Seriously the NFL preseason is more important than the NBA and I don’t even give a shit about their preseason either. The team is clearly pacing themselves. In short bursts where they pick up the pace they’ve looked good. Relax. The champion isn’t decided in preseason. The Knicks almost went winless this preseason I don’t see anybody talking about how their season is over. Just wait to till we play games for real.

I’m still thinking about this, both in the sense that I’m really sad for the guy because he was finally gonna have a bigger role in the league, and also in terms of our front court depth as he was gonna be a key piece.
Can someone assuage my concerns? What are we gonna do? I love Bona but he doesn’t really rebound the right way, hard to explain. Hukporti would‘ve been that guy.
I guess just wait till December when they can make a trade or is there something else that can be done? Any thoughts on this in general

Best-case scenarios
The Sixers stay healthy
Nobody knows precisely how many games Joel Embiid will play. What we do know is that he’s currently healthy, he’s been healthy throughout the preseason and he’s been practicing without restriction.
This doesn’t specifically have to do with Embiid; it’s more about the other four starters and the remainder of the rotation.
If James, Tyrese Maxey, Jaylen Brown and VJ Edgecombe all play a lot of regular-season games, the Sixers can work with whatever number of games Embiid plays. If Embiid plays 50 games or fewer, and one or more of the remaining starters joins him in an extended absence, Philadelphia will have a difficult time conjuring up the needed reps as a group to challenge for a championship.
The Sixers’ health is of utmost importance; if their main players are out there night after night, the talent level feels as if it will work itself out. Even in the loaded Eastern Conference, this team has the ceiling of being a top seed, or the top seed, but health will need to come before almost everything else.
LeBron finishes top 5 in the NBA in assists
If James leans into the point forward role, the Sixers have a chance to be fantastic. He’s still one of the very best passers and playmakers in the league.
He gave a glimpse of his capability to run the offense last week against the Brooklyn Nets. James had five assists in the first quarter — and probably should have had more in the second quarter if others weren’t missing shots. He found Edgecombe both in transition and cutting to the basket. He found Maxey multiple times on the perimeter.
It remains to be worked out what the offensive balance of the Sixers will look like, but Maxey and Brown are such dynamic scorers that it doesn’t make sense to suppress their own shot creation. Edgecombe’s ceiling as a player is so high that the Sixers need to find him runway to stretch his legs.

Missed bringing Ben back for pennies on the dollar... He's better than everyone on our bench. But we (fans/Doc Rivers) fcuked him mentally, the city abandoned him, and our bench will struggle with defense and rebounding. Good job Jameer Nelson & Mike Gansey.
