste/ smoke quality, or the effects. I have quite severe dpdr/ anxiety, and the only thing I enjoy smoking nowadays are hash spliffs. I’m up for blends but considering I have gone through many herbs, I would rather stick with one or a handful of them in a mix. I have considered Damiana and wild dagga but I’m not sure whether they’d be good for my state.

Safety/Harm Reduction 73-Herb Smoking Safety Tier List – Looking for Feedback/Corrections NSFW

I’ve been putting together a harm reduction tier list for 73 herbs people sometimes use for recreational smoking.

I’ve got each herb labeled by what role it plays in a blend: Base for smoother filler herbs, Effect for the ones you actually feel, and Aroma for flavor and scent. Then I broke them into three safety tiers.

πŸ”΄ Red means avoid inhaling it entirely or that it is redundant and does not add much to the blend. Some of these are the ones tied to toxicity, carcinogens, or more serious respiratory harm.

🟠 Orange means heavy caution. These are stronger, more questionable, under researched for inhalation, or just have enough gaps in the data that I do not feel good treating them as confidently safe.

🟑 Yellow means relatively lower risk. Still not lung safe, still not something I would call harmless, but probably the better options if someone is going to smoke herbs regardless.

🟒 Green means these are the herbs I’ve personally researched and ultimately trust for use in experimental blends, drawn from the safest options of tier yellow and a select few from tier orange. These represent the best options available within this harm reduction framework. Personally, I would stick with these overall and probably avoid everything else. Proceed with caution!

Layout

Within each tier, I ranked them from most concerning at the top to least concerning at the bottom based on my research. I also included scientific names so everything is clear and there is less room for confusion.

I am looking for input, pushback, corrections, or herbs I might have missed. This is supposed to be a living reference that gets refined over time, not some final definitive word on the subject.

Base

The main body of the blend. It keeps things smooth, fills out the bowl, and tones down stronger herbs.

Effect

The stuff you actually feel. These herbs do the relaxing, sedating, mood shifting work.

Aroma

The flavor and smell layer. It makes the mix taste better and feel more β€œritualistic” without being the main thing hitting me.

Question/Advice Looking for a clean herbal smoke free of nicotine and tobacco NSFW

Hey everyone,

I’m not a smoker and I don’t use nicotine im looking for a ready rolled herbal smoke with a pleasant natural herbal aroma, no nicotine no tobacco I simply enjoy herbs and their natural scents and I’m looking for something calming relaxing and gently soothing and I’m only interested in actual smoke I’m not into vaping or other alternatives. I’m not into fruity or sweet flavors at all I prefer a clean smooth herbal or floral profile something soft earthy and floral like chamomile lavender or rose.

I’d love to hear your recommendations.

Looking for advice on a smoking blend: Sweet Flag (Acorus Calamus) + Mugwort + Damiana NSFW

Hey guys, I'm planning to try a new herbal smoking blend for mental clarity and mild relaxation. > My planned ratio is:

Sweet Flag (Acorus Calamus) - 40%

Mugwort (Artemisia princeps) - 30%

Damiana (Turnera diffusa) - 30%

My questions:

Has anyone tried this specific stack? How was the synergy?

Is 40% Sweet Flag too high for smoking?

Does this blend actually help with "brain fog" or is it mostly placebo?

Any tips on the grinding or curing process for the Sweet Flag root would be much appreciated. Thanks!
